- We built a GT Pro Series 29" in camp blue for a friend as a Christmas surprise. Nothing fancy, just a simple assembly.

I got the exact same one. I added yellow petals, skin trim tires, and ROS freewheel. Looks and rides great.
Right on!
Wanted that one but should have ordered it through another website. GT had none. Got the 24" for my son and he loves it!
Go to city ground to get one
24" is a great size. They all are. We'll do a compare between all three pro series soon.
Love the colour
I was not sure about the color, but it was fantastic in person - especially in the sun.
I’m saving for it
Good deals going it seems...
finally bit the bullet and found what I wanted. I got the same bike but in the 24 inch. waiting for it to arrive now
It’s a sweet bike. We’ve got a black one in 24” as well, you’ll have fun with it.
I've been looking around and haven't found answer but do you think you can put skyway tuff wheels on that frame? I wasn't sure because of the disc brakes and those wheels not being perfectly true. @@thebikefam
I am not familiar with Skyways in 29.... I think Crew makes some, and I *think* they have mounting for disc rotor... Thats all I can say, hope it helps.
I don’t know what sizes of bikes for me to get I’m probably around 5’3 or 5’4 and I’m thirteen I want this bike but what size should I get?????
26” will work and fit if you get bigger. 29” should be ok too many of my sons friends are same size and have no issues.
just got one at citygrounds....on sale for $380...awesome deal...im gonna change brakes to avid code
Let me know how you like those brakes, I have not used them yet.
What is better pro series or the performer?
Pro Series has some better parts out of the box and is lighter as it’s aluminum so it’s usually a little more $
what about reflectors?
It does come with a complete set of reflectors. One for each wheel and one for the front and rear.
I have a question what tools will I need for me to build a GT PERFORMER 29" BMX BIKE
A basic set of wrenches and Allen keys I think other than a pump. If you picked up one of those all purpose bike tools, and an adjustable Wrench, I think that’s all you would need.
@@thebikefam thank you so much
I bought the same bike. Only thing original still is the frame and forks. Also took off all the decals!😂
nice!
Does the chain come already attached/built?
It does, but you might have to adjust the rear wheel. I did on most of them.
Good afternoon. Could you tell me what the maximum weight limit this bike can support?
I tried to look it up for you. I’m not sure. I see 300 pound guys on these pretty often though
I have this bike I'm 380lbs, have psi at 60 and rides great
Wheel set is the main limiting factor for weight. Most wheel sets have a max weight rating of 150lbs per wheel. Any more you risk a taco-ed wheel.
Debating between the GT Pro Series 24" and 29" for my 11 yr old son. Any feedback would be appreciated!
I’m going to do a compare between 29, 26, 24…. We’ve got all three.
The longer the distance you plan to ride, the large of the wheel I would say. 26 inches starting to feel like a perfect size, and 24 is great so long as I’m not riding very far.
It’s a tough one, but if he’s going to ride with friends, 29 is what the kids are going to mostly have. That seems to be what all the kids want in my sons’s circle of friends. Even if I think it’s a little too big for some of them.
Clean
Thank you
What do you prefer 26" vs 29" for an old school racer in his 40s that is around 5'8"?
It’s tough. That’s why I keep trying to get a video done about it so I can talk about it more.
The 26 seems to be a great bike if you’re only going to have one. It feels the most stable, and makes me want to ride through the neighbors flower bed and tear it up. But any amount of distance over maybe 5 miles, for me the 29 is the winner. Even more so if you’re going to ride with other guys and want to keep a similar cadence as most seem to have a 29. A friend of mine who is about your height, swears that the 26 is the best. I think you probably would like that best, but let me know what you decide.
@@thebikefamhow tall is your son.. im only asking he makes that bike look short.
Got the same bike what would you recommend for upgrades ??? Ty
Tires, brake pads, slime tubes would be my first things…. And make sure everything is adjusted just right or swing by a bike shop. That can make a huge difference.
Does the bike comes with pegs ?
Yes, all the GT Pro Series we've seen come with pegs.
2 pegs
Can you guys help me get this bike I had a tonyhawlk bike and customized and all and grew out of it and my bike is the only thing I have realy stuff is not so good right know and I’m not asking for a bike I’m asking if you could help me get a new one
How can we help?
@@thebikefam idk I just need to know how to save up that much money and how to get it
I’m in a hard time right now idk how im going to do it
I would start with Facebook marketplace, there’s sweet deals there. What area are you in?
@@thebikefam I’m in buffalo
what tools are required?
Basic wrenches and hex wrenches. You could get by with an adjustable wrench and a 3 way bike hex tool.
