It is such a pleasure to see you two, guys, walking through the island with happiness, joy and a smile in your face. I know almost all the trails you did and I love them. Madeira is an unforgettable place. Many thanks for the images.
I'm on Madeira now, made Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo and back yesterday and have goosebumps watching this. An amazing video. Beautiful island in its fullness. 👍
A thoroughly enjoyable video of your trip. What a beautiful place Madeira seems to be. I've seen a few of your films now and they are all really well made and engaging! Your commentary is always just right - neither too much information nor too little. Keep them coming!
Just watched this Jackson!! Fantastic brother, you guys are the superheros!! Entertaining, motivating and beautiful! Well done buddy and all the best for 2021!!
Thank you for your video. We loved your hike and decided to do IT! We just came back from Madeira and we did the same hike ULTRA MIUT 115! It was an amazing and epic hike!!!Thank you !!!
Amazing vid, i'm looking for a Madeira vacation and love hiking, while this seems Ultra it gave me a great impression of the beautiful nature of Madeira. What a must visit and must experience it is !
What a wonderful vicarious adventure as we sit here in lockdown! Phenomenal vlog. Great editing. So curious about who built and maintains that gorgeous trail. Si impressed by whole thing. Thank you.
Hey jackson, I'm Joao who works in MIUT organization. The path that was not maintained is called "Boca do Pau de Louro". It's is an old Shepperd path that cuts directly "Faja do Capitao" to the PR that leads to Pico Ruivo. As it's not as scenic and not as well know by locals it's not used as much, so a lot of "plague" plants grow on it. We usually just clean it a couple of months prior to the race. Nevertheless it was really cool seeing you do the course. Hope to see you soon out there!
Yea we figured there were a few sections that would be much cleaner for runners with the cleaning that happens before the race. Yea that one en route to Ruivo was really bad lucky we carried a machete. There will be a few sections that will take a lot of time to clean because no race this year made them thick. Great route overall :) Planning to run MIUT this year if it's on!
This is great, thanks for filming abs sharing this! I just happened to stumble upon your video only because I saw what happened to be your post on IG! Adding this to my list of must treks.
You are completely out of this world men!!! Walking machines, walking heroes. After my second visit of Madeira, two days before flying back to Germany, I can imagine what you have done... 👍🙏👋👋👋
WoW what an adventure!! In 4K no words needed! Amazing views great companion amazing experience amazing everything. Congrats and what a life time experience 👌
It's amazing to think many of these trails were built and carved a couple hundred years ago. My family is from Madeira and I wish to hike some of these "unknown" trails, and not just the typical/populated ones everybody seems to know. Nice video, editing and dialogue, Jackson. Must have taken a while. There was even a point when I thought you were Portuguese because of the way you were pronouncing some of the names.
I am motivated by your adventure videos, especially mountain hiking. I am from India, working in Dubai. Now I started doing small hiking here in dubai in my weekends. You are inspiring me. Thanks
I was listening garden radio and was curious about how Madeira looks like, then I search on RUclips and that is how I found your video. Thank you. Now you have new subscriber.
Congrats. This is a real accomplishment. I just did some treking in Madeira this summer and while I could excuse my fitness because of covid couch sitting the trails were really punishing with how vertical they were. Especially the Arieiro - Ruivo trail
What a hike What a video! Congratulations to you both (or is it three?) I have been up both pico ruivo and pico d'arriera several times but thought the walk between them was not for the faint heart-ed and I was right
Planning to do it next year.Nice video and blog! Did you wild camp all four days or could you walk out from the trail and sleep at a campsite and then re-enter the trail the day after? Is the trail quite well marked or you need map also?thanks :)
there are campsites directly along the trail more or less. in nuns valley we slept in a random patch of grass but ribeira frio and estanquinhos was an actual camp site.
is there any website or a place to find the whole path through madeira, to walk the same one you did? been stuck in austria since covid, need an outbreak, thanks
We just completed the MIUT trail earlier this month. and saw ice at the highest elevations but overall it was a great temp for hiking. Just plan accordingly.
Been twice. Love the place and the people. On the hill man and boy, wife wouldn't let me strut my stuff the last time 'cos my eyesight is failing but I aim to chat up my brother, another hillman to give this MIUT a go with me. I love the exposure in parts of the trail. Last time the Missus and I were sitting outside having coffee in Funchal when the young waitress asked if we had been there before? My wife said, No. The girl looked at me as I said "Yes", under the stare of my wife. "When?" "1968", said I. The girl beamed as she looked at me and said, "So, you will have the same memories as the old people." "Yes." I had to explain to my wife that this was not her saying I was old but in fact it was a compliment. She was saying that I knew Portugal and Madeira and how the people lived under Salazar and his secret Police......Best Wishes from Scotland. I'll be back. McIntyre
@@JacksonGroves In the conditions you both did, all the runners would give up at the start. How much kg on the backpack? After this you can climb the Everest
Torej, dolga in zahtevna pot, spita kar v šotoru. Jaz ne bi mogla tako, res sta pogumna in mora Madeire biti res nekaj posebnega. Ni kaj konkretnega za videti, če že raziskujeta okolje...

Best quote of the video -> João Paulo: "Xixi cama" hahahahaha
haha exactly
what is it? big fat joint?
