I had similar reaction that you had to Automatic were I thought that track was just okay but it has quickly become one of my favorites. Keep up the great work man!
The song “automatic” was written by Tom about/for his daughter AVA, who the band are named after, because she is heading off to college (either last year or this year) it’s a song about him being proud of her going off and doing her thing and her life as her own person and being adult beginning :)

Seen the video go live, but hadn't listened to the album yet. So I made sure to give it a play before watching. I know you intend to do blink-182's Neighbourhoods at some point. The song Automatic gave me immediate vibes of the kind of sound blink had on that album.
Some of these songs just feel like fillers to me, but a lot of them I absolutely love. Each song seems to tap into a different influence of tom’s from the different genres he grew up listening to
I have a feeling that even though you gave a high rating to that album, he enjoyed it the least. Emotions speak for you. Or am I wrong? Your reactions to older AvA albums are full of emotion. Be sure to check out other EPs and albums from them and try and blink 182 - neighbors.
That is definitely next up for anything by AvA or blink. I will say it is my least favorite from them so far although I still enjoyed it. It felt like it was different from all the others. The ratings scale needs updates haha. The scores are most likely not accurate if you compare it to one I did back then. So I will probably do a video on giving them a new score as well
