Ryan Martinie has been one of my favorite bassists for his tone as well as bringing a very technical style of bass playing to the metal genre, slapping and all.

Nolly’s bass tone is by far my favourite. Every single varient of tone he’s had through every Periphery record has hit the nail for me on what i like.

Super fat tone with crazy compession, to the point where some of his notes have a warm distortion.

Legend has it chris Squire, got his amazing tone by splitting his bass signal into two channels, one to an amped Classic S.V.T the other a marshall guitar head.i'am not sure how accurate that information is,you gotta do your own research on that matter. However,i do know he had a very unique picking style,in which incorporated using his pick and thumb simultaneously against the strings.

Lemmy's bass tone is the best metal bass tone ever recorded, it feels like ur being hit by a tank when u listen to it.

Nolly has my favourite bass tone, rough and aggressive bit fantasy resonant definition between notes
