Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RUclips channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

No good practicing and when you get on course do something completely different confidence is key if your over your ball and not thinking good thoughts you are pissing in the wind rick. P.s if you need a good caddy I'm ready whenever you are

James is such a fantastic player, it just shows you how good you have to consistently be to do well on Tour. I really enjoy watching him play. It's like all pro sports, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of excellent players who don't make it for one reason or another. Cheers.
Great drills the spiral was my favourite. I recently had a lesson with James really improved my game and explained the numbers so well. Rick can we have more from James with you.

Easy to set up. Great drills from James. Short and to the point. His putting is always very good to watch on the course. I've got lots of time to practice because the course near me is flooded!👏👏

I’m a 23.5 handicapper, I’m going to come back to this video in a years time and I’ll be a 15 handicapper.

I loved the buddy putting - i could see the pressure, even though it was in fun..
I actually do the spiral drill. Been doing it since the early 1990s. It works so well to not only understand pace but also reading the greens from all sides.

I like putting to the tee peg. My distance control is usually pretty solid, but I tend to burn the edges a lot. That drill could definitely help with accuracy.

I always use the three balls of 3 5and 6foot. Go 4 times around love that distance control. Putting to a tee is a new one to me. And will try it. Thanks James and Rick

The tee drill reminds me of the greatest piece of advice I ever got to improve my tennis game. TRY your best to see the number on the ball. Same concept. I know this tee drill will improve your putting. Great advice!!!
I don't know if I have a favorite. They all seem to hit on an important aspect of putting, line, pace, read, dealing with pressure. Really good.
We're lucky to have James on the channel as often as we do; it would be great if he became a permanent member of the team.
Must be the only practice green I've seen where you can use up this much space!

Rick i think james has to come on board with youand your team 👍 such a great bloke and is a natural infront of the camera 📸 definitely going to try these out on the practice green but think my best one is putting to a tee because like james says it will make you concentrate on a smaller target 🎯👍 keep up the great work and the great content coming.

I'm definitely using the last 2 tips. Another great vid.
Always used to do the last one as a junior. We’d spend hours doing it! Although we added the rule if someone holed it then you had a chance to keep it going if you made the next one which makes you really focus on it
I like that idea of visualizing a tee behind the hole.
My top 3 putting drills. 1) Yardstick drill. 2) James' distance drill. 3) Clock drill with varied distances.
Hey Rick, a great fun video thank you. My favourite tip was the 12 tees at different distances. I try the gate method myself, it helps me keep the putter straight at impact.

Those are great drills, i will use them but my daughter loved them also. She will start using them in tournaments and at college matches.

I like them all. I’m going to use all of them at my next putting session, when the snow melts. I’ll have to practice at six in the morning so I don’t interfere with the 25 other golfers on the practice green most days.
Big fan of the spiral drill - Not used before but shall be doing so as soon as I get back on the course
I like the focus to a tee peg. Usually I try to hit a quarter when practicing putting
Brilliant video. All great tips but My fav tip is the first one, its what i struggle with the most.

We or so do with a buddy pick a hole rules are 1 put birdy 2 put par 3 put bogie must see it in then winner picks next hole. If we have time before our tee off

My favorite tip was using two tees to practice your shots, as well as using one tee for the hole. One question I have is can your use the one tee method when practicing on a up-hill practice green at home?

What helps me is I watched a video of tigers putting drill and he says to putt to the Picture and it’s helped me hole a lot of putts

Hi RICK YOU ARE THE BEST VIDEO RICK GOLF
I do most these but one I seen over seas, an alignment stick under your arms ( to stop you throwing your arms), tense you stomach muscles ( to expecting a punch level) , slightly compression into your put, do not start the putt with putter ground rested. I have never seen anyone in the UK test this. I was shocked at the results, went from 2/3 out of 10 8fts puts to 7/8 out of 10. Aim to using the putter shaft, ( exact same method as an iron shot) to a spot just in front of the ball. Run on greens, UK greens just on the day practice to gauge, good luck..

Does the pace practice still stand where many course practice greens are different pace to those on course ie do you still personally see a benefit or use it just as a basic guide for the course only
As someone who scores around 95, how many putts should i have per 18? Am currently averaging 37.
Do green keepers like if someone puts tees in the putting green like that? I imagine what would happen if every golf member would do that everyday.
Thought the ball was going to be miles past the hole on the longer putts but the ball appeared to sit down next to hole like an iron would. Clip from 2:25 to 2:35. Not sure if it's the type of grass he was putting on or if the video was in fast forward. Did anyone else feel this way?

At the golf course I play at,they are very um amature courses the holes have big lips around them and it seems bad. I JUST HAD AN IDEAD WHERE YOU COULD GO AROUND MAKING GOLF COURSES BETTER AND VIDEO IT.

Oh, man! I feel you. I just had ankle fusion (same as Tiger's) surgery. Non-weight-bearing for six weeks and wear a "boot" for another four weeks. Then on to physical therapy. Heal up, fellow golfer! 🙂
