@@speedboard. Have you ever had a glowing ember stuck on the crotch or your shorts.? It happened to one of my friends when we used to ride across the embers after stubble burning. Fortunately he was wearing cut off Levi's. 😊
Spectacular cinematography coupled with amazing riding skills. Really gripping short. Amazing. Poignant little tree at the end. Loved every second of it!
From the description: "Everything was shot in a controlled setting on private land during the winter in a recently scorched wildfire area. The crew was under the supervision of forestry professionals to ensure everything was executed safely". I interpret this as they found a forest that was already burned, and then re-ignited the already burned trees to make it look like it was shot during the burn. You can see in a few clips that the only trees that are on fire are the ones right near the trail for cinematic purposes only.
Honestly no joke this is definitely the best mountain biking video I’ve ever seen hands-down the amount of time and effort that must’ve gone in to setting this up and making sure that it was all safe and executing it is unreal and y’all never cease to get me to watch all the way until the end credits of every single video
They used a previously burnt area for the effects. For the fire, a mixture of alcohol and water would have been used, protecting the trees in the same way as the wax protects the wick of a candle or oil lamp. The professional mixtures do not produce toxic smoke. They also filmed it at the time of year when their was no danger of the fire spreading. In reality, everyone was probably freezing during the long setup before a couple of minutes of heat.
Special thanx to Boy Scouts of America - This is super cool. I was in Sea Scouts in South Africa as a kid and I'm glad they're doing such great work still.Kudos.
I know that the cinematography and the color grading are both excellent but I don't think we're talking enough about just how perfect the audio editing has been here.
Jesus Christ, is it even real? Whoever had an idea to film this in BURNING FREAKING FOREST is genius (or phycho). It's incredible what amount of bravery it demands from all of this team. Amazing shooting, breathtaking tricks, brilliant colour grading. Perfect
I was instantly hooked. The cinematography work is next level, very impressive shots throughout. The ultimate happy place for anyone who loves mountain biking and bonfires....I'll have to add it to my bucket list.
This is the video. THE VIDEO. Literally the best video I have ever seen no video is better than this maybe it’s just cuz I’m interested in mountain biking but this is genuinely the coolest video ever
That is without a doubt, the best short film I have ever seen!! So Fu$@ing Rad! Props to everyone involved in that!!!!! I shared it with family and friends that aren't into MTB, and they loved it, they even wanted to watch it multiple times
Please make Life Cycles 2! I beg you! I've watched Life Cycles 20 times and I've made all of my non-biking friends watch it with me to ensure they see this masterpiece.
Amazing video.. this would be the sickest and wildest run I would imagine. I guess it would be a bonus nowadays here in California when the fires are burning. This video is completely awesome and beautiful how the video catches this Rider skills.
I didn't catch the first time where it said this was filmed in Ute Park on Philmont's property. I hiked through this section on a backpacking trip at Philmont back when it was still a forested area. Crazy to see it like this, but that's the circle of life! So cool!
Who ever did the colour grading deserves a pay rise

So beautiful but yet so sad for the forest fire

I believe some of it is true and they duplicated + cgi some of it
