I KID YOU NOT ! This takes days not hours. For those who think its a 4 minute quick video thus the work was quick. Really appreciate the work by Lewis. I want to touch his feet out of respect. The hard work, dedication, self discipline and perseverance needed is top class.
The title of this video should be "a masterclass inside 4 minutes" 🤩🤩🤩.The animation , the thought process , the little tips and tricks are just phenomenal.
Gunna put this out there from one VFX artist to another. I think your work surpasses that of corridor digital, not sure why most people put them on this incredibly high pedestal. You should be incredibly proud of your work, looking forward to seeing more
Thank you so much! That's quite the compliment :) I think the pressure for Corridor to put out such regular videos can bring down the quality from what their maximum abilities are, they are all incredibly talented artists and I have always wondered what their peak combined efforts on a single project would look like as I'm sure it'd be unbelievable. I appreciate your comment and there's plenty more content on the way :D
I literally sat down today and started learning Blender. I'm a retired film maker and have all day to fool around. Thanks for the inspiration. Incredible talent. Cheers.
best breakdown ever, this just shows amount of work to perfect something and the amazing management of work you did there was amazing. so much i learned!
Im impressed by people able to paint background plate like that, using 2D element even real footage and HDRI for the Sky in 3D compositing is always the key to control highly detail scene, since we have PBR texture with normal map and roughness we can light 2.5D element, it's a good way to not over complicate layout , in stereoscopie it's a bit more tricky to sell flat element but thanks to normal map and depht map it's not impossible. If the object are far away and not in close-up shot.
Great work sir! I had to rewatch it multiple times. I absolutely looove the work you've done on the bear and if this was your first animating a qudruped then congrats! Everything blends together so well, keep it up!
Thank you so much! It means a lot coming from such a talented animator your work looks amazing! The best thing I can recommend is keep doing small projects each of which focuses on learning a new part of 3D each time and over time your skillset develops and you can start to combine them into bigger scenes like this. Also, to create large scenes on your own, you won't be able to make every single part of it, so you'll need to build up an asset library of textures, models, skies/background photos, and things like mixamo. There's a lot of tutorials and support online for Blender and other than that it just takes practice and consistency over time :)
