That hug at the end. That sincere hug between them, like old friends who missed one another, was absolutly powerful. Absolutly beautiful. This youkai and that bird youkai from the episode Soundless Valley of season five are my favorite one shot characters.
Same, this tree youkai is one of mine too. I also love the little tea cup that saved Natsume, and the youkai that left flowers at Taki's front door as thanks for helping him and the little ones out of the house. The one shot episodes/chapters are honestly the best imo. All of the episodes and chapters are, but I enjoy the one shots the most.

One of the most powerfull episode in Natsume Yuujinchou. I love everything about this ep. The pain, the "misunderstanding", the relieve. I always find myself to rewatch this ep, or the episode where natsume tried to find his old house and also the ep when he meet little fox for the 1st time
Natsume going back to his old house was a stab in the heart. Him as a child calling for a dad who will never call to him back was a major stab in the heart. Actually, I think it might have just cut my heart up into little pieces. I've rewatched this series so many time too.

I remember crying in this episode for straight 15 minutes or more the first time I watched it. Almost the whole episode. I just started crying and I don't know why, at first. As the scene progressed, I cried because I finally understand why I'm crying, lol 😭❤️ But it's really one of my favorite episodes in this anime. I love it so much ❤️
