    Gaoyuan found his best strategy vs Timo. As long as Timo is not attacking like Fan Zhendong or Wang Chuqin, Gaoyuan could just block with good angles, and make Timo run around. No “Chole” needed, not much speed needed, not much power needed, just block and block with angles.

    Timo Boll is still so good at this age, no wonder he is one of the goats of table tennis

    This is the most quiet game from Lin I have ever seen. He didn't make a single cho from this highlight. Very interesting mental state of his game. The entire match is based on who makes the fewest mistakes. Lin made a lot to start and then Boll mades too many in the later half of the game. Very strange game overall...

    Lin resorting to a more passive approach. Deliberately slowing down the 2nd or 3rd ball .sometimes spinny, sometimes less spin with contact from the bottom part of the racket. Either way quite deliberate. Something new for Timo. Caught him by surprise.

    The way I see it Lin give its first game to Timo. To inspire and show respect for his age. In Chinese culture have been teaching at a younger age. “Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.”

    Boll did the mistakes at 8:8 in the second set, trying to overpower Lin.
    No one, except Fan Zhendong can overpower him in the fast game.
    Slow, spinny balls and Spinvariation is Lins weakness. Boll should have kept it that way from start to finish.

    17:57 The commentator asked "what happened there man?". The thing that happened is that he was pushing the limit on the serve because his serve has recently won him two points by tricking Boll to misread the serve. Serving deceptively vs. a world class player is actually pretty hard. That type of comment is like what I get from a basement player when I miss the ball because I am going for a hard spin shot with very closed angle on the racket and miss the ball by some millimeters. In that situation, a basement player would be like "lol, you cant even hit the ball".

      @RambO5018 9 месяцев назад +6

      check the slow-mo at 10:48, looks kinda deceptive to me. I mean the reverse pendulum by LGY always looks kind of illegal to me. So close to the body, hiding the ball with the body to some degree.

      They should remove the damn head at serves! That,s y Teemo failed because he could not c what Lin was doing behind his damn head! 14:40 Before Lin did sidespin and underspin in serves but at this time he did top-spin-serve! It should be a fault for Lin! It is damn unfair! Timo did much more in this game at all and without Lins wrong serves he would lost for sure! 17:57 is the best evidence that Lin serves were wrong the whole game!

    What a geat mental game! In the end, Gaoyuan was able to mentally access his physical technique, which outperforms Timo's when it comes to a rallye. Timo's knows about this and in the first game he was able to trick Gaoyuan with his disruptive and tactical playstyle. But then Gaoyuan managed to keep the inner peace and to concentrate on his qualities.
