Respect to the Mighty Springboks and their Super teams. Be a shame to sever ties with them. Watching this video after the 2022 summer test series just really emphasises the need to keep the SH in tact. You could see the benefit to Wales and Ireland after playing a season against the Saffa teams in the URC. And, in tandem, the loss to NZ after not having those Saffa teams in super rugby this year. Also, AB v BOK games are the greatest rivalry in world rugby. 6 of 9 WCs between them. Bags loads of respect for each other and the clash of the two main schools of how the game should be played. As an irish fan, having SA in the 6ns would be a massive boost but to loose the RC, fpr all intents and purpose, would be catastrophic (mostly for the ABs).

Dont get me wrong the North is the right place for SA players to play went it comes to club level as the Rand is simply not strong enough and most the first choice bok players are there already. When it comes to internationally it would be a massive mistake for SA to join the 6 nations. The 6 nations is a special tournament because of history. The fans want to see the ABz & Boks play if world rugby doesn't see that then they are crazy.

As a South African and ardent Springbok supporter I can truthfully say we have enormous respect for the All Blacks. We also really enjoy watching our team play against all the southern hemisphere teams as they interpret the rules similarly and the competition is always formidable and physical. Only issue usually is time zone related but that is minor in my opinion. On that point, playing the northern hemisphere is nice as the games are broadcast in prime time for the South African public to enjoy. I do hope rugby as a sport develops and grows even more in countries like Japan, Australia and Argentina. My hope is that whatever changes come to pass will be to the benefit of rugby as a sport for all countries and nations and not for the bottom line of franchises trying to sign the most lucrative deals. I think the uber-prices obtained by individual soccer stars is a farce (but then again I do not have ANY regard for soccer as a sport) and I earnestly hope that rugby as a professional sport would find that golden zone where players are remunerated properly and clubs generate sufficient revenue but that the integrity of the sport does not get left behind.

I have for some time wanted to see a North-South setup where you have five teams in each.
North would go back to five nations for a two-year cycle, with a tier two of the next best five, with promotion-relegation. South would be the current four RC teams with a combined Islanders team as the fifth (like WI does for cricket).
Now, however, I am liking a timezone-based model. You'd have three zones: western, central and eastern.
Western would be around the Americas, so USA, Canada, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina. Of course, the Pumas would clean up ... for a while. But give it a few seasons and we'll see something from the others, I'm sure.
Central would be EMEA, with the current 6N, SA, Spain, Georgia, and so on. You still have a two-tier system here, with a top five and the rest, promotion-relegation every two years.
Eastern would be the Australasia and PI teams. NZ, Aus, Japan, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, etc. Perhaps the PI as individuals, perhaps as a combined team.
    Thoughts?

Even stupid could see this coming....you don't get better by playing teams beneath you...
The bok /kiwi rugby rivalry is the best thing for rugby....
The fact that south Africa was the only country to win their series against the north is no accident...
Despite all the criticism against them, critics have failed to completely understand South Africa's ability to change ,be it very subtle change ,and adapt their play to the apponents they are facing....
The second test match against Wales taught them a lot,but it also taught the viewers like me a lot.
South Africa,s game will always be built around their front row, because no country can produce such calibre in their front row like south Africa can...imagine from mattfield to Eben, from Bakkies to Archie Snyman. C'mon which other country can do that...NZ is unable to do it,Australia can't do that.....no one can do that...
Do you think south Africa has only one Cheslin Kolby....you're kidding yourself....south Africa has dozens of them in the making...
In short no one can produce players the calibre of the Boks in such numbers...who have the tall and strong timber upfront and better still great numbers of them....guys like Franco Mostert and baby face ,I forget the guys name now...
NZ and Australia have been pinching pacific players to fill their jerseys for decades....,something south Africa needed to do ....
Now that pacific players are playing against NZ and aus, they will benefit even more than NZ and aus has from the stupid tournament that they've organised....
NZ needs too understand that lions don't get better by playing against sheep....they should dump the alliance they have with Australia and get back to playing rugby on all levels against their old for the Boks....who are going from strength to strength....
Everyone is going gaga over France, but I know that the Boks can and will defeat them ,of that I'm sure....we have done it before and we will do it again....it is nz that must fear the French ,not south Africa...
What if south Africa didn't experiment in the second test against Wales, they would have killed the series there and then...
Australia and NZ are suffering through shear stupidity....you can never improve if you want to play against the japanese,Fijians,Tongans and Samoans, those are second tier teams.....the problem with Australian rugby isn't rugby,it's about mismanagement off the field,it's about lost opportunities, players like Israel Folau were let go because of political expediency....
When Australian rugby ran into decline ,they looked to NZ to support there Pacific rugby plan ,but NZ was too dumb to see that the plan came about because Australian rugby went broke....with NZ on board south Africa got the flick and headed north....the end result is a wounded, limping Kiwi and a bruised kangaroo, they have no money,no depth in players and no freaking idea how to get out of the political rugby mess they're in....their brands are tainted and their supporters are pissed

