Afaik the simple answer is yes, and it also allows you to upload custom banner art to your soundcloud tracks if you distribute/release them via next pro
Hi Grahame. Am I right in thinking with a subscription on SoundCloud. You do not have to distribute to Spotify etc, yet can still get paid for listens? I really like SoundCloud and the community, and if I upgraded I would like to stay focused producing music, and building up a decent fanbase before distributing to somewhere else. Got sound cloud for artists how to you distribute it to Spotify for example ..do u have to make a profile on all these platforms first makes no sense when setting up says it does or for you then asks u to find your profile for platform you want to share on ....

What about distribution for just a DJ? Is it a good deal if I don’t produce tracks? I have next pro and about 9 hours worth of music in 7 total mixes. No tracks produced, just mixes compiled, and properly credited. That was the one question you did not answer. I implore you good sir, what say you?
Normally with distribution you upload the master to the distribute and it then puts it on each of the platforms, so you only need 1 master but it covers all platforms. The only difference is if you want say an extended version to go sales platforms and shorter versions to go to streaming platforms - with this you normally make two separate uploads to the distributor - probably not necessary for Soundcloud for artist as they don't go to places like Beatport / Traxsource yet.
Yeah pretty much the same when it comes to dance music, I can’t speak for other genres. When I talk about big labels I’m more referring to the big indie labels in dance music not the major labels

Yeah you can still moneytise thru Soundcloud for artists, as long as the track is an original production and you own all the rights

Yeah you wanna distribute original music, you don’t own the rights to their music so you’d have to get clearance from the label owning it.
