- We are huge fans of the show Narcos so while we were in Medellin, we had to get a tour of where some of the most intense days in Colombia history took place...Pablo Escobar's Prison, La Catedral, as well as the place he was killed. It was a surreal experience, but what made it even crazier was that our tour guide himself was involved in drug dealing in the past and had an inside look at what this life is like. Let us know what you thought of the episode!

The fact that he had so much power over the government that was allowed to make his own prison is crazy to me
ice rice cause it was corrupted
Pablo got brought down because the government wasnt getting the cut they wanted.
TAVERAS DAR Garcia he didn’t start bombing till after, he always had control because he paid off policemen & all types of officials
Governments are worst than Pablo. At least Pablo cared about people in his country and gave to the poor. He was probably better for Columbia than the actual Goverment. World could have been a way better place
Butthead he was killed because he was gonna run for politics
after watching Narcos, seeing this in real life is just mind blowing
MOHD I know, it is almost exactly the same!

Narcos does not compare to "El Patrón del Mal" way better more details real life scenes. You can watch it on Netflix and use English subs if you don't understand Spanish
Carolina where are you from nena ?? I see your Latino’s name I’m just corious
I'm from Colombia, but there's something reaaallly weird, that hitman's accent isn't from Colombia, and also he speaks perfect English.
This
@¿0.O? I understand, but I'm from Colombia and due to the background of those called "hitman" is why I'm saying it's strange that he has a perfect English.
@¿0.O? Yh and most of that half speak bad english
Czech TikTok chanel pointed out that he is a normal tour guide, that lived in USA for 30 years. I like Yes Theory, but this ex dealer lie is awful.
Thats what I said....
The fact he hid 500 million$ and only 14 million was found is crazy.
His secret location were lost when he died
He hid 500 million not billion
he was richer than the US during his prime
@@aroy531 he did around 25-30 billion actually
500 billion 💀 where did you get these numbers from
That dealers voice is amazing.
OviDovi Official which makes me think it's mostly a crock of shit. It's a bit too convenient of a scenario/casting. How do they know tgese people. Seems a sensationalist piece. They use all the myths and mystery around this famous drug dealer to tell a tale that'll pull views. There will be elements of truth of couse but for instance the guy tells extreme detail of what supposedly happened then to say 'I don't know I wasn't here'. By the way Escobar isn't the wealthiest, most powerful criminal or even drug lord of all time. The J+w Sassoon family used Britain and the Indians to wage war upon the entire Chinese empire to impose their opium trade in the 'Opium wars'. Wonder why you don't see documentaries on that?
His voice have been changed tho
Mike O The Yes Theory guys used all of their own money to start Yes Theory and have used their own money to travel. They stopped pursuing their college degrees to do these videos and teach people to “seek discomfort”. Also, just to prove YOUR stupidity, Pablo Escobar’s son has described Frank Sinatra was “A better cocaine dealer than singer” and personally knew Pablo Escobar, so it’s perfectly reasonable to say he performed for Pablo. Before you call other people out, be sure what you’re spitting isn’t bullshit.
Zte Axon 7 stop being tok doubtful, you don’t know how much these people risk to bring this content to youtube, using their connections to a maximum, though there definitely are people who are frauds out there on the internet. These guys are definitely not, you can clearly hear the former drug dealer’s speeches are unrehearsed, you’re clearly a downer.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought that
He built his own prison? No wonder he escaped.

Being from Colombia and living there while this all went down is still surreal to me. I remember watching the news and at times thinking that it all looked like a big movie production. As well as having a close to peaceful childhood while this unfolded. I did fear for my family’s wellbeing and my own being potentially caught in the violence.
This is our history and it has to be accepted. Though is sad what Colombia has gone through, I am glad you guys went so meet the tons of kind people that endured these tough times. Thank you.
@DaveLopez575 @David Lopez It probably was a movie production. The biggest wanted criminal in the war on drugs, and he could just sit out his time in his own built luxury prison? And the CIA known to fly planes full of drugs into the US? It's just a bullshit story, just like terrorism and US-funded Al-Quaida. They want this stuff while pretending to be against it.
Plot Twist: The guy with a censored face is pablo escobar in disguise
It's really a guy that works at Burger King and is making shit up as he goes along
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you think about it, it's funny how he built and designed the prison for himself and he also designed it easy enough to escape ...his own prison.. lol 😂
He decided to make a deal with the Colombian government and go to prison, in order to keep from being extradited to the US to face trial and go to prison. But like the guide said he never intended to give up the drug business and planned his escape even before the first brick was laid.
he didnt need to escape, he would walk in and out whenever he wanted to.
when the army came to get him, he walked down the hill and right past them, UNTOUCHABLE
I always think of an orange entity who I imagine will do the same once it is put away.
I was like that's why he escaped because he built the prison himself so what were they thinking ????😂😂😂😂😂
The prison wasn't built to keep people in, it was to keep people out. It was literally a fortress with his own guards.
Pablos downfall was when he started to get to involved in politics
asap xdnvsty that actually made him more known he just choose the wrong people at the end
Katering Lopez he’s not saying how known he was, he’s saying that everything started going downhill for Pablo when he got involved in politics
His downfall started from his mugshot
@@kanpurmasti9184 his mugshot was pretty much unknown until his political reign when his opposition disclosed his illegal doings to the public
Exactly. He thought if he got involved, he could control everything including extradition. It was flawed and involved a snake politician.

