We are in a guarded level crossing at Farsala, of the railway line that connected the town of the prefecture of Magnesia, Velestino with Kalampaka, a town of the prefecture of Trikala, crossing all southern and western Thessaly.
We see in our shots, young and old people who wait for the passage of the steam-powered train. The guard of the passage with the crank handle lowers the bars for the safety of vehicles and pedestrians.
They all line up on the side of the steel rails, the train passes, the bars go up, the little Volkswagen and the tractor behind it can continue on their way.
The children look very happy from the experience.

The steam-powered train with a JUNG locomotive of the Volos-Kalampaka line passes from the guarded railroad crossing at Farsala of Thessaly. We can see the guard, Theofilos Karalis, raising the bars with the crank handle, the steam-powered locomotive of "SEK" (Greek State Railways) and the last wagon with the elevated watch of the attendant.

Το πασάγιο είναι επί της παλαιάς εθνικής οδού Λαρίσης - Φαρσάλων, υπάρχει και σήμερα χωρίς τα ΑΣΙΔ (ή τα δίφρακτα). Το λυπηρό είναι άλλο: είναι σωστό να εκτελούνται το 1973 σιδ/κά δρομολόγια με τα βέλγικα βαγόνια με τους εξώστες του 1880; Δεν μπορούσαν να παραγγείλουν δέκα - δώδεκα σύγχρονα ελκόμενα βαγόνια; Την εποχή εκείνη υπήρχαν και εμπορικές συναλλαγές με τις χώρες της Κομεκόν και η ανταλλαγή προϊόντων γινόταν με αγροτικά προϊόντα που θα πήγαιναν ίσως στη χωματερή...
Να, αυτά ήταν τρένα όχι οι σημερινοί χάροι.
Να ενημεεωσω, ότι 1 χρόνο πριν από την χρονιά που αναγράφει το βίντεο (1972), είχε συμβεί το δυστύχημα του Δοξαρά με 19 νεκρούς. Και 5 χρόνια πριν (1968) το δυστύχημα στο Δερβένι με 36 νεκρούς.

Δηλαδή η κυβέρνηση δεν νοιάζεται.
Παρ' όλα αυτά θα προτιμούσα κατά πολύ τα τότε τρένα.
