    I always find the exact video I need after I screw up. After a long period of looking and I guess using wrong search words I put this one back together and its not right by a long shot. The I H parts book and the aftermarket kit paper were vague and not clean. Thats my excuse. But what you showed clearly and better than anyone, was the venturi. This one had an oring on it. The parts and pics on paper never showed one but since it fit and was there to begin with I put it back. Now looking forward to removing and changing a few things to see if it works. Will add results to this either way. application is a IH 2544 utility tractor. Carburetor is I H 406803R91 Thanks again for a super video!

      Very glad that the video helped! I'm unfamiliar with the carburetors for that particular model of tractor, but as long as you go slow and I recommend people take pictures with their smart phone as they tear them apart.. It really isn't too bad to do it. Make sure that ALL passages are clear! Have fun!

    Nice work Kenny! Most excellent job narrating too! Somebody is going to be real happy with this Super H carburetor!! Gee, when you see that much dirt build up on the venturi, you know this tractor went years without the air cleaner being properly serviced.

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch
      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад

      Yes, that was one of the worst venturi I have seen as far as crud accumulation. I'd argue that it may have spent a few [many] years running without an air cleaner at all. This carburetor is actually for an M, but as you know the castings for Super H to 450 are all nearly identical with some minor jet and/or venturi changes.

      @@KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch I too have never seen a venturi that clogged up. Pathetic maintenance! I don't have experience with using other carburetors (or carburetor part combinations) on non-original applications. I don't know what the benefit is of using a Super H carb on an M. But, people have the right to do what they want with their tractor. Hey, here's an idea: Maybe carburetor combinations could be a topic on your next tractor talk. I would like to learn more about what people have discovered. You do have some valuable experience as I noticed that you run a Super H carb on your beautiful Suicide Awareness H.
      Speaking of such: Its a vacation day for me so I am making ready to powder coat a Farmall 450 carb today as soon as Gunsmoke is over (well, if I feel like going out to the garage today as I may have to turn on the dang heater!!). Spring is having a hard time getting here!

      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад

      @@bryanh1944FBH That's a great idea! I am not a carburetor expert, but I do know that the same castings were used for the Super H thru Super MTA. There was a small change with the 400 and 450 carburetors, but the rebuild itself is essentially the same. Most of the changes are in jetting, etc. I'm happy we are getting temps above 50 now, and that the WIND has let up a little bit! Uff da! I thought I was going to blow away the last several days!

    Thank You for showing this step by step informative vid!
    I've got a 1939 H. My brother in law brought me a '45? Super H as a parts donor! I have installed the Super H intake/exhaust manifold on the H because the H's manifold is broken (you guessed it) at the exhaust pipe which was previously welded! Then was trying to mount the original H carburetor (D B 45108) to it and yup, the H carburetors' bolt pattern is smaller! Is there, by any chance, an adapter plate that will allow mounting the smaller H carb to the Super H manifold? Thought I'd ask before 'setting out' on a Super H carb rebuild voyage, guided by Kenny Kizzle Rusty Nutz Ranch!! :D Thanks Again!!

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch
      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video! To the best of my knowledge there is nothing as far as an adapter plate goes. One could make one, I suppose. I would do as you said, rebuild the Super H carburetor and toss it on there. If all of your jets, etc. are good, you could likely throw an M rebuild kit into it. It is the same carburetor with a different set of jets and a smaller venturi than an M.

    Perfect timing Kenny...I just completely rebuilt the carb on my 400. The only thing I didn't take out was the venturi so I do have a question. I have yet to mount it back up so I could take it back apart but I'm wondering if I should tap the venturi out. Are there any passages I should clean behind the venturi? I've never rebuilt one before so thought I'd ask. Thanks for all your insight as it's helping me every day as I learn.

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch
      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад

      If it were me I would take the venturi out. There may be passages behind it (Super H thru 450 castings are generally the same but there are a couple small differences). At the very least you can take a wire wheel on a drill and clean the throat body and the venturi. A lot of junk can accumulate behind it. I strongly recommend pulling it and cleaning it thoroughly.

    Does Rudy buy his replacement parts in quantity or in "kit" form?

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch
      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад

      Magneto parts he generally purchases individually, but carburetor parts are mostly purchased in kit form. There are certain parts he orders individually (floats, etc). Some carburetors are quite rare, and only certain parts are available for them.

    Very good instruction video! What brand rebuild kit do you use? Also what type of media do you use for blasting? Go check Squatch senior’s recent video, he has a question that Rudy may be able to help him on. 👍👍👍

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch
      @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch  2 года назад

      Most times we get the kits from a local supplier, but occasionally we will go through Mcdonald Carburetor. We use glad media for the blast cabinet. And yes, I've already connected Rudy with Squatch about the tester!

    Excellent video Kenny as I am about to recondition my W6 carburettor.
    I wonder if any of your viewers can help me with a carburettor bowl as the fine idle tube has snapped inside and someone has made a complete hash of trying to remove the broken piece (breaking what I presume to be an easy out inside the remainder of the brass tube!)
    I am under the impression the Farmall 'M' and W9 bowls are identical in body size??
    The throttle body is in excellent condition so all I need is the bare bowl (minus all fitments, I shall be fitting all new components).
    If anyone could help, I would be eternally grateful as I cannot find one over here in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    • @KennyKizzleRustyNutzRanch

      I would say to drill it out and tap it (3/32" drill/4-40 tap), but seeing as you have a broken ez-out in there, it wouldn't be "ez". I would contact Biewer's Tractor Salvage. I am sure they have a bowl you could buy, or even a spare carburetor core. I am not sure if the W9 and M bowls are the same, but the W6 and M are for sure.