Great storyteller
I totally agree with you felt the same way honestly that guy is a diamond level of a story teller.
He sounds like Joey Diaz
I fear he pulled a bunch of stuff out of his ass to sound more interesting. Claiming that that's Pablo's bed while there is pictures of the day the DEA raided the place and clearly seeing a different bed. Holding cells the size of most modern hotel rooms? Random holes in the concrete where people dug for treasure? Those holes are there for the poles Pablo had in place to avoid helicopters from landing... Bit of a storyteller indeed.

In an interview Pablo's son told the interviewer how Pablo taught him how to kill himself if he ever got captured (because they said they would rather be dead than to be integrated or tortured) and he said Pablo said don't shoot yourself in the mouth or anywhere else, shoot yourself above your right ear and this is where the fatal bullet hole was found on Pablo, coincidence or not i don't know. But IMO Pablo killed himself and the police did not.

*“He’s an ex-Drug Dealer......but he’s a great guy”*
Most drug dealers are just unfortunate souls, with no alternative to provide their family with food, and care for their elders. Dealing drugs does not make you a bad person.
Just like stealing and killing to make money for your Family and kids doesnt make you a bad person...... Idiots
Saadi J. Khan Completely stupid and irrelevant comparison as usual..... You don't hurt anyone by selling drugs. The only reason anyone might get hurt, is because of outdated and ridiculous prohibition laws that enables and fuels the massive crime organizations, such as Escobar's, and also incentize cutting with dangerous fillers.. If drugs was legal, there would be alot less crime, and murders, and Gangs would lose their top most income source. Fact!
VHSKisten What about the family’s destroyed by a siblings drug addictions that lead to stealing and aggressive behaviour? What about the dealers over in America who arm themselves and start shooting at Police for a simple Road Traffic Stop?
Grow the fuck up and smell the roses. Drugs are bad. No matter how you put it. They are addictive, have adverse side effects and most often lead to criminal activities to pay for them, ie burglary, theft, muggings and of course murder when any of the above go wrong.
Keelan O'Connell Grow the fuck up and smell the roses indeed... Nearly every reason you stated, is happening only because the government insist on outdated prohibition, and in Marijuana's case to protect the pharma industry, even if they're actually pushing alot worse drugs, compared to any of the usual illegal drugs.
People go out of their mind, because of cutting agents used by criminal organizations to boost profit, and/or completely different drugs gained opposed to expectations. As many tests show on say street heroin, that contains no heroin, but pure poisonous Fentanyl cut with even cheaper and more dangerous filling agents. All of this is only happening because the policies enable criminal entities to do so, that is the only effect you gain from prohibition.. more gangs and criminals profiting from it, and they profit bigtime! no other income can replace the drug business for 99% of the gangs out there.
It wasn't different when alcohol was prohibited, crime syndicates made millions on smuggling and bootlegging it.. It never stopped or changed the supply or demand, but alot of people died as a direct result of the prohibition, and the negative effects it caused, just as it do for most drugs today.
Yes you can seriously fuck your life up on drugs if you cannot control yourself, but again most of these cases go unheard, because the addicts are afraid of repercussions due to the laws and taboo. You could fix all of that with legalization, a monitored and regulated market that would ensure purity and safety, and stripping of the propaganda, that makes clueless people like you make such uninformed comments.
The tour guide voice, sounds like a straight sicario himself
The government gangsta till Pablo shows up

