Just happened on mine! Same cylinder 2 as well, 94k miles 2014 golf. Took the plug off, cleaned at the hole around the plug. Sprayed in some good stuff to give me the best shot! Little spanner and slowly slowly putting pressure on … it came free quite quickly (cold engine). Gave the hole another good clean out and put the replacement (Bosch) in and she works like a dream! Garages wanting 120+ to replace a single glow plug. I know risk of snapping them but if you take just a little bit more time and ease it out - you’ll be fine! Torque setting was 17nm for those who want to know.
Thank you for good video and description. I appreciate that you mentioned all important steps including the unscrewing of the glow plug. Wish you many success in your repairs and videos.
I used 1/4 socket to remove. 3/8 were too large. I sprayed the plug with wd40 for a couple of days. The day I removed the plug I took the car a good run to get that engine hot. Very easy to come out.
I think there are two types of engines. 3 + 1 with pressure sensor. or all 4 with pressure sensor. I have a 3 + 1 sensor. it is necessary to be very careful when replacing the glow plug with the sensor
Hello, 25Nm is the torque value for who is interested. First 3 glow plugs are like the one illustrated and quite cheap( bosch), the one for cylinder 4 has a pressure sensor and is pretty expensive and slightly longer( beru). And yes are 4.4 volts Did you do a cambelt on this engine yet?
@@paulmayell2686 depends on engine code some have 4 normal plugs some have only one, seems like is not a precise cylinder and some engines have all 4 with pressure sensors.
Check the resistance value with a multimeter, between the head of the glow plug to the - of the battery, if the ohm value is more than 0.8 to 1.0 i would recommend replacing if you keep the car outside or you live in a cold place, keep in mind glow plugs are also used to heat up fuel to increase temperature in the chamber for the dpf
@@Xuzyy One of them blow out last week. Check engine on the instrument claster appeared. The rest of the three were about 8-9 moms. I had all of them changed for bosch.
Does anyone know the fault code that appears for this issue? Was it p0672? I think my number 2 cylinder glow plug needs replaced……although I might change them all, not sure how expensive they are as I think they all have a cylinder pressure sensors built in! 2016 golf 7 1.6tdi.

Thank you. You have helped me so much in other videos also. Please do more engine repairs for Golf Mk7

The best one-hand mechanic! 👍
Hot engine, wd40 and easygoing. The plug has been changed, no problem at all. Saved 100eur and thanks man for your video. Car vw golf mk7, 1.6tdi
You should use white special Ceramic Grease before put them back to the cylinder head Mate;)
Thank you man!! In my case Seat Leon III (2014) all the 4 glow plugs seem to be equal. Quite easy following your instructions.

Great video. Am I correct that number 3 plug has got a sensor on it and is very expensive compared to others. If not needed will change other 3 only?
The 3rd has a pressure sensor and is nearly £200 in UK. I'm considering only changing the 3 'normal' ones.
Great video! Very nice camera work.
hello friend, I would like to know how to remove the injectors, thank you. good job
Como siempre BIEN EXPLICADO., un Saludo
Thanks
great video. are all 4 spark plugs the same? For the Seat Leon there are 3 (03L963319A) and one with a sensor on the cylinder 3 (03L905061G).

Its 12Nm for PSG one and 17Nm for other 3 (non-psg)

Is is adviced to have them change despite they are good (no errors vcds)? Mine are 8 old and 180000 km so far. Would you recommend to replace them?
