I am kind of a new producer and I don't make rap or any music with lyrics. So I will always choose soundcloud, but honestly all spotify music is bad for me other than certain uploads from soundcloud that are in spotify.
Soundcloud's suggested songs that automatically play when a playlist ends, are always spot on for my tastes! It's even recommended songs sometimes from artists with like 100 followers and yet the song is always surprisingly good! Soundcloud FTW.
Ong I used to be on Spotify on android first then I got iOS so I went fuck it lemme try AppleMusic for a month and it was good at start but it is TRASH, if u like mainstream music Nd not interested in other upcoming artist it’s for you and the whole mechanical thing was retarded with radio always playing the same songs over and over like bruh don’t u have like 100+ millions songs. I personally have both downloaded on my phone and I use both quite often, but, and this may sound weird, I actually didn't like the experience of Spotify because they heavily pushed mainstream music and I much prefer listening to independent, underground artists; and Soundcloud pushed a lot of that type of music towards me, and I much preferred it overall. So I went ahead and bought Soundcloud's premium service so I can enjoy all the independent artists I want without ads.
The thing is, many audiophile producers are less recognized but still keep up their recording quality above mainstream artists, all while doing this in their "bedroom studio." SoundCloud has many more remixes of songs that spotify doesn't support and some duplicates of songs that are available from go+
I used spotify for like 6 months or something, then I found soundcloud and woah, the algorithm is amazing all I can say, I know it has bad songs and all but I am checking the comments, and well. When you listen to a song in soundcloud, it gives you like 50 new songs that are similar to that song you listened before, all I can say about the ads is that my god, in every freaking song I played in spotify ads, in soundcloud, well. It does have some ads but not as many as spotify, I'll still use soundcloud after all, 1 year of using it and I didn't had any problem. Got the air pods pro 2 rn and SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music all sound drastically different. But it’s insane how louder SoundCloud is. Apple Music uses Dolby so you can hear where sounds are suppose to sound but SoundCloud makes it sound like all the sounds are in sync so you can pin point every different sound while sounding fused together. It’s crazy but Spotify is the worst out of the both so I won’t cover it. idk if im the only one that noticed it but when using soundcloud compared to Spotify i actually get more sound quality and (even tho bad for the ears) louder sound on full folume
Interesting. I have been using SoundCloud free for 5 years and have NEVER got a SINGLE Advertisement. It's full of independent artist music from amazing covers, remixes to heavily influenced freestyles. I have been listening to Lo' Fi music which SoundCloud has plenty of. Also, every liked or replayed music has its own playlist ("more like this" kind) + Playlist never ends, it adds more music based on those in playlist. Every day I just play SoundCloud Weekly and went through the whole playlist and more for a whole week. Then play next SoundCloud Weekly. It's that easy. (I have never got any ads so. I just leave it playing without any distraction)
@@CharlesCleyn yes, their recommendation algorithm suggests some good artists. As you said, probably the spotify algorithm is more powerful, but I'm not into the "popular music" style from spotify

I also like how they recommend you "small" creators with less views cause the songs are rlly good and should have more attention! (sorry for bad grammar or if its not acurrate lol)
Honestly I've tried both Spotify and SoundCloud. I honestly like Spotify better just because it has more songs. I don't care how it sounds if it's clearer or anything like that. I just think that the last time I tried SoundCloud it didn't have the original music I was looking for. It forced me to listen to the remix unless I buy the Go Plus. So I like Spotify a little better. But if you're a SoundCloud fan I don't have anything against that.
I use both but have family premium since my family uses it a lot. I like soundcloud mainly because of the profile settings and that it is easier to find good independent artists.
To be honest, for me I would say SoundCloud is better in terms of using it for free. For Spotify free version, you can't play one specific song and you can't loop it. But for SoundCloud you can loop a song and play one specific song.

I hate algorithms because it keeps you locked into existing tastes. I used to have 3TB worth of music I had spent years collecting and the drive died. Best and worst day. Discovered a whole bunch of new artists that year I wouldn’t have otherwise been compelled to seek out. For that reason I jump around once the algorithm seems to know me. Last year was Spotify. Previous year was Apple Music. Currently on SoundCloud. I have definitely been listening and discovering way way more artists on SoundCloud. I may stick with this.

