"he will be hanging out for another year basically not doing anything" - you know not a lot of owners would say that so calmly... the fact that you take on every obstacle without ever thinking of selling or euthanizing is beyond amazing. you are a good person and you deserve to achieve everything you wish and work so hard for!
Thank goodness for this wonderful lady! I wish I knew her name! But I haven't come across it yet, in spite of watching so many of her videos. I'm so glad for poor Skeletor that he will have the most happy and rewarding life possible, with his mom taking great care of him! ❤❤❤
It must be a relief to know definitively what you are dealing with in Skelator’s rehab. He is such a fun horse. His shenanigans always bring a smile to my face. I am so happy you are willing to give him the time and energy to heal/improve as best possible.
Clever Cowgirl, you are not only kind, but you are practical and have a huge heart. You are fortunate to have good vets. Kudos for giving Skeletor his best horse life ever! He is young and time will heal. My horse, JD at 15 got a bad flexor tendon tear. The vet I used said he would never heal without surgery. I got other vet opinions, as I believed time would heal along with shock wave therapy. One vet agreed with my research, so I went with his recovery plan. It worked. JD lived large until 27. And he never had another issue. Anyone that has doubts about a treatment plan, go get other opinions. The same as you would do for your own health.
I am confident that time and rest will do miracles for Skeletor. As a lifelong horse owner at 60 now, I have seen and experienced so much of these types of injuries, either from friends horses or even my own. We adopted an off the track Thoroughbred named Jake that had earned over 350,000 in his racing career, although short, still alot of money. He became my trail mount for about 5 years, and after retirement lived another 10, for a total of 26 years of life. We did have to inject his hocks once a year, and that gave him great relief and he was able to be used for my grandchildren to learn on. You do a wonderful job with your animals, so very glad I found your channel. 💕
I remember when you said that having Skeletor as a Pasture Pet would be fine so I wasn’t too worried about his future. I am so glad that you are know how to and are willing to rehab Skeletor so that this baby can have a long, happy, and as healthy as possible life.
I'm so relieved to hear this news - that he can live with both conditions. I was really scared about a possible euthanasia suggestion again, so I'm very happy this vet specialist had that good news. I'm glad Skeletor has a manageable issue and that he has you. You're an amazing horse (and other fur kids) mom!
@@TheCleverCowgirl Please consider using homeopathy for Skeletor as some remedies can heal bones etc., a knowledgable homeopath can be very helpful and costs are usually very affordable.
@@TheCleverCowgirl With a horse in a trailer! Yikes! I'm so glad you had your dog for company and support. I'm often amazed by your inner strength. And I sure hope your back and arm are better now. Those things can be slow in healing, especially if you don't get to rest them. Thank you for caring so much about the horses, and doing all you can for them. Too many people only care what animals can do for them! I know poor sweet Skeletor will have the best life possible, and I hope you get a lot of joy from helping all of these wonderful animals! You deserve to have tons of joy! ❤❤❤
Few people can understand that a horse's value is not solely based on his soundness. My guy was not riding sound and he was the perfect horse for me. His personality was bright and cheerful, a total whackadoodle, with a gorgeous coat color while his body was a freaking trainwreck. He had a horrific injury in his younger years that landed him in the kill pens, but that personality and sparkly good looks got him out and kept giving him a chance to finally land in my backyard. Pretty sure he had 3 stops after the kill pen before he came to me. Skeletor may never be 100% sound, but he will be valued and loved for who he is and given every opportunity to remain comfortable and content while he is in CC's care.
"particularly scenic"...I've done that too. Switchback's and 25 miles per in the straight parts that didn't last long. We'll call you "nerves of steel", since you were hauling a horse trailer serving it's purpose! Bravo.
It shows how spiritual you truly are to see the best in this. You have a great deal of empathy. You and Skeletor belong together. I wish you both the best!
