ive used the t3+ for almost 2 years now, and use the timeless AE's too, the t3+ is honestly better lol the 300$ ie300s from sennheiser come monday so if tHOSE sound worse then the t3+ ima be very impressed.
@@samarthbhat7889 for one, you said was, indicating it used to be and is no longer two in terms of resolution, the timeless wins the t3+ sounds to high-mid comparing it to my more balanced iems now
I think people should appreciate how well you explain these points with the proper disclaimers for personal taste. Respect. I would say from personal experience - the 7Hz sounded way darker in the sample than it is in real life. The T3 Plus was captured very well. Thanks for all of your effort you're a gem to the community :)
Timeless is weird. Some days I really enjoy it, some days I'm kind of indifferent. When I first got them it took me a while to get into them even though they were technically impressive. The first songs that grabbed me were 'Iron Maiden - The Writing On The Wall' and 'Danko Jones - Lovercall'. Conversely, the Obsidian was one of the first higher priced IEM's I bought when I first got into this hobby and it has been one of my all time faves since. It has ruled the sub $200 tier with an obsidian fist and is my first recc for a fun tuned IEM.
I've never really looked into headphones at all, but after going down the audiophile research rabbit hole with a budget of $100 and deciding on the T3+ for my first real pair, they sound amazing! I've also had problems with earbuds not fitting properly in the past, but the T3+ stays in my ear well too.
LOVE your review here. Yes. Pleasant editing, Patient room for people to listen to and compare. Relevant comments without being too verbal. It's great.
I really appreciate all the time you spend on these demos. They really help me understand better the differences between IEM's and form my own opinion about what I like better without having to commit hundreds of dollars only to find out that what I purchased is not as good as I hoped. With regards to demos of more expensive IEDM's that's OK but normal mortals can't afford IEM's that cost thousands of dollars so I would appreciate it if you can do more demos of IEM's that are within the reach of most people. What you did here was perfect IMO. These IEM's are near the upper limit of what I am willing to spend and so are a lot more useful than demos of something I can never have. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate all the work you do with this videos, Dan. Seriously. I love these audio demos personally. I’ve had my timeless for about a month now and I couldn’t be happier with them. I got a Fiio BTR3K for Christmas and with the balanced output they again blew my mind. Truly my end games for a long long time.
That’s my setup! I can tell you, the next intensely better power I’ve used is with the Fiio Q3, and the HipDac of course, they open them up so wide and vividly
Oh10 for me, the music has more air to breathe. Timeless has more lush and body for thicker vocals, bass-rich. T3+ is kinda a mix of both, good as the all-rounder choice..
Thanks Dan. I always enjoy and appreciate your efforts in bringing a little more understanding into the various characteristics of IEMS. Taken at face value, todays comparison is very interesting, with some of the more popular sets being portrayed. I only own the T3+ out of todays line up, and I used them to listen to the comparisons. In very general terms, to my ears, the Timeless sounded warm and lush, the OH10s sounded bright and clear and the T3+ sat in the middle of the 3. With the OH10s, I found myself inclined to turn the volume down a little. A little brash for me at times. The Timeless seemed slightly lacking in treble energy. Both the Timeless and the OH10 sounded beautiful in quieter sections, detailed and spacious. I think the T3+ are a good choice for all rounders, being non fatiguing, great fit/seal and very light. They may lack a tiny bit in the refinement of the other 2, but based solely on your video and their competitive price point, certainly worthy of consideration.
Super underrated channel man, appreciate you reviewing IEMs for multiple genres and especially for electronic which isn't done by any other IEM reviewer on RUclips that i know of. Can't wait to see your reviews in 2022!
Through the sound demos the Obsidian sounds like it had excessive upper mids, liked it the least out of the three. But of course testing them in person might be a significantly different experience. T3+ was impressively balanced, felt the most balanced and with the best tonality. Timeless also sounded quite balanced, with more lower mids, more body, more expansive sound. For some reason bass comes across as mostly the pretty similar for all sets in terms of volume/weight (not tonal quality), but I expect it's very different in person.
Great top two, Dan. There's no doubt the Obsidian's are gems. I also thoroughly enjoy the T3 Plus. I've ordered the Timeless from Drop and can't wait to get them.
The 7Hz Timeless sounds so much fuller than the IKKO OH10, particularly in the sub and mid bass. I agree with you that the OH10 can sound more exciting, especially in the treble region, but I find myself more drawn to the completeness of the Timeless. I'm listening to this on my Sennheiser HD 58X and FiiO BTR5 2021. This is probably my best gear for these A/B tests. I'm fairly new to IEMs, and my first one was the BLON BL-03. I still love those, and they'll be in my collection for as long as I'm in the hobby. Then I got the CCA CRA. But having seen and heard what is possible, I want to experience high quality but not shell out so much. It's funny - I was looking at the Moondrop Blessing 2 Dusk, Variations, and ThieAudio Oracle. But I'm also looking at price to performance, and it's hard to beat the Timeless in that since it's $180 USD here. Those may have slight advantages in tonality, but it's hard to justify 2-3x the price.