I’m going here next year can’t wait will defo try and do one of these tours
It’s amazing. Most prisons have guard towers to keep the people in. Pablo had guard towers at the jail he built to jail HIMSELF in and had guard towers to keep people out. The jail inside jail gets me. He knew he could at least partially handle business for those five years here. I don’t even get why he didn’t just do the 5 years. It was five years at his jail. And then he wouldn’t be sent to the States. I get business was not the same without him but clearly he had SOME business there. The walls and the floors of these buildings are where I would want to see inside of. I’m sure there are hidden rooms and safes. I know lots of money has never been found. But everything of his was double concrete for safety. So good luck getting into it. And he didn’t trust. So I’m sure most people didn’t know where he may have kept stuff
He left because the American authorities had gotten involved and were pushing for extradition. They were backing him into a corner and his first response was to negotiate. But when they stated sending in reporters and putting him in a position where he would come out and turn himself over or they would come in and get him... but the intention of the us was that he was going back with them. And he had other plans. And he fleed and never was on again. After that he was on the run until he died
@@Meg-a-ByteTara-Byte 4 of his enemies were tortured and killed in his prison. Then the Colombian government wanted to move him to a regular prison and he went on the run instead. That was only a year into his sentence. Had he kept that stuff out of his prison he would've done the 5 years just fine. The US government was putting pressure on Colombia. They didn't care much. In fact that was the deal they made to not extradite him to the USA. Spend 5 years in (his) prison and he would be a free man in Colombia. Once it was discovered he was not only living a lavish lifestyle behind bars but still torturing and murdering there wasn't much they could do. He brought it on himself
Hi Beth 😊
Fun fact about edificio mónaco: One night a rival cartel blew a car bomb really close to it and the blast woke the WHOLE city up. Pablo's daughter was deafened. My mom (along with other el pobaldo residents) had been stunned by the sound and needed attention but didn't dare to leave the house.
She has also told me stories about how she saw 2 live shootups from people in motorcicles to mitsubishi monteros (the car that rich drug involved inhabitants would have at the time) while waiting in a traffic light.

This is a great video!!!!
The driver's voice added a lot to this video. Amazing 😁
Your guide has a really relaxing voice I would love to hear him in a movie or something
Fun fact : He had so much money, that he had to spend 2500 dollars a month on elastic bands to roll up the wads of bills
It amazes me how Pablo was able to sleep at night
He rarely did, his son and wife have both said he would spend nights tossing and turning....no amount of marijuana could relax the mind of someone like escobar
I just knew you guys, watching videos talking about Escobar and it’s mansions and what he did in the past.
I’m from Colombia and I really want to thank you guys, for presenting things Escobar did in a nice and polite way, making the international people who watch YesTheory realize how Colombia was... and how Colombia has being changing after Escobar era.
Thank you for the videos.
You guys should return one day and visit a bunch of beautiful places in Colombia. Not only Medellin but; Cartagena, Santa Marta, Santander, Amazonas, La Guajira, Cali, Bogota, etc..
Well according to stats, Colombia is still breaking records in cocaine production and if I am not wrong, more cocaine is still produced than in Escobar times... :-)
So? the problem is violence not cocaine itself. In fact if cocaine were legal in the states and columbia the violence wouldn't even be happening.
@@soldatheero Colombia is a country not a movie company.
Not really
soldatheero of course the violence would still be there...it’s because of the amount of money that’s involved, if it were legal yes the price of it would drop but it would still be a highly demanded product due to the addiction part of it. The violence would be there regardless
It's important to think about these tours before going on one. Obviously, this is a huge part of Colombian history, but with so many lives affected by this mans actions, anyone who goes on a tour like this one has a huge responsibility to learn and share Colombia's story responsibly. Also to realize that the violence didn't start OR end with Escobar. The country has overcome a lot and it's important to share history and learn history responsibly. I met so many people whose lives have been hurt over and over by Escobars actions, and actions of the Guerrilla groups that were active at the time, and it's important to realize how bad Escobar was. Colombia is an AMAZING and resilient country and the people are some of the strongest and most positive I have ever known.
BTW- Totally not an attack on yes theory because I love their channel, just something that I learned after spending a lot of time in Colombia, and I think it's important for others to know too :)
You all talk about the bad things escobar did...what about the good things he did for Colombia citizens?

You said a lot, but said nothing at all
I’m literally watching narcos right now, and Thomas looks exactly like agent Steve Murphy
The guider voice is mind blowing🤯
You guys always make my sunday! This one is such perfect timing, since I am about to do a big assignment on Pablo Escobar and Columbias Drug War! Love you as always!
No way! Love you too!
pablo’s biggest mistake was getting into politics
He got rejected because he had a criminal record, the only reason he was able to step foot into a court is he was controlling the corrupted government they had. His biggest mistake is dealing drugs in the first place lmao.
No after gustavos dead all things were falling one by one

Colombia is a beautiful country with a rich culture and wonderful people. It's a shame what Escobar's reputation and violence did to them, but America played no small role in that either. Love to 🇨🇴 from 🇺🇸!
The ex drug dealers voice though , Enough to scare someone 🔥