Hi CC! I can see in the comments of your followers that Skeletor has a really huge cheering section. Thank you for explaining the vet's examination and testing -- and findings -- so that we can clearly understand what's going on with him. Those extra visual aids are fabulous! Your quiet, but determined commitment to Skelly is not only admirable -- but immensely heartwarming -- especially to horse lovers like me. I look forward to continuing to follow his progress in the rehab program you're setting up. To say he's a lucky guy is an understatement. White light to Skelly -- and best regards to you and yours. JV
To hear you mention euthanasia was a shock . I felt your spirit twingle when you said it. To know he will live with you is comforting. Empathy is a gift that is occasionally a curse... IF THEY ONLY KNEW Ride on.....
Under your love and care, Skeletor will thrive and one day,be perfectly rideable. Thank God our prayers and " positive vibes " worked. Vet results were much better than expected. Onwards and upwards Mrs. C. I'm renaming you The Very Dedicated Clever Cowgirl!! Lol. Lisa,England 🏴 😎😎
So glad he's gonna still be around. He's such a character. It's not great news but it could be worse. So that's cool. The hardest thing for Skeletor is going to be being bored. He's a clever boy
Skeletor is so very lucky you found him. Your understanding of his situation and outcomes makes all the difference. He is such a vibrant spirit and I’m glad he has a good chance of living a wonderful life. Thanking you for all your teaching moments and for your dedication to the betterment of these last chance animals.
St least you have a definitive answer to why he has a slight lameness, and can now put a plan of action together for his future, well done you're doing an amazing job!
Skeletor by nature is an active, curious, and friendly horse not to mention young. If he was a human, he would be positive and wanting to stay the course. So his future will be less athletic but he will have his horse friends, Huckleberry, and toys. Unfortunate that his immediate future is less active but he has his owner in his corner and many years ahead. Best part to the vet visit is a much better understanding of his condition. I personally dislike not knowing what the true medical problems are. The path ahead is mapped out. Good video. Consecutive six hour days on the road are much for many of us including this senior. 😊
It is good you finally got some closure on Skeletor’s condition. Shame he can’t be a sport prospect. Hopefully, he can get well enough to trail ride and be someone’s companion one day.
That is the best bad news ever, CC. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into all these unfortunate horses that have fallen into bad circumstances. Skeletor was a lucky boy the day you walked into his life. I am so relieved that there will be many more Skeletor videos to come. :)
Epic video! so relieved for you and Skeletor. Sending gratitude for your dedication and the responsibility you take for these at risk horses. Also sending support via Amazon list 😊. It seems like this injury / issue is probably why such a well bred horse ended up in that condition at that auction. This happens a lot, doesn't it? Thank you for educating us about this.
The long trip, waiting, and expense of going to the specialist were worth it. Instead of uncertainty about what was really wrong or how to treat it, with the possibility of euthanasia hanging, you know exactly what his condition is and that he can have a healthy, pain-free life with you. He’s so lucky that when he was at his lowest and most hopeless, you found him and fell in love with him. Thank you for showing us his journey.
I’m happy you had a clear answer for his condition but I’m bummed to know it’s not ideal and a easy to fix problem. He’s really lucky to have found you
I think it's all good news. As a 71 year old woman with one fully torn rotator cuff and two nearly useless knees, I am just happy I can still walk at all, and it's not going to keep Skeletor up at night. He does need to keep moving so the arthritis doesn't set in, so I get that it is a tricky balance. Especially because he's so full of buck. But you can do it.
Thanks for the clear explanations and graphics! Sorry to hear the extent of Skeletor’s condition but thankful that the vet believes he can still have a good life. With you in Skeletor’s corner I have no doubts. I had no idea horses this young could have arthritic changes. Makes me wonder why just out of curiosity. So sad that he was (possibly) dumped. Ugh. Thank you for mentioning this is a real risk of any auction horse without a PPE. I have so much respect for you when you say you are aware of the potential cost and time any auction horse may require. You do things right CC!
Amazing care and attention to your horses. What a change already - those before and after pictures. Skeletor couldn't be a luckier horse that you took him on. We're pretty lucky too that you shared this event of taking him to the specialist. Thank you.