So I am not a music guy in any expertise, but what I "feel" for the jazz between the Timeless and the OH10 kinda reminds me of the feeling I might get in the lobby of a nice hotel. In the morning, excited for the day the OH10 feels like what I'd want to drive up my energy and mood. In the afternoon or evening, the Timeless feels like the subtle more warmth of what I'd want to have settling into a nice chair with a book while I process in the back of my mind the events of the day. For the edm, the OH10 and T3+ really bring out the beauty of the vocals in such aa great way, but they do feel harsher than the timeless in the breakdowns. I have a feeling that the difference between how you describe the T3+ for fatiguing here may have to do with either the demo itself or just our differences in preferences. For the Modest Mouse track, well that was quirky lol. The Timeless definitely seems like it might have been missing some of the energy of the instruments, but I actually kinda preferred how it handled the instruments over how the OH10 did, they seemed fatiguing to me. The vocals on the other hand the OH10 felt like what I preferred, as the Timeless felt like it cut out a bit of the vocalist's excitement, but the instruments did feel a bit obnoxious. The T3+ overall didn't offend and let me enjoy the song without having either of these issues distract me from the experience. Dream Theater though.... Darn, that one hurt. One of my favorite bands, with so many different very specific aspects to the sound that I want to relish in, but they *are* a metal band and having the warmth of the metal themes to tie it all together just made me wish for something that wasn't compromising any of it. It makes me *yearn* to experience it wholly with my full existence.
Wow... this is exactly the sort of sound comparison within different genres that I was looking for ! And thank you for your well-thought-out, detailed analysis supporting your thoughts on how these two approach and represent the differing genres of music... I already have the OH10 but the crispy highs were/are fatiguing to me within certain genres/styles of music... but in other genres I'm absolutely loving the OH10... but now I can clearly hear how the Timeless, with its excellent bottom end fullness and warmth etc and more 'relaxed' approach to the higher frequencies is going to sit alongside the OH10 perfectly for me... HUGE thanks for these videos and detailed comparisons and impressions ! Cheers !
What doesn’t totally capture is that the Timeless can have crisp areas. I just want to be entirely cautious where I ought to be for people seriously considering buying it. It is smoother than the Obsidian overall at times, but then there are tracks where the Timeless isn’t as smooth as one can get with other gear out there. But the timeless is certainly a fantastic compromise for what it does.
@@dansaudioreviews Interesting... okay thanks... I will take that point into my consideration of the Timeless. I'm also going to look at the Dunu SA6 as you suggested.
Thanks for this! I commented on your other video about the Timeless and Kato for EDM -- thanks for getting back to me on that so quickly. I never heard of the Obsidian before, now my choice is even tougher. I am sensitive to sibilant nose, so now it looks like the OH10 is a strong contender.
Tin3+ , definitely sounded like breath of fresh air over all those , yep , this is how the demo sounded here , don'no bout the real life comparison , though .
From 44:58 every earphone sounds thinner and less natural on male vocals than the HD6XX (especially the Tea) tho the Timeless gets close (albeit with other shortcomings in the recording). Listening on £20 Monoprice Retros that can distinguish differences between all the samples btw :-) Between the samples and your descriptions I get a good idea of how they sound however and I know how much work this must have involved so well done 👏
I just picked up The Oxygen for $120.00 new on a ebay auction......and my T3 plus comes on Tuesday, I ordered it with a silver cable from Linsoul that cost more than the T3 plus ......some people say the cable sucks....... I have been eyeballing the OH10 they have them on ebay new for $150.00 and you should try the MELE with jazz ....ha ha exceptional..... Most have no idea of the performance of the MELE for $50 bucks.......I have become a believer ...... The Mele was the best purchase I made in 2021 ......
Forgot to thank you for your videos and your channel......I keep coming back because you sound sincere and say it the way you see it and hear it ! ....... Thanks and happy 2022 !!!!!
Great selection of Jazz and EDM, I was getting tired of my HD 650 and wanted to get back into the IEM game and I gotta say out of these the OH10's sounds really airy, I'm sure with a better replacement 2pin cable and soundstage DAC it can further extend that out! it is weird how Crinacle placed the OH10's as a C tier iem and Timeless on A tier
Best of the 🎄season 🍻 Just ordered the Tin T3 +..as a companion to my OH10’s 😋 I was thinking of the Timeless 7HZ..but I hear that they’re power pigs…and if I may ..though Zeos gave them a recommendation..but when questioned in the comments section..the OH10’s and the KATO are easily recommended if you can’t pull the trigger on the 7HZ.
