Before moving abroad it was my experience that when people from The United States talk about vacationing or temporarily living in Europe, usually cites like London, Paris, or Rome come to mind. And if you think of Spain, normally Barcelona is what Americans usually consider. I was introduced to Madrid through work. I immediately fell in love with the city. My wife and I both are very much happy in Madrid. In this video you'll find the top 5 reasons why we decided to move to Madrid and make it our home.

It's nice that you compare Madrid and New York City. But from the videos I've watched from both cities, Madrid looks like paradise and New York looks like hell. I would never dream of moving New York City, in the contrary in a heart beat I would move to Madrid having the chance, since it looks welcoming, clean, cultural and safe.
Thank You Robert. Yes Madrid is a great city, I’m very happy here. I’ll always love NYC though. A perfect world would be I could live in both in different parts of the year. Maybe in 10-15 years or so.
You LITERALLY said the key mantra that resonates with me when it comes to quality of live. “Work to live, not live to work!” I am definitely thinking about moving to Madrid now. 🙌🏽

I'm originally from Madrid and moved to New York with my husband who is from NYC. We lived in NY for 27 years and retired early 6 months ago and moved back to Madrid. We couldn't be happier and wouldn't have retired anywhere else. I also love NYC, however Madrid is much safer and in my opinion the infrastructure is more modern. I'm glad that you and your wife are happy here.

Great video! I would love if you made a video comparing NYC to Madrid. My Spanish husband and I are planning to move to Spain (likely Madrid) in the next few years, so hearing an American's perspective, especially as someone who used to live in NYC, would be great. Though I have visited Madrid, it seems to me that the everyday lifestyle would be similar to mine in Brooklyn with some additional perks.

Hi! Thank you for your interest in the video. I didn’t find the winter of 2021-22 difficult. Although I’d lived in Mexico for several years, I still had NYC toughness in me 😆 Madrid winters certainly aren’t as cold as New York.

I loved this video!. I had missed the first part and landed on the part where you said you were not a typical couple. I was completely puzzled and wondering if you had married someone from outer space or something. Then I realized what you were talking about. I am sorry you felt you had to make that distinction. I am not quite sure how or why things work the way they do in your country but please don't think you are not a typical couple, you are two beautiful human beings, just like anyone else. So you are as typical as two human beings that love each other and decide spend part of your lifes together. And you have bonus points for marrying a chilanga ;-).

Great comparison! We're Americans who lived in Spain for a year teaching English, but struggled to find a long-term way to live there. Now, we're living in Germany, but would absolutely LOVE to get back to Spain. What visa did you use to live in Spain if you don't mind sharing?
How about summers with 90+ degrees but no AC? Or is there a way to get AC?

Thanks for the video. I live with my family in Valencia. Currently we’ve been living here for four years now and we have three kids two years old six years old and eight years old and after four years living here we feel that it’s a small city our even call it a town probably Has the seat but we don’t use it that much. Nobody does here and just this small town mentality and basically there’s nothing to do so we were thinking about moving to Madrid and I can relate to you guys so it would be awesome to hear your opinion about living in Madrid with kids from the perspective of parents, so where do you take them? How do you entertain them, just you know the overall like are you if you’re an active family like us then where do you guys go with kids and so on so forth so if you can share that they’ll be amazing thanks
In Spain the police treat you with respect, they wont stop you just because you are black or any other race for that matter. The food is great and the night life in Spain in second to none. Enjoy Spain !!

Hi Todd! Thank you! I belong to Sergio Ramos by John Reid. It’s in Moncloa. Also the McFit chain is very popular. Reebok sports club in Salamanca is also popular. I don’t know much about pools unfortunately

I’d say yes, but you have to work hard in order to find a scenario in which you can earn enough to make a living wage in my opinion.

I’m not sure what your complaint is, do you want more music or more voice because I can hear my voice fine, and if you want the music louder I’m sorry. I have lots of views and plenty of likes and you seem to be the only person to have a problem with the music and voice balance. Perhaps in my first video when I was getting started, that is a viable complaint but this video that you commented on was edited professionally. And if it was unwatchable, I apologize I hope you can find a video that is watchable.