Life's bumps and cringe surprises all hapoen for a reason. Skeletor is where he needs to be...with you. Youll both gain from your loving relationship with him. ❤
Sorry about Skeletor's joints and ligament damage. I'm glad the fellow can take it easy, but wish he didn't need quite a bit of attention and care. He's fortunate to have you to love him. Hoping he heals quickly, with little or no pain, and no complications. Wishing you, the horses, your cat, and Huckleberry a wonderful spring.
Your videos have made me realize just how fortunate I was to have had a healthy horse. She was shipped from Oklahoma as a 3 year old and I bought her as an semi-broken 4 year old. I relied on Stable owners to provide proper supplements to keep her healthy. I rode her 21 years then arthritis and worn out knees kept me out of the saddle.
Nice of you to come visit us in the “Valley”…. You chose a good Veterinarian and clinic. I used the same Vet for my draft/x that injured his leg. Actually been using them for decades. Love their digital X-ray’s. You can see so much detail. Wish you the best with this young gelding.
As another being who has "issues", I am just grateful that Skeletor ended up with a compassionate owner like you. Extra bonus is you share him with us!
Im glad you have Skeletor and got him out of the auctions. My horse that was similar to Skeletor had a torn ligament in the back of the knee that promoted him to pasture pet. He enjoyed life with his harem of mares until the arthritis got too much.
You are SO BRAVE! Traveling with a horse across that rugged winter terrain. Wow. Great admiration for you. SO sorry you got bad news after all your work and hope and dreams. God Bless.
So glad you got a diagnosis. Sometimes that can be difficult to get but when you get the correct one, it can be much easier to fix the problem than without. Glad for Skeletor.
I’m so glad such a nice boy will get to live out his life! I hope you do get to ride him, with his lovely nature I think he would do his very best for you!! Thank you for saving him ❤
God bless you. I know you've been trying to move away from your "day job" and work with your horses full time. I know vet bills, ESPECIALLY specialists can be a roll of the dice. You have a nice sized audience. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Skeletor is very lucky to have you! Many owners would not go to these lengths or be happy about a possibility of riding him. I’m so glad he’s with you and has a long life ahead of him.
Watching this for the first time since you announced that Skeletor had gone into the unknown. It's heartbreaking to know that you and he didn't have very much time together but heartwarming to know that the two of you developed so much love for each other. You were both blessed.
Yay, Skeletor! I'm sorry he will have such a long rehab, but at least you know what his issues are, and you will be able to eventually ride him. Also, I am so glad that Euthanasia is off the table.
For someone who i've heard a few times apologising for their lack of videoing and editing skills, you definitely no longer need to do this. your videos, including internet footage, as well as your own footage, are brilliant..!! super explanatory, etc. Although skeletor was a financial loss, he's a great horse, and you love him, and he loves you, and that's all that matters. You are smart enough to know, what you lose on the merry go round, you pick up on the swing..!!. Best wishes from Australia
It's such a relief to hear there is hope for Skeletor! He's a beautiful boy and I have come to love him deeply. Hats off to the vet! What a wonderful vet. So glad you were able to have him see Skeletor. If anyone can help get Skeletor healthy, you can Clever Cowgirl. He's in the best hands. Have you ever used castor oil on your horses for ailments? I have heard it works wonders. Glad you, Skeletor and Huckleberry are back home safe and sound. Sending Skeletor lots of healing love vibes! ❤️🐎❤️
I tore my knee many years ago and due to poor medical care it never healed properly. It’s basically full of arthritis now making it very hard to walk. Keeping my fingers crossed for Skeletor. He’s so lucky to have you!
So happy to hear that Skeletor can live a long life in reasonable health and that you will help him achieve that. Love your channel and your work and your ethics! Good for you!
It may sound silly, but I actually had tears while you were talking about the permanance of his problem and holding my breath until you said he could live his life AND you would be able to ride him! Prayers answered! So, so happy he is with you. ❤❤❤
I was glad to hear Skeletor will be able to be rode. I was worried for him but I am so thankful that you bought him because anyone else would have him put down. He is such a neat horse.
