Question: "What should a Roamer be communicating in a game?" (I know you've already answered it on the twitch stream, but I thought it was too well-developed of an answer to just be left behind in the vast stream history.)
MR SLIN some background footage so that that your face isnt the only thing were looking at for 10 minutes. For instance, when youre talking about aim practice and DM/MGE, you could have some backgtound footage of said practice.
Ah yes... I don't think I'd be able to crank out as many videos though, because then I'd have to spend more time doing recordings and video editing. RIP. Personally I'm more of a streamer-type of person, who just wants to turn the stream/video on and talk to the camera. Maybe one day I can find a video editor...
So, for a part 2, what about how to practice game sense? Say as spy (or almost any class) learning to predict movements on other players to outplay the opponent strategically
Question, do you have a good way to make your hand stop constantly flicking? Basically what i mean by that, is that when my crosshair is on enemies head, instead of just clicking m1, my hand just flicks before shooting making me miss
Some good advice in this video but I would NOT talk to your friends or rock out to music if you're practicing dm. When you're dedicating time to practice you should focus extremely hard on the task at hand and those other things distract you. At that point you're practicing multi tasking your brain but that's not really why you're there. You're there to dm. Focus on the tiniest details and think about them. You should feel slightly exhausted when you're done if you're staying concentrated for long periods of time and that's how you know your brain is focused and working hard. I suppose some very light music that doesn't "grab" your attention could be ok like some classical or some light minimalistic electro beat or something.
Problem with sensitivity I have is I play a lot of different games. And say I go to play over watch or pubg for an hour. My efficiency in them games are damaged cause I was using, basically a difference sensitivity. And then when I go back to tf2 I'm again performing worse as I'm not used to it again. Is there a way to make them the same since they're both not source games? (Unlike tf2 to csgo)
Yeah I try to keep the same sensitivity across every game. While I don't always have a tool for converting my TF2 sens to other games so that it's exactly the same, I have been playing for long enough to know about where my normal sens is.
Thoughts on the badge slot and how it could benefit the comp scene potentially if esea made their own badges as well? The community could recognize them as prestigious driving them to get them as cosmetic reward.
Will attack/defend ever become a 6s game mode again, my suggestion is that attack/defend maps are made for especially for comp, and not made for fun pubs and used in comp
small question: does listening to music affect how well a person's dm improves? does playing the game with sound on help more than playing with music in the background?
I find sound to be really helpful cause you can hear where people are around you. But I also stream with music on cause I feel like people enjoy the tunes.
Don't worry, it's like riding a bike -- you'll be back in no time. Start things off by hopping into a pub, and just playing casually. Then when you're feeling good about stomping baddies, you can get back to the real stuff.
I'm not a big fan. If you're the type of person to play a bunch of classes, pick something that works for every class. I know some top-level invite players, like Enigma, who played with mouse acceleration on because it let them play scout with slow sens while also being able to rocket jump on soldier. Others, like B4nny and myself, play on high sensitivity (i.e. 5 inches per 360) and just train themselves to be able to move the crosshair in small increments. Either way, I don't recommend changing sens all the time, but I know plenty of invite players who do it.
MR SLIN thanks mr slin i also played most of my time with only one sens and recently wanted to try something new. Thanks again for sharing your opinion on that topic and keep up the great work.
I also have different sens on different classes and I've been using that sens for a long time and it hasn't really made my aim worse you just need a longer time to get used to the sens on different classes
@Jerrymiesterrr you got the 2 years late out of my mouth but even if i wasn't perma playing with tablet now, the movement and control of the mouse is not only related to the 3d dimension of the game. muscle memory is still muscle memory and it would help in some ways no matter what you are playing with mouse
you sort of contradict yourself saying you shouldn't spend time changing little things but then you say you should change your sens over and over until you find the "perfect" 360 for you
Yeah, what Austin said. You have to do some initial work to find the right sens, but after you've got it, try not to change it too much. You want to build that consistency.

Slin would be a great dad if he isnt yet.

(I know you've already answered it on the twitch stream, but I thought it was too well-developed of an answer to just be left behind in the vast stream history.)
This! When I played etf2l fresh meat "event" I was roamer and I didn't communicate almost at all if I wasn't killing someone.
Wonderful video to start the new year! Thanks so much, Mr Slin, always producing quality content
Would love to see some gameplay of you playing soldier in mge while talking. Like a background video while you talk.
Mr.PippyPancakes Agreed
Like a live commentary?
i think they are talking about having prerecorded gameplay to watch with your commentary.

Slin with the videos
"If someone's looking at you and you're looking at them... That's something to practice as well" #datingadvicewithMrSlin
;) Ayyyy
I have 1.3k hours in TF2, and my aim is horrendous...
I have 7 hours in the game and my aim is horrendous...
I have over 4,000 hours and my scout flick aim is still occasionally trash in 50’s against other scouts
I have 2k hours in tf2, and my aim in good in mge, but bad in 6s.
Congrats on 19,999 subs!
Thank you so much for every video youve made so far...
Thank goodness I found this video now and not after I'd put hundreds of hours into this game. Thanks!
So, for a part 2, what about how to practice game sense? Say as spy (or almost any class) learning to predict movements on other players to outplay the opponent strategically
nice video slin
any tips for initiating a successful push?

thanks for the great vid :)
So, how do I know if I'm ready for comp?
i want to be a scout main
this is helping me alot
congrats on *20k SUBS!*

I use mouse-sensitivity.com to convert sensitivity, it's a bit messy, but it works, I guess.

Alex Godwin definitely!!
Will attack/defend ever become a 6s game mode again, my suggestion is that attack/defend maps are made for especially for comp, and not made for fun pubs and used in comp
Different varients should also be tried, a perfected pl race for comp could actually work, and so could say a 7 cp or something exotic
you could theorize all you want, but until someone actually makes a good map for those gamemodes, in the end they're just suggestions.
oyah I was planning to do something like that myself, got 10 hrs into hammer and quit, it's so hard and bad

Slin, What If I had a like a month of vacation, whats the best way of getting back to the habit/getting the rust off?
Don't worry, it's like riding a bike -- you'll be back in no time. Start things off by hopping into a pub, and just playing casually. Then when you're feeling good about stomping baddies, you can get back to the real stuff.
Guide for movement and when and when not to do something
Does changing graphic settings affect your aim/general gameplay?
Stable FPS > Good graphics

another small tip do some physical work and play u will get little better feel of the mouse
SD Zen HD "physical work" is kinda vague.
How is 800 dpi 1.1-1.2 sens? And is it low or high?
Your own prefrance to be honest.
What is the best format/game mode? you'll probably say 5cp 6v6 but imo it's 6v6 koth and pl.
Flare // The Devil In Disguise 5cp
pl doesn't exist in 6v6...
^
what do you mean as "best"? do you mean the most popular or fun to watch? imo gamemodes don't matter as long as the map is fun
Do you know how to find any good dm servers?
Yeah, check the link in the description, it should take you to teamfortress.tv's server list and you can sort the list by region!
What does dm mean
death match
30k subs before 2019?
Start playing osu! To get better aim and after 2 weeks leave tf2 for osu! and get rsi. Thats the best way to get better aim
