I can't imagine how some people think you don't know exactly what you're doing when you're rehabbing these auction horses! But this 67 year old horse woman hasn't seen one misstep. In fact she's learned a hell of a lot by watching your videos!! Well done, CC!🐎💜🐎
One of the biggest reasons I am 100 percent devoted to your channel and have stopped watching most "blue ribbon" trainers is that you always consider the whole horse and never automatically blame any issues you have with them first on their behavior. Horses don't think and reason and plot. They remember and they react. Thank you so much for being you. 73 yo lifelong horsewoman here, and have learned a whole world of excellent information from you.
I am a non horse person but I have been watching Steve Young for a long time. I know that he has to rush during his sessions due to time constraints. I would be very interested in your opinion of his technique. Me and a couple of his other followers used to suggest to a particular rescue about how to use licks to help their farrier. But they really got their back up. The suggest made sense to me, but they didn't even consider it as far as I could see. Also, I've never seen another person use his theories about not wearing sunglasses and only looking at the horse's feet to keep things nonconfrontational. He only works with bad cases so maybe that's why people with only slightly fractious horses don't need to use his techniques? I really am interested in what you think about it. Thank you in advance.
@@marieparsons9908 I watch his channel too and like it. I enjoy the way C.C. does her work which is longer in time duration. Steve Young is more emergency work or at an impasse where his work is a catalyst to help and quickly. Woking with horses is as much an art as anything.
I’m a 74 retired horse owner. I love watching the care and detailed attention you give your horses. Your patience and attention to nutrition and balance show so much in your well cared for horses!!! Keep on going - we all love watching!

I think you made the right choice not to ride him right away. You've built a relationship with him before riding him. You let his body recover. Plus made sure he is healthy. Add to that too let him mentally recover from what had to be traumatic. He moved from a place he knew to an auction then transported to a complete stranger.
I picked up a thrown away neglected small Appaloosa pony at age 20 . After rehab , my girls shown him lightly until he was 28 . He was fearless and could do anything. He was with me until he passed away at 43. I was going to pass on him but my 8 year old wore me down. I believe in 2nd chances .

Ziggy looks so much healthier & stronger than when you first got him. I can't believe people would think that you're too big to ride Ziggy!!! "Debbie Downers"😄 Keep up your excellent work CC - we love your videos, your horses, your cats & Huckleberry!!!💜
A few minutes into the video I definitely saw "Arab" horse. Ziggy has all the classic features of an Arabian Horse - his size, tail set and of course his head. He is lovely.
Ignore the stupid comments, the people with the most to say are probably the one's that google everything, no real experience! You do right letting them settle.
From my perspective... Ziggy is making excellent progress. The care and training that you are giving Ziggy (as well as ALL of your other rescue charges)... is simply OUTSTANDING! As usual, your videos are both educational & entertaining... PLEASE keep them coming!
I enjoy your videos so much! its fulfilling to see someone be so patient and kind to these auction horses. thankyou for your kindness and love for horses
Why these “haters” feel like it’s ok to criticize you. These people are just nasty people. Instead of being negative, these people can just change the site they watch but they don’t. So many people love your site!! Keep doing what you’re doing. You are wonderful to do all you do!

Ppl are so excited to have bought a horse and can't wait to ride the poor animal that they give no first thought or consideration to its comfort. Talk about dumb airheads.
I wish you had been around 50 years ago when I bought two extraordinarily patient horses, we made a lot of mistakes together, learned a lot of stuff together, but no one out there was giving a masterclass in horse care, and after watching your show I can see how I could have done a lot of things differently and better. I think you are making a difference for a lot of new horse owners, keep it up, it is wonderful that you focus on horse care and upkeep, rather than the riding part, I always spent many more hours brushing and hanging with my boys than I ever did riding them, your show is the only one that focuses on the hard work involved rather than the fun stuff.
@brendacooper5729. Your post is great, C!ever Cowgirl is so knowledgeable and digs into proper horse care so well. I am 68 years old and have wanted a horse since I was 3 but could not get it to happen for me and I gotta say, I for sure had no business owning horse! I think what I learned from horses came from the old westerns my dad and I watched. I am glad now my dream did not materialize!