So glad that he has this issue but so happy that he does not have to be euthanized. He is so beautiful and funny that I would have been heartbroken as I am sure you would have been as well. I love your wonderful personality and how much you understand that sometimes you just have to accept things and go on. You such calm and Mello person and that makes its much easier to deal with. Best wishes to skeletor! Sincerely, Sandy from New York❤
bittersweet! enjoyed yet another movie!!! I love the way you make your content ,perfect for my Saturday morning, its raining here in NC, love seeing any interaction with skeletor he's a keeper ❤
I'm so grateful for you Clever Cowgirl. And so glad Skeletor is with you and that you knew it could be a long haul. Really you were his only chance and thank God you got him. You are kind and compassionate and willing to take the long road with the horses, and so few are. And you have tremendous knowledge on so many horse issues. I am 63 and wish I could go back 40 years and be friends with you and learn from you. Congratulations Skeletor, you hit the jackpot with this woman !!
Not just the best of news for you or the horse following this visit to see this expert specialist BUT at least you have some realistic evidence, advice and opinion on what is a likely possible future in the long term for both of you. i'm really looking forward to seeing how this develops. Incidentally total congratulations on making this huge trip towing the trailer and with Huckleberry for a travelling companion. Regards Dan
i truly wished i was living closer to you, i would volunteer to do any chores just to have horses like you?? i have always loved horses when i was young, but married and with children i can’t pursue my dream… but if i was closer, i would volunteer to help you.. thank you for the love you’ve given to these majestic animals that’s looked down on as worthless?!? we need more people like you in this cruel world?!
At first I had to stop reading your comment and check the name on it, to see if Ihad written it and forgotten that I'd done so! I really did! You opening statement is EXACTLY what I've said in my own posts here to Clever Cowgirl! Once I saw your name, I read the rest of the post. But I'm still a bit startled by it. I've said exactly the same thing in comments here, and in comments to different videos by CC! It would be great fun to do it together! But sadly I'm in Alberta, and I couldn't afford to travel there right now. I often think how much she needs some help! And I wonder where the heck her husband is. But that's not my business. I don't even know CC's name, but she is one incredible lady, and I would just love to be able to help her! ❤❤❤
@@cattymajiv i have plenty of time and expense to live on, but it’s my children that i couldn’t do it… i wanted to buy a country home with land to raise horses, but my kids are allergic to horses, so that’s my biggest problem i can’t do… my wife knows that i love horses, but i have to give it up, because my kids are allergic to them…if they weren’t i would adopt mustangs and horses like cc doing…
Great news about Skeletor. And his being in your most capable hands, he will live a long and useful life. Loved the visit with your friends mustangs, beautiful animals. Keep up the good work!

Skeletor has landed in the perfect home. Had he gone to a performance home, his future would look pretty dim and he may have ended up back at an auction or worse.
Absolutely relieved, thank you amazing lady! He found the sbsolute best. Love Huckleberry's patience too, such a long trip in all senses but at least there is a future.
Yes, I'm quite relieved to know that Skeletor will be able to live a pain-free, happy life. I was really afraid of a somber diagnosis and that putting him to sleep would be the only humane thing to do. So glad it's not the case, phew! 🤠❤
Thank you for bringing us along with you. I'm glad you received answers to his problem. The diagnosis is half the battle won. Management of his condition is the other half . I know you will be successful in his recovery of his condition. He is so blessed to have you as his owner. I know all of your hard work on his behalf will blossom in to a well cared for, happy , life loving ,Skeletor. He will live his best life ,in the best conditions, in the best care. I think he will live a long greatful life because of you . Someone who saw his potential, his love of life, his is the one despite all the odds against him , will prove to the world he is a amazing horse 🐎! I'm so glad his condition is manageable. ❤So happy to hear that Skeletor’s diagnosis is not a death sentence! Sending you all of my love, hugs and,and prayers for a speedy recovery!❤️🩹
Skeletor will continue to flourish under your love and care! So heartwarming! I am Canadian so I totally understand your crazy weather lol.
I'm so happy Skeletor has a future. Keep up the good work cowgirl. In my prayers.
