- Mount Baloy is one of those adventures that push you to the edge of your comfort zone. It’s a steep physical challenge, but it’s the arduous conditions that make this one of the most challenging hikes in the Philippines.
We were wet every single moment of the hike except when sleeping, I pulled more than 500 leeches off my body throughout the hike and the undergrowth scratched me up beyond belief. Combine that with 2,800m of incline, multiple river crossings, and rugged terrain and it’s a damn tough adventure for the body and mind. The final layer of difficulty to this hike is receiving a permit, one of the most impractical processes of any trek in the world.
Without Benito, my climb simply wouldn’t have happened for so many reasons. He organized everything, accompanied me to get permits, and food, organized the local guides’ logistics, spoke English, and was one of the most helpful and friendly people I’ve met in the Philippines.

I found your blog site as I was searching for a travel blog about Alegria, Cebu and after reading some of your blogs, I can truly say how much you have invested in traveling to those beautiful places and giving in-depth information for some tourists who would like to visit such places. Then I tried to search for your YT channel, and here I am enjoying watching your vlogs!
Have climbed that 25 years ago… I brought with me a small scissors so everytime a leech attached itself to me, i just cut it with the scissors. I made it a point to check myself every one hundred steps just to get rid of them… your video reminds me of my experienced… i also left a coin in one of those trees as an offering to the gods… there should also be a lake on the summit which we missed because some of our friends were shivering from being wet and cold… one of my grandparents hide there during the war… thanks for the video

Damn, not only did this guy cycled 200+ kilometers to the destination and climbed one of the toughest mountains in the Philippines, but also vlogged it well. Why is it that when a foreign guy shoots vlogs about the Philippines, it seems like the country is very wild, untamed and exotic, but when a Pinoy does it, it seems like a regular day in the life. WOW! Everything in this video is just amazing! I cant imagine the challenge you faced during your trek! We climbed Mount Igcuron just 2 weeks ago, and man, it was already a tough challenge, so let alone Mount Baloy! I wish I will be able to muscle through Mount Baloy someday!

So much respect to you sir for being summitted the toughest among the hardest trails in the Phils. It's legit. Been conquest it also from San Agustin to Busog trails traverse which more difficult than the backtrail that you think. Baloy is a full packaged, everything is unlimited; river crossing, assault, crawl, hanging on the monkey trail and slides in cogon grasses. A must try if you like the most interesting ang exciting adventure.
your channel just came across and i saw that is all about climbing mountain in the philippines....and wow....this is incredible epic journey experience....i just love it how you survive in the jungle.