Actually listening the demo with the Timeless + HiBy FC1 dongle (70+70 mW), and listening to original tracks cause the demo don't reflect real sound of the magneplanar
Love me some Kimbra. Timeless did her justice. 🥰 Absolutely enjoyed these reviews. My ears tend to agree with you about 90% of the time. To be expected. The music also makes the video all the more enjoyable, as they are to my listening taste as well. Price wise, here in Malaysia the Timeless and Obsidian (OH10) are both going for around USD175.00 if we buy them online.(Just have to shop around for the best deal and discount) Shipping is free at these prices, and they are coming from China. So it looks like I am going to have to get both... eventually. 😁
The longer that dynamic driver loosens up the better it will sound, now timeless for jazz it missing the beautiful bass, rumble ,the decay is a must for jazz, everything else sounds great on t3plus I will only choose what your body and heart likes.
another interesting video from you. Good one. I love the word "balanced" you used in describing Tin T3+. There is slight nasality / murkiness in the Timeless demo. Perhaps you should use higher wattage amp? Based on my experience (home), drivers need power, Planar especially. It will open up the sound and image better (again, based on past home experience). The better the fuel, the brighter it shines. The T3+ is indeed a very good iem.
Top 2 are so neck in neck...but when oh10 goes on sale for $140 it's another incentive to be the winner. I would love to hear a demo of the oxygen and and final a4000 if you get one on your desk. Happy Holidays! Best channel ever.
Just what I was looking for, Dan. I will have to watch these video several times before I decide between the two. Happy new year and I can't wait to see what you have for next year!
Awesome job with the comparisons! I truly appreciate it. I just ordered the OH10 and very appreciative of hearing how it compares with some of you top picks! I’m also pleasantly surprised about how great the T3 is from a much less expensive unit! T3 seems like one of the best if not the best overall IEM for the budget sensitive consumer! For me, I plan to use the OH10 for my studio/video recordings and not have bulky over the ear headphones to contend with. Thanks for the great work.. I’m a new subs. 👍🏻
Both iems are in my weekly rotation.. You can't go wrong with either. Obsidian highs a tad unbearable for me though.. But that's track dependent. 7hz and Ikko have their work cut out for them to produce a better sequel
Tracks that are already meant to be extremely punchy (above the bass range) are like putting a hat on a hat with the oh10 and it does start to get harsh.. However, the oh10 injects energy into softer tracks/segments which make them great fun, and in the bass range it's always good. I think the timeless is the more all-rounder option with more all-round quality, but the oh10 can be like a drug in the right circumstances- punchy yet defined and emotional.
Awesome video, so thoughtful and yet respectful and humble. I'm so happy to see that the Obsidian performs so well. I've been considering the Timeless for a while given all the amazing reviews but I gotta say my heart always told me there's something off about how they look when compared to gems like the Obsidian.
I got Obsidian after your review on these and simply love the way they sound. These will be my main and only IEM/earphones for listening to music. But I cannot imagine them replacing my HD600/HD58x or the PXC 550-II wireless as I love their feel and sound of headphones. I did get the Bluetooth cable/adapter for Obsidians as well, so definitely will replace my Sennheiser True Wireless Momentum 2.
So I have the hd58x's was wondering how you feel about the Obsidians today. I've been looking into IEMs and wanted to get started off right. Would you recommend the Obsidians or should you have gone with the Timeless? How has your experience been with them? (Also I listen to metal/rock if that helps to better understand my musical taste)
@@dylanhprice Hey, still using Obsidian and enjoying. They are little on a warmer side with very deep and fast bass. Timeless, they are little different, for just simple enjoyment of music, Obsidian for sure.
Thanks for this video Dan. Interestingly, got a different take on many tracks. Overall, much prefer the Timeless tonality. Feels more intimate, musical, and more importantly less fatiguing than OH10.
I have the timeless and they are very good for the price especially for the bass and treble extension, I just wish they had a touch more ear gain which can be fixed with a teeny bump of EQ at 4k of 2-3db IMHO.
Dan, I’m typing this note while listening to my brand new Ikko OH10…I mean…Obsidian IEMs. I just unboxed them today. I got the Obsidian mainly because of your various comparisons and recommendations. I‘ve only had about an hour with them, but my initial impressions are… I’m glad I got them. I’ve been enjoying the Moondrop Kato, but only occasionally missed the bass at times that my Powerbeats (IEMs for running, yard work, etc…) can punch out - with more compromises of course. I was reluctant at first, but when the Ikko set dropped to $160 I pulled the trigger. I may prove myself wrong, but I’m guessing I’ll gravitate to the Kato for singer-songwriter and some other tracks with thickly layered mixing, but I think I will really love the OH10s for most of what I listen to. I really hope others will discover your channel. I really appreciate your style. You are engaging without gimmicks. I have a channel more or less in its infancy stage, so I know what it takes to produce these videos. I also appreciated your second take on the KZ CRN story. You’re the only channel that I saw address it. I actually bought a set out of curiosity. I think they are pretty remarkable for what they are, but are uncomfortable for my ears. Thank you for the helpful content.
