  • We drove this thing in our shop with a wheezy 170HP 318 and a 4 speed manual and its going back home to the customer with a 6.0 LS backed by a 4L80E controlled by a P01 PCM on flex fuel! We turned this truck around from a bone stock Dodge D150 to a slammed truck with a nice rowdy powerplant. I have had my hand in a lot of different builds over the years and this one has been on of my favorites!

    Alright that’s it. Your video was by far the best to watch and motivate me to LS swap my 86 w250! They look so good in that engine bay.

    How did you do the fuel system? Like as far as the pump? Did you use stock fuel tank?

      The truck was originally a 5 speed manual. I blocked off the shifter hole in the floor and mounted a floor mounted shifter for the 4L80E auto.

    Do you guys make and sell those motor mounts and transmission mounts? I have a 82 d150 w slant six a looking to add a 5.3 to it with a 4l60 but not good at fabricating.

      Motors mounts is something I made out of plate and an S10 LS swap kit. Transmission crossmember was a little more involved but nothing too crazy at all.

      Those are Autometer Invision gauges. I modified the stock gauge bezel and made a couple of close out panels from an old blow molded case to make it fit and look nice. Pretty nice setup!

    What throttle ceble and braket did you use also what shifter

    • @aksmotorsports3882
      @aksmotorsports3882  Год назад

      If I remember right it was a throttle cable from a 99-02 Silverado with a NNBS intake throttle cable bracket and the shift is a B&M floor shifter

    LS swapping a dodge is as ridiculous as it gets. I’ve done several LS into old C10s and other GM. I’ve done the Hemi swap in several Mopars. 5 yrs ago it was a pain. Now it’s just as easy and costs the same. Unless it’s a LS3 or better the Hemi starts out with 40-75 more hp. And it bolts up to your existing transmission unless you start with a slant six.

    • @aksmotorsports3882
      @aksmotorsports3882  Год назад +8

      Shoot I’m on the hunt for another D150 to LS swap. Sure, the hemi makes decent power but they still aren’t quite as efficient as the LS, IMO. I’ve never seen a ready to drop in $500 hemi. Hemi camshafts tend to run more than $300. Why would I want to buy 16 spark plugs? I’d also be a little leery putting any kind of boost to a SBE hemi. Semi valid point on the transmission, but I’m willing the bet the 4L80E behind that LS is going to shift WAY faster and hold up a lot longer than the 4 speed that was originally in this pickup. Sorry bud, GM just does it better.