Thank you for your post, Brenda. I wish CC was around years ago, too. More like 30 years for me. I had a wonderful gelding and owned him until I needed to put him down at 25. Like you said, not a lot of people around giving a master class on horse care. I had one class on equine nutrition in college. Doesn't come close to what I'm learning from CC. I wish I knew these things back then. I could have done things differently and much better for my gelding, especially in his older years. It makes me sad somwtimes to think about some of these things I could have done for him so much better. Thank you a bunch CC.❤
@@djbrockman8389 I'm 72 and have always felt the same way - I didn't ever push the horse-owning part because I knew that I didn't know everything I needed to know. I've always loved to be around horses or ponies and feel comfortable in a saddle but am just as happy brushing or combing. 🙂

Your horses are all gorgeous! You truly are one gal that uses common sense and education together for the better ment of your horses and kitties and pup. Love watching you, you teach me alot.
Anyone who has raced bicycles or motorcycles knows that saving weight is crucial to performance and in endurance riding weight is an important consideration too.
Why are people pestering you to ride Ziggy? I don't understand it. Is it so crazy to give a horse time to settle in, make sure he's not sick, get the weight back on that he needed and build trust. Everyone is in such a hurry to jump on board. You are right to wait until now.
Ziggy would take every blue ribbon in a horse show. He just floats when he trots, and he looks so proud and beautiful. CC, you have done a wonderful job with him. Thank tou for teaching us about him.
I have a retired 29 yr old Arab, flea bitten grey like Ziggy. He is a Polish Arab so he has bigger bone, he has a really wide rib cage that makes him look fatter then he is, all that to say I don't think Ziggy is too fat. Thank you for rescuing Ziggy! My guy wasn't a rescue, but he will never go anywhere, he and my other two will stay here for life.
If I were ten years younger I would take Ziggy in a minute. I had my little grey Arab for 21 years before I lost him at 24. We logged thousands of miles on Ohio trails and he changed a lot of peoples opinions of Arabs.
I have never understood the aversion to Arabians. My horse was so good and kind. His personality was so vibrant. Sure he had his likes and dislikes. And he could be jealous. But he always took care of me on the trail .
@@debrabiderman4275 Kit (GHSteel) hated plastic bags unless they contained carrots and he was always suspicious of trash cans but he, too, always took care of me on the trail. And he was super careful around little kids, I have a picture of him being led around the horsecamp by my two year old granddaughter with his head lowered to her level so he could see her. I miss him so much.
Many others have already said this, but for what my 2 cents are worth (not even 2 cents -- lol) you are obviously a knowledgeable and caring horse person, AND you bought Ziggy and have poured care and $$ into him and so it is up to you to decide when it is time to ride him. I wish every equine involved person would be even half as concerned and fair as you toward their horses -- the horses would live such better lives. You and Ziggy are adorable together; I love how much more lively he looked while you were riding him. He clearly has a work ethic and enjoys his job. Whatever decisions you end up making for Ziggy, he has already hit the jackpot of care and consideration becoming your horse, if only even for a couple of months. Thank you so much for what you do for so many mistreated horses and sharing their journey with you with us. I just love watching your channel and learn so much from you.
It is amazing that anyone can be critical of you for anything! Ignore them! I don't know anyone more patient and concientious with your horses than you!!!
You know, it might be nice to keep Ziggy as your steady eddy boy to keep your spirits up. I think he really likes you, and to have him staying right in the back of your house is perfect.
Love Ziggy! I hope you will get other Arabians at the auctions. Arabian is my favorite breed, and is extremely popular where I am. CC, you have done an amazing transformation with Ziggy and you look beautiful riding him.
Ziggy is looking really good for the little bit of time that you have had to work with him. Seems like the diet that you have him on has really helped his coat to shine. I think the new guy is really starting to feel good just by the way he moves. CC you do such an amazing job with your care for the horses. YOU ARE AMAZING
Don't pay any attention to internet demands. You are the one that spends her days with those horses, a former vet tech, and a knowledgeable horsewoman. I would watch you for a year and never worry about your decisions when it comes to them. I'm down for whatever, chores and feeding, training, auctions, and riding when you are ready. You go girl!
I’m going to say it again, you are such a good horse mom. I am so thankful that you do what you think is best and ignore what other people think they know about your horses.