Alot of guys use the qudelix 5k, and use the parametric eq settings and they become one of the presets which you enjoy, theres nothing like a parametric eq, it's a dsp, its what's use in home systems and in hifi car audio, sometimes you have to eq, it's never gonna be one iem for everything, real pros and even audiophiles eq if the iems can handle it, we all change taste mood, it's normal, see ,one day you might love techno, the next day you hate it and want , want some smooth female jazz vocals
Another great content Dan, great picks for the sub under $350.00 range, the Timeless and Obsidian, and continue on making great content, just love your take on reviewing IEMs and headphones through rigs and sound demo tracks and have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and as well a great, wonderful, blessed and safe New Year 2022 to you and your family and stay safe
Such a dedicated and detailed work Dan...shows real involvement....enjoy my Timeless..i hear oh10 more sibilant and i might tired soon with it so a skip...thanks for the work. I guess 3 to 2 timeless vs oh10 with last track goes to timeless.
I never thought that I would say t3plus has weight separation and feels open, the tea seems thin and shouty, and timeless seems that the bass is just bass
Listening on ER2XR, I can safely say i can save my money and not buy Timeless (Yes, i was looking for Planar IEM for sometime). Like you say there are time you just hate "specify" iem on certain days/hour. Which what i get from ER2XR, I think i will just get T3+ as i enjoy it the most through out the sound demo. Really enjoy on you do review, Keep up the good work and hope more IEM brand reach out to you.
The OH10 might be my endgame at the rate things are going. I'm not the kind of person to spend more than $200 on an iem/headphone. I love audio, but there's some kind of mental barrier with me on going beyond that. There's something about the soundstage that just can't be beat for me. My only hope is maybe something comes along to be my "on the go" alternative. It's hard for me to bring a $200 iem around in my pocket and not worry about it.
Congrats on the awesome work! I really enjoy listening to the recordings, and the comparison of the sets. I don’t know if you intend to cover this topic too, but I’d love to hear some TWS comparisons and indications.
Wireless has been a struggle. Some that people could be most curious about, would be to compare the AirPods against others. But, I haven’t been able to get the AirPods to record with good seal and appropriately enough accurate tuning recorded. Other wireless can have a similar issue. It’s been tough. I want to.
thank you so much for these great contents .. and especially thank you for introducing me to "the mile" aaah I never get tiered of this song .. the moment he reaches peak " no way arouuuuund" .. OMG.. just WOW
I always wanted to try the obsidian. I have not heard one single person say anything negative. Also someone needs to check out Dan’s garage sale. I just bought one of his IEM‘s. He shipped it so fast and it was basically new. I’ve never purchased anything from someone on RUclips but he will not disappoint!
I wish I could. Getting a downloaded file of these tracks can be odd to try. The Apple Music downloads folder only allows the files to open within the Apple Music program. And recording system playback on a max can be tricky. I want to look into it though since it is such a good idea.
From this demo I'm sure that all that the 7hz needs is an EQ to bring out the highs and it will vastly outperform the Oh10.the mids on the timeless sounds way better to me..may be due to it being planar.. But T3 sounds the best to me without EQ..
Love the fact that when you do this sound matches. I gear and got Mty opinion. Then with iem listen to this. It's other impression . The last bit the timeless was thicker amd great
Ok, I'm certainly no pro but, 1. The T3+ seem like a helluva bargain, and are an excellent in between of these three sound signatures. 2. While it's tempting to say that the Obsidians "sound better" because of the airiness of them, I think that the Timeless are overall a better iem--I'm not sure if that's bc of technical ability, or just a more "capable" sounding signature to me. 3. I wonder do the Obsidians get fatiguing after a while? 4. Honestly, I like ALL 3 of them, but for different reasons. If I was pressed I'd buy the T3+ and spend the $ I saved on music. However, ANY audio junkie knows you "NEED" all 3, right? Thanks for this sound demo and your thoughts, it was fun and super helpful!
Sort of off topic but I decided to listen to your video rather than watch to see which of the two I'd like more and instead it got me thinking how much I really want UM MEST's... I've been told it's one of the iems that you just have to actually have to listen to but I remember listening to your videos that compared them to others always made me remember how different it really sounded to me. I remember that experience so vividly and what excites me the most is ik listening to them via sound demos can almost mean nothing compared to the actual experience itself.
The MEST is indeed this thing that can wow you. Boy is it bright, but it engages people like crazy. Some of the most realistic sounding playback too, albeit not always thinly enough to sound real for some low end stuff. The demo does a pretty good job to show how beautiful it could sound. It doesn’t sound like the real thing still, but it’s pretty cool how much enjoyment makes its way through still in the demo.
funny thing is i use open back AT headphones and hearing songs thru that mic and thru the timeless is my favorite way to hear songs on these open back heaphones lol. wish i could have a EQ filter to put on everything to match the way my headset sounds when its on the timeless
I have to agree. These are two of the best values to be had. I don't get a good fit, comfort or seal with timeless. I tried a bunch of tips and it just sound 'leaky'. But the OH10 is sublime. I like it better than any of the sub $500 moondrops. It's actually by preference over my Sennheiser HD600 and HD800S !! I wish I could afford the OH7.
