Too bad that after one good bike like r80GS model, BMW cant make new GS for this kind of riding. It's like promoting standard family SUV by showing rallyheavy duty parts that are not part of actual car.
There is no market for these expensive prototype upgrades. BMW has gained public attention, with the R series bikes in the 1st wave of involvement and F series in the 2nd wave. Sales went well.
dont get me wrong E&S tv ktm's are fine machines but when it comes to raids like the dakar bmws are better how else could gaston rahier won the number of times that he did when he rode for bmw?
Moto Rad yes a 125 would suck in this race, and probably wouldnt last very long. spike spiegel arent ktm's winning the dakar nowadays? All in all its more about the rider and a bit of luck, as todays bikes are very similar in same class. I like like the xr650, hope i have one in the future as a adventure bike
Did he jumped off the bike before coming to a stop. I don't see how else he could ride such tall bikes at 5'3"