He means that for example " oh boy, I would like to listen to THIS particular song" in free SoundCloud you can do it right away. In free Spotify it's a random playlist with the song you would like to hear and many others. And I personally hate when they do that (this only happens on the free Spotify app, the desktop version don't do this)

Oh and btw,the soundcloud now has a wayyy better design and idk,idc about recommendations of new artists, songs.
I love underground 90s hiphop, hate ads and overall i just think soundcloud is better. Only complaint is some music is not available on my country, but I can always listen to the sped up or slowed down music which usually is just as good.
I dumped spotify after few checks , I can't find there many independent artists there and also interace is more clean for me and yeah 1:24 sums it up for me
As a composer I like SOundCloud, but I cant stand the bots. Spotify does not seem like a good fit for my music or the way I tend to work. One day if I polish up some tracks. If I am collaberating with other folks its a different thing If you want to just get stuff out there quickly and hopefully the recording, and composition is somewhat decent, SoundCloud is fine. Its the artists call. The more you put out the better it is. My genre is pretty specific and not popular, is it good ? thats subjective, I kind of like it Since the pandemic I am not even following my own rules and not all that inspired, There will come a day when I am soon, and I'll fire off more content with fewer disruptions In the meantime I am trying to figure out the music business, that side of my brain is working. (and giving me a migraine;)
I tried to like Spotify I really did, but it doesn't have nearly the amount of tracks as Soundcloud! For instance I was looking for Rock Bottom by Eminem, it's nowhere to be found on Spotify along with a bunch of his older music! Soundcloud had all of his old stuff! On top of that it's algorithm for my music has been perfect!! Spotify I was listening to Kansas Dust in the Wind, and then Slayer Reigning Blood comes on right after!?!?!? LMFAO!! I am over the Spotify hype!!! Plus I love DJ tracks, and sessions!!
Specifically on mobile, I cant even bare to use spotify free compared to soundcloud free because of the limited skips and lack of freedom over what you listen to. I prefer the desktop spotify experience to soundclouds though
Well I prefer listening to music made by "bedroom producers" and all of the aforementioned mainstream music on Spotify has a feeling to it that I simply can't put my finger on. Plus the almost double amount of songs on SoundCloud makes some of the weirdest of songs have a higher chance of being there.
I love sound cloud but sometimes it removes some songs from my liked songs and when I try to like them it automaticly removes the like… I guess idk how to explain it
As a amateur Dj using Rekordbox, I can't use Spotify without having to use a Spotify to mp3 converter. that's why I prefer SoundCloud, but also I quite like the small and unknown music producers, that nobody has ever heard about. I think, that the "souncloud weekly" or the "more of what you like" features are alright, but occasionally I find some songs, that are either too bad quality, badly produced or just too different from what I like.
*Who says Spotify doesn't provide anti-mainstream music. It depends on what you guys search for by the right key word. Once you play a good fave music/song they will geniusly give you next recommend songs or playing what suggested, which still sound similar. I think Spotify is really cool i found tons of good music on it. for me personally prefer Spotify even im anti fvcking mainstream tho.*
I use SoundCloud it’s free and I can find everything song I’m looking for A friend of mine was trying to look for a song the other night and she has Spotify and couldn’t find it I searched it in my SoundCloud app it was the first song that come up
Soundcloud is actually better.the ads aren't intrusive asf and the unreleased/ versions of songs are so easy to find. But my only problem from soundcloud is that HALF THE SONGS ARENT AVAILIBLE IN MY COUNTRY
I'm having a nightmare picking a music host. I want to embed guitar clips (not full songs). I've seen a number of guitar websites using SoundCloud but never Spotify Any suggestions? Note I want music hosting from a 3rd party like SoundCloud to limit bandwidth
1:37 "I can upload music on Spotify for free" 5:30 "On Spotify, You have to use a distributor between you and Spotify" You might want to clear that up.
I really like SoundCloud but what bothers me the most is that the app is getting more broken each update Now its either lagging or it proceeds to crash
Soundcloud has memes and VERY loose restrictions on what content can be posted there. Soundcloud has audio normalization. One has good music and the other has a platform that won't blow your eardrums out your dickhole. I wish i could continue to use soundcloud in good health but spotify has the upper hand here. Music quality is for nerds and i couldn't give two fucks about how deepfried the audio is.
I think you should start on soudncloud cus it's free and you can see whats out there in terms of move and game soundtracks in the indie world, there might be a lot!
Spotify only recommends signed artists. That's why I prefer Soundcloud. It has more interesting music. And I was able to discover A LOT of now very famous artists on Soundcloud way before they blew up. Soundcloud is the best!!!
I’m kind of a stick in the mud as far as my music goes. I was looking for a answer to my dead iPod which I had 4000 songs on seems like the suggestions for these new artists when creating a playlist would annoy me. Is it easy to create a stored playlist of 3-4000 songs and shuffle them when I want on Spotify? Also all this mainstream talk kind scares me I’m a classic rock guy will I find all my music from the 50’s,60’s,70’s and 80’s on Spotify