@@therealrussellsmyth I could not get a good fit with the Timeless. The OH are a very good fit (for me) I wear them for hours and can sleep in them. Ear shapes are different. It’s as simple as that.
i just drove 2 hours to a guy who has the timeless, it sounds very much like your demo! awesome so worth it, and they fitted well to... so now i gotta find out more about the mests and morarchs.. god damned. i m cursed lol
I listened your test with my Sennheiser HD800 super Dupont and i feel the 7Hz to be muffled. It seems like the medium is under a blanket. The Obsidian is dynamic but more upper mids and clearer. The more balanced is the T3+ but not dynamic, more mellow, soft. It's kinda between the two with no agressivity. Funny you prefer the 7Hz...
Yea by the sound demo only, I would also prefer the Obsidian or T3+ over the Timeless. But the technical prowess of the Timeless, the great perceived detail of them, makes them a stellar listen in real life. Technical performance doesn’t translate great. Tonal quality is mainly only what you’ll hear in the demos.
Nube here but i bought the Aria before xmas and really liked the detail and there was some audible sub-bass.. not as much as I like but it was there. I decided to go for the 7hz and they arrived today.. to my ears the Aria might sound better. The 7hz sounds great with more high end and if I bought them first they wouldn't have been a disappointment, but for the money the Aria is it. It makes me nervous moving into other even more expensive sets. I also tried the Mele and found it had better bass but the detail and space around the sound was not there. I'm going to say the law of diminishing returns might be at peak sound in this range at least for my brain holes. Really like your reviews tho. thanks (Pink Floyd, Crystal Method, Taylor Swift)
Update to my comment -- I had a chance to listen to the 7Hz again for a longer duration and with a few different players and some different songs -Iphone Xr, iPad Pro 11, and Onkyo dpx-1a and yes the sound I was looking for is coming through. Also I changed the ear tips so that likely gave a bit better fit to my ear and improved the low end.
Thank you for your great work!! Think you have the most helpfull channel for me since i try to find out which iem could be the best for my taste. At the moment i´m interested in the oxygen, kato and maybe oh10- or maybe the Etymotic ER2SE (cause it´s on sale for 78 € :-) maybe not enough bass/no fun?). i´m searching for an natural sounding allrounder (rock/metal, funk, jazz, hip hop, edm but also music to relax and chill- not a lot of classic). I think i liked the oxygen most but there were only short impressions of the sound in your review of the kato. Want something to get lost in the music for 1-2 hours a day- which one do you think is the best allrounder? Thank you!!!
While listening to the DT sample I was getting nervous because you didn't add the T3+ and then when it finally came I knew this was my take. Timeless seems too much dark, OH10 pretty good, but there's something on the T3+, at least while listening from these samples, that hits me in a way the others doesn't.
Pls don't make any deduction from the demo, magneplanar recording is problematic (see Timeless review demo), treble amount and resolution is way better when actually hearing the 7Hz iem
Your suggestion for "Clapton Unplugged" and unplugged in general as music listening target? I found Timeless more... amalgamated and OH10 with more separation and definition but a little bit harsh sometimes...
i listen this with kz zs10 pro. for me t3+ sounds the best of all, on one song i liked how smooth 7hz was, and on last song t3 and timeless sounded the best, tea was the worst of the worst and 7hz was at 2th from the back. anyway 3t+ most rich, vocals sounded best and whole song just idk, not muted and keeps every song at best as possible, consistent. im new at this all audiophile world and anyway its hard to judge listening through non-flat earphones
I don't usually comment on video's but I also agree with this; I'm very new to this audiophile thing as well (and probably will not be spending a lot of money) but to me the T3+ also sound the best out of all of this. I ordered the CCA CRA (very cheap buds) before listening to this video, based on multiple review videos on youtube but if I hadn't already I would probably go for the T3+ now.
@@NikonBE i got it, at first i did not see mutch difference from kz i have, but after 2 weeks of t3, kz started to sound bad, less detailed, i have some bluetooth headphones and those started to sound just terrible... my ears got used to t3+ and now i see huge difference. already when i got kz these were super clean pair bit after t3 they started to sound bad. runny
Can’t agree more. I’m just U on this occasion. Owning the KZ ZS10Pro and hearing through them, the T3+ sounds the best/most pleasing for me. I got the Fiio FD3 Pro today yet to unbox and try. Wish I stumbled on this video earlier, would have definitely got it but can’t rule the Fiio yet.
Great video, timeless + obisidian offer incredible value. It would be great if you could review the QoA Adonis or the newest offering by Kinera the idun Golden. Cheers. :)
The most torn I've ever been, listening to one of your videos with the demonstrations. The metal/hard rock section was just... Some parts favored the H10, some favored the Timeless, and some that T3 really shined in the demo.
