They are also known as angle quotes, French quotation marks, or chevrons. In French, they are called "guillemet". However, many French texts use English quotation marks instead.

It is so hard to see what is being done and I find myself having to go back many times to see exactly where you are placing your hook. But I love your patience and your thorough instructions. If you can't seem to figure out where the mistake was you can try posting a pic in my facebook group and see what the group consensus suggests! (I'm in there too and count stitches on pics!)
Hi I am a beginner, can you please tell me which type of yarn should i use for blankets. As the brand you mentioned in the video is not available here in India. I am confused between acrylic, woollen yarns.
Personally, I am not that picky about brands. The design will show no matter what fibre your yarn is made of. Acrylic tends to be the most cost effective option here in Canada but I've heard that in some countries wool and cotton are not so expensive so they prefer those options. The fibre will affect the cost of yarn and the way you wash your blanket. It's probably more important to look at how thick your yarn is and making sure you choose two colora that contrast well. The Craft Yarn Council has charts and more information if you're not familiar with this, but I've used a medium weight yarn for this project (4 - worsted). You may need to double up your strands if you only have access to thinner yarns.
