Did you know you aren't supposed to put grease down your drain if you have a grinder pump? If's bad practice anyway, but with a grinder pump, it can log up the mechanism and floats and create a huge mess. 💩
One of the things a plumber told us when we first built this house was that we should do some monthly maintenance to reduce grease in the pump. In addition to not purposefully pouring grease down the drain, we run a bottle of dawn dish detergent down the kitchen sink and in the bathtubs once a month. I do it on the first because it makes it easy to remember.
What are some ways that you keep up with home maintenance?
