Era is more limited to the newbies. The massive amount of pvp, the overprices, and the repetitive jobs can highly limit the newbie experience. But era is more enjoyable if you spent enough time for improve.
In classic you can go to almost everywhere peacefully. With some sudden pvps against pks. And if you get killed you can revive in the spot and keep exploring. So its a bit more newbie friendly.