Do you suggest an IEM under 100 for this kind of comparison (listen to these comparisons)? Or under 50, maybe? Great work man, found your channel not long ago and really enjoying the videos. Thanks.
Check the rankings list in my description for a total comparative look. While it’s impractical for me to compare each earphone to each and every other earphone, I can at least say that the S12 is a strong competitor at any price point for those who like the sound.
do you think it's more accurate to listen to these demos on bookshelf speakers (I don't have sub). open back headphones. or closed back? It is hard to judge soundstage in a recording but the hd6xx part helped me judge what audio cues are "soundstage." Also helps that I own open backs and I've heard demos of open backs. From what I could tell from the recordings: -timless had better bass extension and fullness, without being dark sounding -oh10 had better upper mids, soundstage and air -t3 plus had similar sound to oh10, but less soundstage, a bit more upper treble for cymbals (it could have been just less soundstage that made treble sound closer for the recording in comparison). I came to this conclusion because voices also sounded closer. soundstage size ranking: tea oh10 t3+ a little better than timeless what are your opinions on my soundstage impressions? Also, which iem have you used with the largest soundstage?
Im new to this, just bought the cca cra first then s12,i felt like the s12 lacks on bass to EDM listening so bad that i prefer to use my cra there, but for listening to rock s12 is light years ahead
I would love to. It’s on my radar for sure. Hopefully I can get my hands on a loaner or save up enough to make buy it along with so many others recommended to me.
So, at the end, wich tips and cable do you ad advice for the obsidain? Thanks for both the review of them, i chose It against tineless only listening to your sensations. I listen more classical baroque music and i Need that space and glimmering that you'Ve reported . Tineless are too dull. For that sound, i've already have Philips Fidelio . I Also ordered a questyle amp. I'm crossing my fingerss. Another question: how Can you understand if an iems benefits from an impedance changer? Thanks for your answers
Come onnn where are the Mangrids man :D Was really looking to see them here. Anyway, how does the Mangird sound when it comes to EDM stuff, compared to the other 2?
In the right mindset, I enjoy them like I do other bright gear (like my favorite bright electronic audio gear, the HD800S). The Tea can sound a bit different in timbre though. This can be appealing or not, depending on tastes and mood and whatnot. I personally prefer the MEST though, on bright IEM options. But that’s super expensive. Under this $350 price bracket…the Tea is one of the best of the bright sets. I would recommend it in that styling. Though, personally I prefer the styling of the low end prominent stuff like the Timeless and Obsidian. I like their bass presence more than I like the Tea’s take on bright gear. Apples and oranges. And here, I’m preferring the apples. This is all personal taste of course though. I could see people preferring the Tea, even if it isn’t the best orange.
@@dansaudioreviews Wise words as usual! I have had my fare share with apples (The ikko), It's time for some oranges! Do you think the Tea's bass is stronger? and for god's sake make a review on themm please :D
@@XhMOod12345 I found the Obsidian to have the strongest punchy bass of all of them. The Tea didn’t hit me as something with prominent punch as the Obsidian nor lushness of the Timeless. The Tea’s general take on me was so bright, that any bass that is present, isn’t felt as highly as in the others.
Just to add to the conversation, I haven't been able to get my IKKO OH1 sit securely in my ears. The nozzles are very short and the body doesn't let the IEM fit into the ear canal. The closest I've come to a secure fit has been with the 1more Triple Driver IEM tips (13mm) that are pretty shallow (stem is short) but the included tips for the OH1 stick out at least 3mm from the end of the nozzle and so push the IEM out of my ear canals. The shape of the earpieces is also odd. The IEM can't sit flat in the ear. You have to either push the top in or the bottom point into the outer ear. Either way, the top or the bottom point will stick out or be angled in. I haven't tried foams because those irritate my ears too much. How do you who own either OH1 or OH10 make them sit securely? Thanks for the video.
Interesting. I haven’t had fit issues with the OH10. It’s good to add these personal experiences to the community discussions. Maybe others will have similar fit issues and need to consider that. This may be one of those things where every ear shape will be different to the fit.
To get correct impression I first listened those tracks directly from tidal and than from video. This gives reference point to feel how those earphones interpreted sound. Had a feeling Timeless is more enjoyable, but OH10 is more "precise", more Pro (?) probably.
I have both, they are great PD: I already view all the video, your conclusions are right and i agree with all of them, in particular with that feeling of timeless and ikko being perfect for have a powerful and enjoyable listening session over other more balanced headphones
If you’re looking for wide soundstage with theater like experience the oh10 has it. The resolution and imaging is also above average. The 7hz timeless has better resolution and imaging but in soundstage I’ll go with oh10. Just like Dan I tend to grab the obsidians more and I’m planning to sell my timeless and get myself a pair of the upcoming thieaudio elixir which is said to have neutral sound sig with bigger soundstage.
it really surprises me how good the t3+ sounds considering the price..
ive used the t3+ for almost 2 years now, and use the timeless AE's too, the t3+ is honestly better lol
the 300$ ie300s from sennheiser come monday so if tHOSE sound worse then the t3+ ima be very impressed.
