Brilliant design and manufacture of the system. I suspect you enjoyed being part of the development and Gareth would really appreciate your input. Well done Mark.
Learning a lot from the channel and really enjoy watching you shoot! I don’t have near the skills to handle that rifle yet, but it’s really an awesome looking piece of equipment.
You and Sam must be so proud to be part of the development of this AMAZING Firearm..Gareth should rightly be proud of what's been achieved so far 👌 Congratulations to all involved, i look forward to the further development. Good Job guys 👍
That is one beautiful piece of kit. I’ve always favored the .408 over the 375 and it’s nice now that they are. Making better ELR bullets for the ,408. I’m excited to see the performance
@@mylesharvey6488 I just think when you get into the heavies like the 407 & 427 grain .375 vs the 446&450 grain .408 I think the .408 are easier to stabilize and better balanced flight. Just my opinion could be wrong
What an amazing rifle that’s something I m putting on my bucket list to shot outstanding bit of kit absolutely beautiful take care and stay safe you two cheers Yogi 🤙🤙
Looking at that beauty for me is like looking at super cars and jet aircraft. Awesome and so far out of reach. Thanks for showing it to us. Best to you and Sam!
So good to see that Australian Made machined into this awsome piece of work. Brings a smile to my face the same as when I grab one of my Lithgows out of the safe. Look forward to seeing any future developments.
That is definitely the coolest rifle I’ve ever seen, awesome and thank you for sharing it with us. I’m off to buy more lottery tickets, going to need a big winner in order to bring one of those beauties home.
It kinda bears some passing resemblance to the EDM Arms/Cheytac M200, but yea, very different rifle. The EDM had that big barrel nut that provided all of the support, no barrel extension there. This definitely looks like a better system, and the stock system looks much more comfortable as well. I never thought too much of the .408 cartridge though. the .375 at least has some bullet availability far beyond what's out there for the .408, IIRC Sierra was making either 350 or 400gr SMKs in .375 caliber. Almost forgot... instead of hanging your steel targets from chains, when they break the chain like that it's usually because of vibration, I had some big issues with that for a while, until I started hanging my steel targets from pieces of scrap conveyor belt material. Either way, thanks for putting that out there. Good vid.
@high desert drew How much does the conveyor belt dampen the sound vs chains? I use firehose cut into strips. I get about 10% less ringing of the steel vs chains which I don’t like but they’re extremely durable so it’s worth it to me.
@@stevennewman4778 You know, I am not sure I ever thought about it. I liked it for it's durability and ease of deployment. We used to use a piece of angle iron, and if the bolts were tight between the plate and the angle the resonance would actually bust the heads off the bolts. I just know I have to spend a lot less time walking out to repair busted targets.
Thats a beautiful piece of equipment, looking forward to you stretching her out some. Are we going to see more with that structured barrel build from last year by chance? Didn't see a whole lot with it from what I recall. Cheers!
I can't believe I got it right because there's absolutely no telling with you 2... Yall have shot things I've never even heard of before. LOL Definitely a really cool cartridge and from my understanding it's one of the ultimate for long range. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
So, is this a single bolt, or bolt face, only system? Would be cool if you could practice with a smaller caliber with the same weight rifle. Great design🇦🇺👍🇺🇸
I was able to inspect and handle this same rifle, serveral years ago now. Typical of GC and GCPD Arms products, it is a Fuctional piece of Fine working Art. So it tick's both the "Form follows Fuction" boxes, and does this well. Regards JB
What really piked my interest in shooting 2 miles was shooting the. 408 CheyTac where it originated in Arco, Idaho at Lost River Arms Co. I shot it in a semi-auto version and a bolt action that I assumed was built by Barrett. I hit a 2700yd target with both rifles and was hooked. When they necked the .408 down to the. 375 and started building rifles, a couple of my friends bought one. I couldn't afford the $13K they were charging. I'm interested to know approximately how much the price of this rifle, complete with everything, is?
The 408 is the ultimate thumper for long range. How far out do you plan to shoot it Mark? If memory serves, I think the longest you have on video is around 5000 yards? Great looking piece of kit there.