He's not evading capture, he's playing hard to get, LOL! Even tho he really wants you to catch him 🙂 Always best to wait and get to know each other before riding them, you are right to wait. He did great on the first ride. Don't we all ignore our aches and pains? Wait till your 67, like me 😆
Beautiful video! The situation with Ziggy focused on his work and the mare having a fiesta on the other side of the fence is so funny! ☺❤ I also love the gentle way you treat your horses to make them feel comfortable. Please take all the time you need and don't let people who think they know it better put you off your path. Your happy animals are living proof that you are doing it right! 😊
I love how you think Clever Cowgirl and totally agree with everything you say. You’ve taught me so much and I could not LOVE your channel anymore than I definitely do. As for Ziggy, as much as I’d love to see him stay with you and obviously be completely looked after for the rest of his life, I can also imagine him being, maybe a teenager’s very first horse. Somebody who has been having riding lessons for quite awhile, and would now love their very first horse. Somebody who can learn and grow with Ziggy and NEVER sell him, as he would be their heart horse. Just imagine the love he’d receive and the bond they would share. Anyway THANK YOU as always and yes please. I’m definitely interested in Ziggy’s costs so far. Let’s be honest, I’m interested in everything you’d like to share❤️
I loved my Arabian. He was a kick in the pants to ride (in a good way), he saved a group of riders who were stuck in a quicksand area. We led them out on a long rein so he could sniff the ground. He was the first to sense cars on dirt roads, water ahead or other riders coming. He was an easy keeper. I rode dressage on a Warmblood, a thoroughbred over fences but my heart belongs to my Arab.
Thanks for uploading so consistently! Your videos have become part of my routine, they’re so relaxing and enjoyable to watch 💖 Ziggy is such a beautiful boy, it’s been a joy watching his rehab
Same here i've been watching every video for a couple months and got very inspired! Found a few horse rescues and farms that might need some help with grooming and going to volunteer this summer, i'm beyond excited!
I will be sad to see Ziggy sold - he is so happy with you, and you never know if future owners will be as good to him. It makes me wonder how many different owners and experiences of life he has had. I would really love to see him over with the other horses, and ideally I would love to see that lone brown horse under your care as well. But then I have always been happiest when all around me are happy. Especially animals. Thank you for sharing your daily life with us.
Every you tube site that I enjoy watching, gets people making ignorant comments from people who don't know anything about animal husbandry. You're great! Keep on goin girl! ❤️
He looks so much better! And you are not too big for him! I have very long legs and people always have something negative to say about it. Oh well can’t please all the people any of the time 😂
Wow! It’s been 5 weeks? Rollie pollie cracked me up! He’s beautiful, you’re doing a great job with him. Who cares what people comment, you’re the expert! God bless!
I've been waiting for this! The people criticizing you must be the ones who have no patience, want to rush an animal along and get angry when they don't get instant perfection. What's the big hurry, anyway? The at-risk horses you save need time to get over whatever they left behind - trauma, being hauled and banged around at auctions, harsh handling, etc, transition into their new, wonderful lives, and learn to trust you. Ziggy may be a little "roly-poly"😄 but he looks great thanks to you. That gorgeous Arabian head and tail I just love him!😍❤❤
Ziggy looks wonderful ❤❤❤ so I'm glad you got him. I think he is so handsome. Ziggy seems to be getting custom to training. You do a great job teaching him .😊
CC, I learned to ride on bareback horses rather than with a saddle. So, when I began using a saddle, I was initially uncomfortable because I could no longer feel the horse's muscles and their movements. This way felt like I was in "tune" with my horse, and could predict what he was going to do. Although I did eventually use saddles, I preferred English ones rather than Western saddles, again for these reasons. Please do not feel like you need to justify to us, anything you do with your horses! I was around horses most of my life, but have learned more from you than I ever did in my many years as a rider! You are the very best "horse person" I've seen, and I've seen and watched plenty of them! Thank you for your vlog which is a quiet, calm, happy place to be the chaotic world today!
Jepp, he definitely looks much better than the day you brought him home. I really do like him a lot. And btw, I absolutely love your characterisations of all of your horses. I think it is because you have seen a lot of horses living and working under a lot of circumstances so you have an idea of what their former life looked like. And I love how you take all of this into account when dealing with each horse.
@@JLC87420 It’s OK that you didn’t get my joke or find it funny. Those of us who own animals regularly anthropomorphize their behavior when we talk about them. It’s all in good fun, and I promise you, the horse wasn’t offended. There’s no need to leave a sexist comment about it.
I think having a cost analysis of a rehab horse from the auction would be interesting and would probably really benefit those who are considering this type of endeavor
Gosh he's looking so much better, and he is definitely carrying himself like an arab now. I could just picture him being a lovely first horse for an early teen or tweenager. People talk about troubled teenagers addicted to their phones but a horse or a pet that requires responsibility helps mitigate in my opinion. Just something to think about

@@debrabiderman4275 its because they don't respond to "cowboy" training well; so people blame the horse.
I had an Arab mare who was a total airhead. But she knew she was pretty!
I worked with Arabians and once you do your attraction to them is complete
He does look A LOT better! Sweet boy!
MSM has made a world of difference on my two 29 year old mares.