@@EazyRed the t3+ was better than the timeless AE?
can you elaborate?
@@samarthbhat7889 for one, you said was, indicating it used to be and is no longer
two
in terms of resolution, the timeless wins
the t3+ sounds to high-mid comparing it to my more balanced iems now
I think people should appreciate how well you explain these points with the proper disclaimers for personal taste.
I listen to metal mostly. How is 7hz timeless for metal?
what is your opinion to the differences of these two IEMs?
I have the same question, like you I listen to a lot of rock/metal and currently can't decide between the timeless and Obsidian
It's great.
Thank you! That’s what I go for 👍🏻
I really appreciate all the time you spend on these demos.
They may lack a tiny bit in the refinement of the other 2, but based solely on your video and their competitive price point, certainly worthy of consideration.
exactly my take on it and my situation as well, I have a T3+ too and it's phenomenal
I appreciate how thoughtful you are when it comes to the timing of transitions. You are not random but purposeful. I also enjoy the surprises!
Super underrated channel man, appreciate you reviewing IEMs for multiple genres and especially for electronic which isn't done by any other IEM reviewer on RUclips that i know of. Can't wait to see your reviews in 2022!
Funny to find this video, just picked up the 7hz timeless after owning the OH10’s for just under a year and love them both
You’re channel is growing, rapidly. Good work on these audio demos. So helpful. Jazz is great for demos.
I ordered just now the timeless, and they are the first ever iem that I'm buying!
So do you like them, how do they sound?
@@ravager337 I absolutely love the Timeless; love it's textured sound. It's easily one of my best sets.
@@GuavaJuiceBane thanks for the reply man!
I really needed to know.
Один из немногих каналов, где есть запись и очень подробные комментарии по каждой модели наушников для разных жанров музыки. Спасибо Дэн!
Best Channel for headphones!
T3 plus, pretty impressive for the price
I've had my OH10 for 6months and love them. Paired with a utws3 is amazing for portable and casual listening
Man your content is truly high quality! You deserve a lot more subs! Very informative and entertaining as well!
T3+ is just a less bassy and less resolving Timeless. For bass canons Obsidian's seem a bit bright compared to the two.
Wow... this is exactly the sort of sound comparison within different genres that I was looking for !
Many hours of work 😅 thank you for the appreciation!
Best of the 🎄season 🍻
Just ordered the Tin T3 +..as a companion to my OH10’s 😋
I was thinking of the Timeless 7HZ..but I hear that they’re power pigs…and if I may ..though Zeos gave them a recommendation..but when questioned in the comments section..the OH10’s and the KATO are easily recommended if you can’t pull the trigger on the 7HZ.
104 dB sensitivity, any dongle with 70 mW is enough...to being deaf. They need a little less power than HE-4XX 🎧
@@monitostv Interesting…something to think about 😋
Actually listening the demo with the Timeless + HiBy FC1 dongle (70+70 mW), and listening to original tracks cause the demo don't reflect real sound of the magneplanar
Love me some Kimbra. Timeless did her justice. 🥰
Absolutely enjoyed these reviews.
So it looks like I am going to have to get both... eventually. 😁

Listening to this through Timeless. Definitely one of, if not, my best purchase of any gadgets this year!
Thanks Dan for putting so much time and effort into this it's just what I was looking for
Both iems are in my weekly rotation.. You can't go wrong with either. Obsidian highs a tad unbearable for me though.. But that's track dependent. 7hz and Ikko have their work cut out for them to produce a better sequel
Agreed on all points!
Thank you for the kind feedback! 🙇🏻♂️
Wow. Sounds like the oh10 slaughters the timeless to me.
Dan,
I’m typing this note while listening to my brand new Ikko OH10…I mean…Obsidian IEMs.
Comment made my night. Very kind and supportive of you to say all that. Most of all, I appreciate the trust you had in me to try them.
Would love to hear a comparison between Moondrop Kato and Timless.
the way you explain music is beautiful
This made my day 😌
Another great content Dan, great picks for the sub under $350.00 range, the Timeless and Obsidian, and continue on making great content, just love your take on reviewing IEMs and headphones through rigs and sound demo tracks and have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and as well a great, wonderful, blessed and safe New Year 2022 to you and your family and stay safe
OH10 and T3 Plus! ❤👌🏻
Big thanks man. Timeless being a planar it hits different to me rather than dynamic drivers of others
OMG.. just WOW
Right?! My favorite rock band of all time, or at least my favorite albums.
Thanks for the positive feedback and share! Means a lot!
Ikko OH10 sounds better than both my hana 2021 and 7hz timeless. Might add ikko OH10 for my next purchase order. Great review Dan.