Skeletor is so lucky to be with you. ❤
I’m so glad such a nice boy will get to live out his life! I hope you do get to ride him, with his lovely nature I think he would do his very best for you!! Thank you for saving him ❤
Hopefully his recovery won't take as long as you're thinking ❤
God bless you. I know you've been trying to move away from your "day job" and work with your horses full time. I know vet bills, ESPECIALLY specialists can be a roll of the dice. You have a nice sized audience. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Both your work making these videos along with featuring of Equis as the main subject has me a regular visitor with the deepest appreciation ❤
Skeletor is very lucky to have you! Many owners would not go to these lengths or be happy about a possibility of riding him. I’m so glad he’s with you and has a long life ahead of him.
Having answers is so helpful...so glad he has you
Watching this for the first time since you announced that Skeletor had gone into the unknown.
I really liked him! Too bad he is so far away or I'd bother him all the time!
I tore my knee many years ago and due to poor medical care it never healed properly. It’s basically full of arthritis now making it very hard to walk. Keeping my fingers crossed for Skeletor. He’s so lucky to have you!
Wow, thinking back to my “horsey” days. We were extremely lucky to have only a few problems.
Great information. Thanks.
though bad news, I'm so glad it wasn't worst
So happy to hear that Skeletor can live a long life in reasonable health and that you will help him achieve that. Love your channel and your work and your ethics! Good for you!
It may sound silly, but I actually had tears while you were talking about the permanance of his problem and holding my breath until you said he could live his life AND you would be able to ride him! Prayers answered! So, so happy he is with you. ❤❤❤
Great news that you'll be able to ride Skeley one day. I'm looking forward to see your rehab plan.
This is great news! Knowing what is happening is one. Knowing that he will be able to have a happy life is the second (especially in your care).
I was glad to hear Skeletor will be able to be rode. I was worried for him but I am so thankful that you bought him because anyone else would have him put down. He is such a neat horse.
Beautiful storytelling here. Nice pacing. Enjoying spending time with you this morning. Still watching … waiting for outcomes. ❤
Its great that you're honest about the joys & sorrows.
Wishing you much more of the former ❤
Ugh! This premier will happen at 4 am my time. Will probably have to watch the replay.
Regards Dan
Sad news for such a young horse and that is possibly why he ended up where he did 💔
i truly wished i was living closer to you, i would volunteer to do any chores just to have horses like you?? i have always loved horses when i was young, but married and with children i can’t pursue my dream… but if i was closer, i would volunteer to help you..
thank you for the love you’ve given to these majestic animals that’s looked down on as worthless?!? we need more people like you in this cruel world?!
Glad you finally got some answers. Love what you are doing. And really enjoyed the car ride!
This made me so happy to know he is going to be ok! And I know 💯 that he is in the best care he can be in!! ❤️
Lucky for Skeletor that he is in your caring hands.
Great news about Skeletor. And his being in your most capable hands, he will live a long and useful life. Loved the visit with your friends mustangs, beautiful animals. Keep up the good work!
He is a great guy!❤❤❤ thank you for going the extra mile to get a second opinion! If he could talk, he would be saying Thanks Mom!!!
He has such a PERSONALITY!!!❤
I'm so glad there is hope for Skeletor! Praying for the best outcome for him. You are a fantastic Cowgirl for him. I love how caring you are for your horses, Huckleberry and Tiny! ❤greetings from Henrietta NY.
Skeletor has landed in the perfect home. Had he gone to a performance home, his future would look pretty dim and he may have ended up back at an auction or worse.
You are an amazing mother to your horses.
He is so lucky that he is with you & given a chance to have a new normal life. I hope his healing goes well for him.
Thank God he didn't need to be put down. I really enjoy his spunky ways. Hopefully he can keep them at bay though at least long enough to heal. ❤
This reminds me of the 5 cent koi I saved from a feeder tank. That was great news that he can live a long life!
He definitely is happy to be home. Huckleberry too he's too cute for words.🐕💕 I love senior dogs! There the best! Greetings from Pennsylvania my senior dog Sophie -lea and I are always excited for the on going stories from the The Clever Cowgirl.