I love how consistent you are with each horse and how you really know and understand their quirks , challenges and temperaments. Good job 👏
Ziggy will return your consideration and care tenfold. Be ready for him to move comfortably into your heart.
He looks great ❤
Ziggy really is a beautiful horse. I love his face.
Ziggy!! Yes! He looks so much better and stronger. What a sweet guy💕 Love how you rehab and tailor what you do for the individual horses needs.
Agree! ❣️🍀
Ziggy is such a good boy.
It's really nice to see a "just Ziggy" video ~ he's a beautiful horse, and so much better than when you first brought him home.
I’m going to say it again, you are such a good horse mom. I am so thankful that you do what you think is best and ignore what other people think they know about your horses.
Ziggy is a handsome old gentleman. Thank you for saving him!
What a nice video about Ziggy’s journey/transformation. You are excellent equestrian.
Totally agree … give horses time to heal and build trust… please don’t listen to people you do an amazing job!
Ziggy must feel he's reached heaven after his long life. I'm glad you have him now and are able to give him some love.
He's not evading capture, he's playing hard to get, LOL! Even tho he really wants you to catch him 🙂 Always best to wait and get to know each other before riding them, you are right to wait. He did great on the first ride. Don't we all ignore our aches and pains? Wait till your 67, like me 😆
You are such a master horsewoman! I love your whole horse approach and you sure don't miss a thing! Very well done!
Glad we could see Ziggy. I missed seeing him frequently. Thank you for giving him time & space to relax. We can all understand how wonderful that is.
Beautiful video! The situation with Ziggy focused on his work and the mare having a fiesta on the other side of the fence is so funny! ☺❤
I also love the gentle way you treat your horses to make them feel comfortable. Please take all the time you need and don't let people who think they know it better put you off your path. Your happy animals are living proof that you are doing it right! 😊
💯 agree!
I always watch the horse to tell me about the trainer. Watching C.C. is seeing good dialogue between a horse and a human.
Would appreciate a video on Ziggy's costs incurred since you got him at auction. Thanks.
I also love to watch you working with the horses. You have an intuitive training style that deals with the whole horse's well being. Thank you!
Didn't want to say anything about Ziggy's absence--so glad he's doing well!!
That's amazing 👏
The quarantine corral vacation has done Ziggy good.
He’s so sweet and has an extremely wise eye.
Every you tube site that I enjoy watching, gets people making ignorant comments from people who don't know anything about animal husbandry. You're great! Keep on goin girl! ❤️
The costs for Ziggy would be a great video! 🐎
I love how Ziggy was talking to you when he first saw you. He does have a pretty impressive hay belly. LOL
He looks so much better! And you are not too big for him! I have very long legs and people always have something negative to say about it. Oh well can’t please all the people any of the time 😂
Dropping a comment 😁
Wow! It’s been 5 weeks? Rollie pollie cracked me up! He’s beautiful, you’re doing a great job with him. Who cares what people comment, you’re the expert! God bless!
Heartwarming how far he has come
I've been waiting for this! That gorgeous Arabian head and tail I just love him!😍❤❤
i know all of you notice CC doesn’t show her face because it is ALL about the horses and their rehab. ❤❤
Hi, C.C. Ziggy is a handsome boy. He is blossoming under your gentle care❤️
You're right about not riding them too soon. Screw the know it alls!!
I would love to know the amount of money you have put into Ziggy. He is going to make someone a nice little horse. Thank you for saving him.
Your voice is SO soothing. It must really help in communication with the horses ❤
Now in my 80's I have to ignore a fair few aches and pains in order to get my jobs done too! Such things come with the turf!
Ziggy looks wonderful ❤❤❤ so I'm glad you got him. I think he is so handsome. Ziggy seems to be getting custom to training. You do a great job teaching him .😊
Oh hes so beautiful; he stood up nicely when he realised you were getting on! 💖💖
He seemed to enjoy the ride. Must be bored out of his mind 😉
Yeah ready to get back to work!
He does look good.
The pick me horse is so funny. It’s like Ziggy doesn’t even see she’s there. 😂
I literally laughed out loud when she ran by!!!😂😂
So a mare being a mare is a pick me horse….. oh you women.
@@mimimaitri1 there’s no need to be ignorant woman either but here we are.
@@JLC87420 What am I ignorant about exactly?
Knew an Arab that looked just like Ziggy. His name was Ashton. Perky spunky animated yet gentle as a lamb. And a bit of a jokester.
Ziggy is such a dainty boy, he really does look so different from the others with his Arab structure.
