I just want to say thanks to Mr. Bob & Brad. I came across your video last night while dealing with a trigger thumb. I followed your advice on trigger point isolation, cross fiber massage & stretching of the affected finger. I was mainly doing conservative treatment with Ice pack & soaking my hand in warm water. I also used Kinesiotape & wrist brace for support but everything that I’ve been doing had very minimal effect in decreasing my pain. Today, after following the treatment in your video I was able to feel significant decrease in my pain level. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & may God continue to bless you both.

I injured my finger several months ago. I feel clicking and pain when I try to close my hand. And I have lost range of motion in that finger. I can raise the finger but have issues closing it. A doctor described the problem exactly like you did. But when I asked about exercises, he said there weren’t any that would help. Told me to wait to see if it would get better with time. I did the exercises you suggested while watching the video. I immediately started feeling less pain and have greater range of motion in that finger! Thank you! I will do these exercises daily. I’ve also been watching your back videos and plan on trying the stretching techniques you recommend. I wish I had found your RUclips site before today! Awesome content!

I'm a 50 year old touring and studio drummer...thumb locked up on me a couple of weeks ago after waking up. I figured out what was up with a little self diagnosis and took your advice with great results massaging that tender area by hand. However, I had better results rolling a drumstick over the tender area in various directions with a good amount of pressure. You could use anything cylindrical. A small piece of wood dowel or even a sharpie magic marker would do the same. The advantage is that the hand you're using to massage with won't tire out as quickly and the cylinder is a bit harder than your finger tips so you should be able to go real deep and break up that scar tissue more effectively. I'm guessing it works the same way a hard foam roller would when rolling out an injured muscle in therapy or before a workout. Maybe Bob and Brad could put this theory to task and see if it would be something to recommend. Thanks for the video guys. It was a great help.

Me too, a drummer. My first trigger finger happened back in 2010. The Japanese Dr. advised to have radio therapy, had my finger run thru a machine with electricity. A couple months having the treatment frequently and it was healed. Lately, I did quite some DIY wood works. As I still cut the wood manually. And 2 fingers on both hand became trigger. I stopped the DIY lately, not to torture the fingers any further. But then I just can't stop drumming! It's really frustrating. Thanks for your advise, let me try them all. Thanks

I’ve been having this problem for months now. I’ve been to a Physio and splinted it and tried many other things. After finding the tender spot and massaging it for 30 seconds I was able to move my middle finger without pain for the first time in months. I’m gonna keep doing this on a daily basis and hopefully I can see some long term progress. Thanks Bob and Brad 👍

I have trigger finger also in my middle finger and sometimes it locks in the morning and really hurts. The exercises in this video definitely help to provide immediate short term relief - I don't know about a permanent cure though. I also found a lot of relief using a stress ball. you know one of those 5cm diameter balls which you press to reduce stress. the regular pressing and releasing must be similar to using the elastic band but much more practical to exercise while doing something else like studying or typing with one hand. I discovered avoiding to sleep on the hand/arm of the effected finger also helps. Try to stay relaxed as any form of anxiety seems to make my finger pain flare up somehow. General exercise (even not involving your fingers) also seems to help - perhaps that is why it hurts most when waking up -due to the inactivity.

I’m 21 and I had it in both of my hands. It started with my index then moved to my middle finger. Now I only have it in one hand not sure why it went away but I still have it in one hand and it’s so embarrassing when I have my hand closed trying to open my hand first thing that goes up is the middle finger and I can’t control or slow the motion either. Going to try these excercises
