- This was my entry to the Pwnisher VFX CGI Render competition challenge with a narrated animation breakdown behind the scenes of how it was created! This project I created a 'Viking Funeral', saying goodbye to their leader. I had a great time making this and learnt a lot!
I hope you enjoy! Check out the channel for more content and tutorials, or feel free to visit my other social media pages:

That's amazing! I absolutely love Blender and the support network of tutorials and feedback is better than any software I've used. Thank you so much for the comment :)

Bro what that mouth rig looked so nice! I love the outcome!
Thank you so much! Really glad you like it :)
Another amazing tutorial. I love it
Thank you! :)
This is so wholesome, so beautiful. The storytelling within seconds is ace. Nailed it man. You could make a whole course out of this. Would love to see an indepth video/tutorial on the whole thing.
Thank you so much! It really means a lot :) This is the style of animation I love making so there'll definitely be more tutorials covering these sorts of techniques in the future!
@@lewisanimation can't wait for it. Seeing your breakdown was extremely impressive and makes me want to learn so many new things.
Better than many stuff from the top 100.
The judgement was... something
Wes Anderson animation style, looks fantastic!
Thank you so much! :)
Absolutely Brilliant ❤
Thank you so much! :)
Excellent work - love the look - wish I was so skilled
Thank you very much I really appreciate it! :)
Yo! Just wanted to say this inspired me to start creating my own stylized Viking character. I definitely cannot make anything near this but I hope I can create at least some kind of animation of the Vikings, I have ideas for ones too. Thanks for the video!
Amazing! Really glad the video inspired you :D There's definitely a lot of opportunity to create really good looking textures with viking characters. Definitely look into Blender's new hair system and just add it to everything, it'd work really well for a beard, but also to create a fur effect and can also look amazing just on regular cloth adding tiny fibres, that look especially good around the edges if you add a back light to your character. Really good luck with your character! :)
Fantastic
Thank you! :)
Outstanding job! Imagine a ton of work to do create a full 1 or 2 hours cartoon in such a manner. I have a desire to dive into blender myself, but still don't have a good starting point.
For beginners I always recommend Grant Abbitt tutorials, they're the videos I began learning Blender with :)
@@lewisanimation thanks, I'll definitely check this out!
I quite like how the vikings look.
Thank you! :)

This is great! Love the breakdown♥️
Thank you very much!
amazing
Thank you!
Exceptional!
Thank you :)
And this didn't make the top 100, why? honestly man, this is incredible, there was some shoddy stuff in the top 100 that didn't deserve to be there, this was a top 50 at least
Thank you so much I really appreciate it :)
I find many of these competitions serve some narrative. I once participated in a script competition, I made it to the top 10 but the winner was a script from a supposedly "8 year old" child. It was obvious he did not write it, but it was good for headlines.
adding our ✨unalived✨ character
:)
great job I really like the idea of the story
Thank you so much!
Insanely done. Nice work man
Thank you so much! :)
Please make a tutorial on how did you rig mouth and blandshape and control rig for mouth because I want to make talking animation and this is the easiest way to make that
So the main thing you need to learn is how drivers work, once you understand that it should start to make sense. The mouth opening had the bottom half of the jaw weight painted to a bone. Then you create shape keys for different mouth positions. Look up some tutorials on how drivers work and you basically add a driver to the shape keys, driven by the movement of a bone. I hope this helps! :)
Insane!
Sir, you earned a subscribersl
Thank you! Welcome to the channel :)
i am sorry and i know this might be late but could you make a tutorial about how you made these characters the style is Amazing!

@@lewisanimation You bet! Any interest in more challenges? I'm planning to start my own, and I'm garnering as much interest as possible!
How did you create the foam with the dynamic paint?
What is your HW requirements for your amazing work ? I like it.
cool rig man, would have been nice if the characters were looking to the dead
Thank you! I tried to achieve some of that with the eye animation but absolutely could use maybe some more clear head movement
How isn’t this Top 100 but Mixamo characters and (what feels like) 20 same-ish Monk characters are winning…
Nice
Thank you!
can we get a more in depth tut, like modeling and face animation
Waouuu...
Combien de temps vous a t il fallu pour réaliser ce là ?
How long did it take you to do this ?
It took about a month :)
