Batman smiling at the end at pictures of his friends. I love it.
Here's a comic writer who actually likes Batman, and doesn't just see him as a character to worship or something to deconstruct and destroy.
Tom King has a pure knowledge of DC and gets perfectly the core of their characters. Clark, Wonder Woman, Batman, Supergirl.
The funny thing is, the nail salon actually has technology that can affect Superman's body, something half the universe has been looking for.
What is it?
Honestly i always thought clark could just turn off his invincibility, he rarely would but way i need be he could say get blood drawn for either research or donation because im sure he'd be willing to help people by doing so
Edit for anyone wanting to correct me on this i admit I'm probably wrong, I dont read superman comics very often so I dont have much for knowledge beyond the movies and shows

@@bentonmarcum8924 If I had to guess, it might be Leslie Thompkins, the kind woman who found Bruce in Crime Alley that fateful night and tried to comfort him. Looks like she runs an orphanage now from the looks of that sign.
Them trying to find a gift for Batman reminds me of a comic a few years back in which Superman's trying to find a perfect Christmas present for everyone then in the Justice League. It was both funny and heartwarming.
That simple panel of Batman having the pictures they gave him on his car dash was super heartwarming :D
@jamiestewart48 it's that side to Batman that he'd never let anyone see. Just a little reminder that he's still human, and that even the Batman has feelings.
I love the little smile on Bruce's face. It shows how important his family and friends are to him. Batman might the bringer of justice but he deserves happiness every once in a while.
A part of him feels he doesn't deserve it. It feels he hasn't earned it. But then Clark and Diana remind him that true friendship doesn't work like that.
These kind of comics are what I love to see! Not every Batman/Superman story has to be them fighting or one being evil or Diana picking one side over the other. Man, Injustice and then Death Metal stuff really put the trinity through the ringer...

Yeah, they should ad more slice of Life. Its way more interesting, seeing them as people, than Just animated Action Figures. And Not Just for the Justice league. Every Show should have a healthy Dose of fluff: One of dbzs best episodes was Goku learning how to Drive for example.
i always think the main canon will *always* have the trinity as close friends at the end of the day. and, barring the occaisional shakeup misunderstanding, they'll always reconcile.
sure, i love injustice batman and superman, but what makes them work is that while they COULD happen, they WON't happen.

see the thing about bruce is. it's the thought is what makes him happy, not necessarily the gift itself.
i love that this comic shows that bruce thinks of the justice league as close personal friends, and that's something money can never buy.
and that says a lot about how despite being rich, and despite the trauma, the scowling, the brooding...
that he can appreciate a small gift from his friends, and that's worth more than all the money his stock in his own company.
Even in outer space, the Earthbucks coffee shops misspell the name on the coffee cup.

reminds me of the old school "Super Friends" (the one with the wonder twins) where they had to fight him, and as a kid I could never understand what his name was
reminds me of the justice league episode "for the man who has everything" only more simple and fun and less traumatic for superman.

I like that unlike in Marvel who most Alien Races looked down on Humans as an Inferior Race, as a reason to invade Earth and do Evil Stuff. In DC most Alien Races acknowledged that they themselves are essentially Humans of different planets, and view Humanity as their rivals instead of “prey.” Like every time an Alien Warlord wishes to invade Earth, they do it as a quick Cash and Grab operation cause Earth often has something those Aliens want. Like Darkseid for example who often comes to Earth to bump heads against the JL in hopes of collecting more fragments for his precious Anti-Life equation. 😇

I love stories like this where your superheros are just having a regular, "normal" day.
I wonder if Superman buys Lois' jeans at that mall in outer space just so he can keep on making the same dad joke to her, over and over again.

This seems like something Clark would do, with his innocent humor, and, something Lois would always laugh at, because she loves him, even if the joke begins wearing thin over time.
I mean going to those lengths to make such a joke is undeniably funny.

There was a Supes/Bats story I read years ago where they both helped get a pregnant woman to the hospital (they were panicking) and after she gave birth she was like "I don't know what to call him" and Batman said something like "Clark is a good name" and Superman smiles.
I can't remember the title of it.
I still think a day out with the bat family would be a good present for Batman. I mean, how much fun would the Robins have playing baseball on Jupiter? That would be a golden memory for Batman.
That diamond really was a good gift. It actually made him smile.

You know what's nice? Comics writers who remember that these are, at their heart, silly books for children. And who, I suspect, binged a combination of Phil Foglio and Doug Adams. before writing this.

So the gift was "Hey we hung out with out you and it was great, heres pictures to prove it!"
That was such a dumb gift. Especially since there’s a comic from the early 2000’s that had a much better gift. Superman gave Batman and his allies a day off, he went to Gotham and took it upon himself to stop all crime for 24 hours (he obviously told Batman he was going to do this beforehand). And what made it even better is that Bruce had no idea what to do with himself on a day where he didn’t fight crime.

Batman and Superman work better as friends I'm tired of them fighting each other. I'm also tired of Batman being an abusive edgelord and Evil Superman they suck. Why can't heroes be heroic these days? Why do they have to be evil or edgy all the time?
