To the point where even in the scenarios that are just regular dating and not something we would consider hookup culture are heavily influenced by hookup culture. Probably in other countries the situation is different and not so bad but not here in the good ol USA

My personality is simply too distant to what evolution has made females to be attracted to. I'm just too calm. Too honest. Too uninterested in social power. It takes a miracle to find a woman that likes that. Evolution has made them seek power because power gives them security. It's that simple. The ironic part is I'm pretty sure I'm considerably powerful in the sense of being able to do things in case of necessity. I'm just not interested in social power because I perceive that as kind of a toxic circus. "Look, I'm better than the rest except it's an illusion. I'm only better in seeming powerful". It's like a parlor trick that fools most people. I dislike that a lot. The need of feeling above others in perception rather than reality. Instead of actually improving your useful skills. Your power to make things better.

the main issue with ai girlfriends that I've noticed is the lack of a certain level of realism, 90+% of the time ai girls are made to look like supermodels and they are essentially meant to perfectly in line with your interests socially as well. the issue with this is it's non immersive, they need to find that line where the ai is both interesting and attractive to that person while still attaining a certain level of realism. basically they need flaws.
there needs to be the potential for conflict, they should be capable of not necessarily being interested in every single thing that you're interested in and to also have interests that you might not necessarily care about or be interested in while still sharing some common interests. there needs to be a potential for disagreements and arguments.
without these things an ai relationship will get boring rather quickly to the user and ai girlfriends will feel hollow and unfulfilling.
The real problem with AI girlfriends is the removal of a reason to be better. If you can get some instant gratification and a dopamine hit without doing work you won't be motivated to do work to achieve the actual real world fulfillment. It perpetuates a classic issue in today's society of not being able to focus on long term goals and lasting change.

@zengara11 no working to be the best version of yourself takes a long time and a lot of effort. Becoming a desirable partner to the type of person you desire takes a lot of work and is a major biological motivating factor. Making yourself "feel" desired by an AI feeds the brain in a way that will cause addiction and unhealthy self image when really what 99% of them should do is to invest in making themselves healthier and in that process they will become more desirable. If you can be 300 lbs not shower and talk to a fake 10/10 to trick your brain it will have unhealthy reprocutions. Almost everything is created now in a way that affects your brains chemistry to cause further dependence or to keep you coming back for more.

A ton of men are still traditional and are still pretty conservative whilst women are getting more and more liberal and progressive, at some point those principles clash and the pool of available people shrinks. I don't necessarily want a girl in my life that is completely traditional and has no opinion, I love women who stand strong in their shoes. But I do not like how the younger generation of women tries to enforce a certain way of interacting with them, making it almost artificial and sometimes very toxic.
I am now dating a 31 year old woman and she is exactly what I ever wanted a woman to be, and she is not the first older woman I've had an interest in. Many of the older women still have standards, values and principles without having to sacrifice the skewed expectations that come with younger women.

asmon, as a biologist i just have to say that 1 guy having kids with 5 girls doesn't solve the problem of lack of reproduction, sure it wouldn't matter for decades, many even centuries, but if a pattern like that continued eventually everyone is inbred. its one of the largest problems in conservation biology, for decades we just reused the same productive males for breeding, and now we are suffering for it because many species are now showing .8 or even .9 FST values (1= completely inbreed / 0= no inbreeding) were we cant even find unrelated males to breed with them.