The biggest and most intestine games ever are the SA v AB games .... SA fans want that, but time zones for ppl watching suck on TV rights whereas TV rights and the Pound/Euro to the Rand earnings will make a huge influence on what decision occurs to the comparison of $. I live in Aus and frankly feel the rugby has sucked here ever since Eddie Jones started to go off the plot towards end of Wallaby career. The Pacific region needs major major $ injection and it would be truly amazing to see growth of players and quality rugby for the region..... but if the AB and Boks could do a test series every year then that would cover all my bases of happiness rugby wise ..... and just maybe the interest and the quality of those tests would even go up coz lets face it based on current feelings the buys would be soooooo excited to play each other they would put every thing they have on the table for the games let alone to be in the squads...... its also really nice to hear the compliments these guys put out about how they want the Boks to stay .... thats a really nice thing to hear - respect!!!!!! As a South African, I would love to know if this is due to covid-19? or is SA rugby trying to go other ways due to politics in this country?

I'm a South African, and I'm telling everyone rite now. If we go up and play in England and no longer play the All Blacks, than I will NOT support such a competition. As much as the Boks are in my DNA so is playing the All Blacks. I can NOT accept a Bok reality without the Best competition in the world. And that to me is the Blacks

Early reports were that the Boks were given the boot by NZ.Now the reality is beginning to set in were they to move to the North.

SA leaving would be sad but won't be detrimental to All Black nor Wallaby international competitiveness on the field. If you're talking World Cup, that's tournament rugby which is a different beast from test rugby and I still don't think SA & 6 Nations will have a major advantage, it's never proven so. It's about a viable 💰💵 professional rugby competition that keeps our players downunder and our coaches on their toes. Without SA players in our club competition we still have a depth of player talent in the Oceanic Asian region that is the envy of the world. It's the Money, honey.

Of course it will be to the ABs disadvantage. I also think it will be to SAs disadvantage. The support base for the ABs is very arrogant. I predicted their downfall from the no1 spot and not winning the RWC. Boy did I get owned for those comments.....until I was right. I can see from the outside that the ABs are on a downward curve. This will hurt the ABs, no doubt. And as a South African I love the ABs. I really do. I watch all the ABs games. I have great admiration for the team. Just calling it as I see it.

@@graeme8768 Although if you meet most ABs supporters, they aren't arrogant in person. YT is an unhealthy place to judge a nation of people cos 15yso are allowed to come on here and make comments! And obv a 15yo ABs supporter will be arrogant, cos the ABs have been world champs since they could remember

@@graeme8768 Not having regular contact with South African players is unfortunate but NOT a disadvantage as you might think. We have quality talent in players, coaches, feeder systems in NZ, Australia, Japan and the Pacific to have a viable professional club competition attracting corporate sponsors and broadcasting deals. That is all that is needed to develop players and coaching strategies for international competition. I hardly think that is being arrogant, the ANZAC spirit has always been to "give it a crack mate!" Regarding the rankings, Wales were #1 for 2 weeks from 19 Aug 2019, after Ireland def. Wales the ABs went top without even playing. Ireland def Wales again and became #1 on the 7th Sep 2019 through to the World cup, ABs went in 2nd. The points system is a weird one in which many variables are taken into consideration before points are subtracted and transferred between the sides at the determination of the match. At the same time because of a shortened Championship we only played each other once, SA won and the ABs lost to Australia and came third, but we beat them later 36 - 0. We also didn't have the Northern hemisphere test matches that allow for points gathering or losing, so it was obvious that the ABs might lose it's top spot before the WC, I don't think you're a visionary there. Regarding the WC winning Boks and the ABs they drew 16 all in Championship match in Wellington before the WC, and the last 2 matches before that were wins apiece in 2018, both by only 2 points, both wonderful games. Graeme, the professional era has levelled the playing field largely with the help of many of our players and coaches having gone not just north but all over the globe, just like South Africans too, to spread the rugby gospel. So to think that the ABs can stay #1 in rankings for large periods of time (85% since rankings began to 2020) probably has come to an end, as I have pointed out we ourselves have much to blame for that in our rugby pilgrimages and following the "money honey", sorry to inform you but you didn't possess a crystal ball on your own. We've still got something special downunder mate. Thanks for your thoughts anyway.
