Maul being the most powerful Sith in "recent" history doesn't exactly mean much as most of the Baneite Sith are featless and when going on feats and accolades he'd lose to individuals such as Malgus and Revan. B. It can be inferred that the people who revived Maul in legends had known how powerful Vader was and adjusted Maul to match that strength, especially considering Maul was absolutely TERRIFIED of Vader in cannon.

Well, with Maul's master being Windu, he learnt to use vappad. Anakin made mistakes in the battle using a ton of darkness, which made Maul really OP. Maul's strenght can't be compered to his in og because now Maul went trough diffrent training and diffrent life.
I tried to explain my reasoning in this video. Anakin is still young at the time of order 66 and immature. Maul is a full blown Jedi knight and one of the strongest at that time. He is a master of Vaapad which he learnt from Windu but he's notably proficient in the technique because he has a strong inner darkness due to him being Mother Talzin's son. His Jedi training allowed him to conquer this inner darkness and control it. During his final duel with Anakin, he releases this bottled up inner darkness that he has learnt to control and lets it flow through him and uses it to fuel his Vaapad, now feeding off the dark side coming from Anakin (who is extremely powerful) and his own inner darkness. The combination of these two resulted in Maul achieving extreme power in that moment which allowed him to defeat the still young and immature Anakin. Vaapad is the perfect technique for someone like Maul with a strong inner darkness which is why I believe he would've been a stronger Jedi with this technique than he was as a Sith. If Anakin was an older Sith, it might have been a different story. Hope that helps.

Tbh I believe if Anakin was taught by Darth Sidious from the time after Naboo, he would've been much more competent in the force and having many more abilities. I believe he would've been pushed to the extremes like Sidious did with Maul in canon and would've reaped better results. He would've been taught by Sidious, due to his potential in the force, to be more cunning and reliant on the force. I personally don't think he would've lost to Maul. The argument for Vapaad is a valid one, however I would argue that Anakin's potential explored in the dark side would overcome. Great video still. Savoge Oppress was given to count Duku to replace the dathmerien assasin he betrayed and abandoned on the battlefield for dead because she failed him 1 toomany times, he was ordered by Darth Sidious to kill her but he thought it would be more prudent and efficient to order the droid forces to withdraw and leave her on the battlefield to get killed. She escaped and fled home to Dathamear and to the witch and high priestes of the dathmearien night sisters looking for a way to exact revenge. The night sisters had a custom of solecting mates and husbands from the strongest of their men who were all anexed to dathmear's moon, the witch and Ventress went to the moon to pick her a man not just as a husbind but as an undercover assassin for herself, they knew Duku would consider returning to Dathmear for a replacement for Ventress and they'd get him to choose a brainwashed by magic sleeper assasin Savoge Oppress Darth Mull's lil brother. Savoge's hidden mission was to accept count Duku's training making him a more lethal assasin and at a cirten point his brainwashing was to take effect and make him kill duku, at that point though he failed and was betrayed by Ventress so he returned to the high priestess and recives an amulet that was enchanted to help him find his brother and new master Darth Mull. If Mull turned to the jedi way I imagin there'd be a short fightva few minutes of them trying to talk 1 another down and try to get the other to join them being the stronger of the 2 Mull would win and being that Darth Mull would've most likely just turned to the light side of the force the council would see this as a threat because they're both too old to addapt to the jedi way unless they recive special training, the way of the force jedi or sith requires there to be 2 1 master 1 padawon or 1 master 1 apprentice but Mull and Opress would have to be both taken on as padawons by the same master, the curruption of the dark side within them and the manipulation of the night sisters magic would be so deep that permonently seporating them could cause a trama to activate the magic and send them on a murder spree at least untill their deprogrammed and their minds are clear, in my opinion there's only 2 jedi masters who could acomplish this master Yoda who sense taking on teaching young padawons at the temple has a more flexable schedual school only lasts 8 hours a day or someone with more experience in the darkside and the ability to help them clear their minds themselves master Qui gon Jin. If Qui gon cant deprogram them he's more likely able to convince the high priestess herself to, her double dealing which ultamitly led to the destruction of the night sisters aside shes most likely to realise the fact that she's better off dealing straight up with the jedi forsee the future of the sith and death of her people and make a pact with the jedi to avoid it all so if Mull turns to the light side of the force his brother is shore to fallow, though it's deeply ruted in the darkside Dathmier changes sides and joins the republic, Hasoge Ventress who ends up living on the republic capital as a merk for higher might end up returning home, she might realise her husband is a jedi and stay, she might end up looking for him and things might get interesting. I've seen videos that say Ventress gets involved with the tracker jedi and her death makes him get revenge but in the end he returns to the jedi so there's 2 possibilities there.

If Anikan was raised with the same sort of focus and hatred maul had then he would likely be unstoppable. Bulq never had the same level of success against dooku using vapaad and ball fought mace to a standstill. Also giving into the dark side would likely completely negate any effects of vapaad

Maul is shown to kill few jedi knights and a couple masters. However none of them were particularly renowned duelests like kit fisto, plo, Yoda, mace, Anikan or dooku.

Vapad isn't actually about power it's more about controlling the dark and turning it against its enemy when mastered. Basically the stronger in the dark side the enemy is the stronger the form gets.

Remeber maul lost half his power after being cut in half. Had maul never had half his organic body replaced by homemade cybernetics I think he could have been as powerful as dooku or mace
I'm not sure if this is based in legands or canon, but I don't think Maul would be eligible for the rank of master unless he had trained a padawan into knighthood. I can't recall where it was stated, but I remember it being said that this particular law was one of the reasons Anakin was never given the rank of master - becuase he was ineligible as his padwan, Ahsoka, left the order and never reached knighthood. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, though, or if this was only true in legends.
This is interesting sense I always though of Obi-Wan as the embodiment of the Jedi, Ahsoka of the light-side (detached from Jedi), and Maul the dark-side (detached from Sith). This makes the flip is interesting. I never though Mother Talsin to be the pushover she seems in this though. I always thought her Sidouses equal and rival. The fact that she would die to Maul alone feels absurd. The fight was stacked ever so greatly in their favor! Also that she would work with Sidous, much less as his apprentice, feels out of character.

Maul is actually on par with Yoda in his Prime, at least in Legends. Dooku is close to that, but lacks some of Maul's Unique Talents.

Anakin was Way Underpowered in Star Wars. He was the Purest embodiment of The Force and yet got his Ass kicked by Any Random Force user.

Vapad isn't actually about power it's more about controlling the dark and turning it against its enemy when mastered. Basically the stronger in the dark side the enemy is the stronger the form gets.

I'm not sure if this is based in legands or canon, but I don't think Maul would be eligible for the rank of master unless he had trained a padawan into knighthood. I can't recall where it was stated, but I remember it being said that this particular law was one of the reasons Anakin was never given the rank of master - becuase he was ineligible as his padwan, Ahsoka, left the order and never reached knighthood.

This is interesting sense I always though of Obi-Wan as the embodiment of the Jedi, Ahsoka of the light-side (detached from Jedi), and Maul the dark-side (detached from Sith). This makes the flip is interesting. I never though Mother Talsin to be the pushover she seems in this though. I always thought her Sidouses equal and rival. The fact that she would die to Maul alone feels absurd. The fight was stacked ever so greatly in their favor! Also that she would work with Sidous, much less as his apprentice, feels out of character.