Oh and btw,the soundcloud now has a wayyy better design and idk,idc about recommendations of new artists, songs.
Spotify is like a freaking math problem !!
I love underground 90s hiphop, hate ads and overall i just think soundcloud is better. Only complaint is some music is not available on my country, but I can always listen to the sped up or slowed down music which usually is just as good.
I don't like how there are SoundCloud Go+ Songs. But some people upload slightly modified versions, allowing you to listen to the song.
true
Also the thing with Spotify's algorithm. It likes to recommend songs I've already listened, saved and download, I personally barely see anything new
what about the tastebreakers playlist? even that?
I dumped spotify after few checks , I can't find there many independent artists there and also interace is more clean for me and yeah 1:24 sums it up for me
As a composer I like SOundCloud, but I cant stand the bots. Spotify does not seem like a good fit for my music or the way I tend to work. One day if I polish up some tracks. If I am collaberating with other folks its a different thing
If you want to just get stuff out there quickly and hopefully the recording, and composition is somewhat decent, SoundCloud is fine. Its the artists call. The more you put out the better it is.
My genre is pretty specific and not popular, is it good ? thats subjective, I kind of like it
Since the pandemic I am not even following my own rules and not all that inspired,
There will come a day when I am soon, and I'll fire off more content with fewer disruptions
In the meantime I am trying to figure out the music business, that side of my brain is working. (and giving me a migraine;)
Soundcloud for sure!
What's your favourite soundcloud feature?
Charles Cleyn that i can play music for free! Without random tracks in my playlists that are unskippable!
Been using soundcloud for ages but gotta change to Spotify thanks Alexa
maybe get a home to
Weird i never got any ads using SoundCloud and I've been using it for 1 month
can we get youtube music vs soundcloud. RUclips music is in the middle between spotify and soundcloud
thanks for the suggestion.. i do have a couple youtube music comparisons on my channel if you go check it out.
I'm only 1:30 in and I already understand why I regret buying a Spotify premium subscription
why’s that?
I think, that the "souncloud weekly" or the "more of what you like" features are alright, but occasionally I find some songs, that are either too bad quality, badly produced or just too different from what I like.
thanks for your thoughts
soundcloud is more for poor people but Spotify is for more richer people
What if you fall in middle class?
But purifiers to use SoundCloud over Spotify, even tho you have the money to pay for Spotify.
I like SoundCloud more because I don't have to pay over £7 just to use the app
My whole family uses Spotify I’m the only SoundCloud user
nice!
SoundCloud in my opinion is better since it has both amazing independant artists and mainstream music.
Its gonna be SoundCloud for me
"Ice Cold" by Powderr and TAZDIED on Soundcloud
I'm having a nightmare picking a music host.
I want to embed guitar clips (not full songs).
I've seen a number of guitar websites using SoundCloud but never Spotify
Any suggestions?
Note
I want music hosting from a 3rd party like SoundCloud to limit bandwidth
1:37 "I can upload music on Spotify for free"
5:30 "On Spotify, You have to use a distributor between you and Spotify"
You might want to clear that up.
I really like SoundCloud but what bothers me the most is that the app is getting more broken each update
Now its either lagging or it proceeds to crash
I hadn’t noticed it myself but thanks for letting us know
@@CharlesCleyn no problem
SoundCloud “stations” are really awesome
SoundCloud wins....
Sorry Spotify ;-;
I use soundcloud because:
No ads
No distributor need it
Play any song
And lots of indie music!
and upload anything from youtube and stuff onto soudcloud if its not already on soundcloud :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Make a video to compare SoundCloud vs Soundfry.
what is soundfry?
Search in google for better information.
SoundCloud for life, I’ve tried Spotify but bruh I’ve tried to make a playlist and it was a random shuffle it wasn’t in the order.
Turn of shuffle
good point!
I love SoundCloud ok
What's your fav part of soundcloud Ivan?
Bro this is in unrelated but why do you look like Jake gyllenhaal
Thanks for the caption, I appreciate that ❤️
Spotify vs Apple Music
Spotify is the one main music streaming app cementing mainstream artists while Soundcloud is the underdog that starts all music careers
I switched from Spotify to SoundCloud yesterday the ads piss Me off
I like movie and game soundtracks which one do you recommend?
I think you should start on soudncloud cus it's free and you can see whats out there in terms of move and game soundtracks in the indie world, there might be a lot!
@@CharlesCleyn okay, thank you.
SoundCloud is DJ Centric
Spotify focussed more to original artist
I prefer
SoundCloud
I use both
Spotify only recommends signed artists. That's why I prefer Soundcloud. It has more interesting music. And I was able to discover A LOT of now very famous artists on Soundcloud way before they blew up. Soundcloud is the best!!!
One thing to note: Soundcloud doesn’t have Carplay, so I suggest you use Spotify for your car and Soundcloud for chilling.
For me. SoundCloud works amazingly in my car?
Bro what? Just use an aux cord