Timeless is a living room, Tin T3+ a small night club, Obsidian large night club.
t3+ looks the best and the obsidians sounds so clear and nice.
you should throw in a sound clip of the song demo playing so we can compare to our own device
I wish I could. Getting a downloaded file of these tracks can be odd to try. The Apple Music downloads folder only allows the files to open within the Apple Music program. And recording system playback on a max can be tricky. I want to look into it though since it is such a good idea.
I can not live without your video love your work very much keeo doing this for for me and others
I have all 3 of these and love them all. I think you and I have similar sonic preferences. Cheers!
From this demo I'm sure that all that the 7hz needs is an EQ to bring out the highs and it will vastly outperform the Oh10.the mids on the timeless sounds way better to me..may be due to it being planar..
But T3 sounds the best to me without EQ..
It almost sounds like the OH1 is more technical than the T3+ but the T3+ has better tuning.
I like this guy he give me something I can’t see in another RUclipsr people
Love the fact that when you do this sound matches.
Love these videos! hope you do alot more and get a million subs👊
Love the obsidian my favourite iem I own but hate the bl03 premium cable it comes with its a must change
How come you couldn’t get a good fit btw. Love the sound of them but this is not encouraging to hear
@@therealrussellsmyth I could not get a good fit with the Timeless. The OH are a very good fit (for me) I wear them for hours and can sleep in them. Ear shapes are different. It’s as simple as that.
Great work 💪, important price range 🔥
i just drove 2 hours to a guy who has the timeless, it sounds very much like your demo! awesome so worth it, and they fitted well to... so now i gotta find out more about the mests and morarchs.. god damned. i m cursed lol
I’m very glad that it worked out for you 🤘🏻
I listened your test with my Sennheiser HD800 super Dupont and i feel the 7Hz to be muffled.
@@dansaudioreviews so, for my first IEM, do you recommend Timeless or Obsidian?
@@samys2792 Probably Timeless
@@BobMcKerrell you need a more powerful source for the timeless
@@monitostv Can second this they have a lot more treble and bass clarity than is heard in the demo, coming from a timeless owner
Your suggestion for "Clapton Unplugged" and unplugged in general as music listening target?
I found Timeless more... amalgamated and OH10 with more separation and definition but a little bit harsh sometimes...
You dissect music we mostly just enjoy it and rock on
Obsidians are still good in 2022. T3+ is amazing for the price point.
i listen this with kz zs10 pro.
for me t3+ sounds the best of all, on one song i liked how smooth 7hz was, and on last song t3 and timeless sounded the best, tea was the worst of the worst and 7hz was at 2th from the back.
anyway 3t+ most rich, vocals sounded best and whole song just idk, not muted and keeps every song at best as possible, consistent.
im new at this all audiophile world and anyway its hard to judge listening through non-flat earphones
@@sharanm5622 hello, can you tell something about the fiio fd3 compared with the t3 +? thanks
Great video, timeless + obisidian offer incredible value.
It would be great if you could review the QoA Adonis or the newest offering by Kinera the idun Golden. Cheers. :)
On my end all 3 sounds the same to me, Obsidian & T3+ being a tad bit brighter, especially T3
From this video, I'm drawn to timeless...good work
I was hard set on getting the 7hz Timeless. But now you've pushed the Obsidian to S+ tier as well! Gaddamnit
Thanks.
Love this channel, but how about shuoer S12 compared to all the iems in this video?
Check the rankings list in my description for a total comparative look. While it’s impractical for me to compare each earphone to each and every other earphone, I can at least say that the S12 is a strong competitor at any price point for those who like the sound.
yooooo ty for the sound demos bro ❤️❤️❤️
do you think it's more accurate to listen to these demos on bookshelf speakers (I don't have sub). open back headphones. or closed back?
It is hard to judge soundstage in a recording but the hd6xx part helped me judge what audio cues are "soundstage." Also helps that I own open backs and I've heard demos of open backs. From what I could tell from the recordings:
-timless had better bass extension and fullness, without being dark sounding
-oh10 had better upper mids, soundstage and air
-t3 plus had similar sound to oh10, but less soundstage, a bit more upper treble for cymbals (it could have been just less soundstage that made treble sound closer for the recording in comparison). I came to this conclusion because voices also sounded closer.
soundstage size ranking:
tea
oh10
t3+ a little better than timeless
what are your opinions on my soundstage impressions? Also, which iem have you used with the largest soundstage?
Im new to this, just bought the cca cra first then s12,i felt like the s12 lacks on bass to EDM listening so bad that i prefer to use my cra there, but for listening to rock s12 is light years ahead
Hi Dan I would like to hear your impressions on the Final Audio A3000. I think it’s a really good iem that deserves some spotlight on it
I would love to.
Come onnn where are the Mangrids man :D
Was really looking to see them here.
@@dansaudioreviews
Wise words as usual!
I have both, they are great
PD: I already view all the video, your conclusions are right and i agree with all of them, in particular with that feeling of timeless and ikko being perfect for have a powerful and enjoyable listening session over other more balanced headphones
i was so sure i was gonna get the timeless, now im very confused since the ikko oh10 seem to be so open and nice
