foden is somehow held back at an intl level by his ability to play anywhere, when that should make it easier to pick him, he is clearly most effective as a 10 he can dominate games from position

Foden is a generational talent who has been groomed and moulded by the best manager in the world and learnt from some of the best players in the world in his position. Gareth should play with two 8's hold with only Rice... There's no need for two 6's just to suit Maguire whereas English has got many solid centre back that don't need such protection

Foden no doubt. But they are different players and Southgate doesn’t use Maddison well. Don’t think we’ve seen the best of him in an England shirt.
Foden is largely ignored (Like the rest of the City players.) Shame because they have some of the best English talent and Foden is on another level tyo other English players. If he was Saka, everyone would know how good he is.
Henderson probably still gets in lol. Maddison first ten games is perhaps a better comparison. Only just come back from injury.

The best midfield for England would be Rice in the 6 , Trent at RCM and Jude in LCM and a bit more advanced . If there was a proper coach to handle these 3 in the middle , there’s isn’t a single international side who would have a better midfield currently

No. Play the city system with Double pivot of Rice and Stones inverting as a CDM and Bellingham playing as a 10 with foden in 10 in the half spaces behind the striker. England just need a defensive sound LW. Saka on the RW and that team will smoke almost anyone.

There’s a myth that Beliingham is a ten. I believe is an 8. He is not technically gifted like Foden who I believe is the most gifted midfielder in that England midfielder. Playing Rice & Bellingham & Foden as a ten that how England should play. Maybe I’m wrong but I think having Foden as a ten is the best ideal for England.

Foden scores a goal every 0.34 games whereas Maddison scores a goal every 0.32 games. Maddison has an assist every 0.31 games and foden every 0.2 games. They’re definitely in the same conversation

@@gabrielabarros2036 Foden is at the best club for a reason, not by accident. He's always been a much bigger talent than Maddison. Foden won England a u-17 world cup and won the golden ball trophy. If he hadn't already been at City then he would have been poached up by Barcelona or Real Madrid or Man United. There is no scenario in which Foden would have ever been playing for a poor midtable or relegation side because he is on a different level to James Maddison. No offense to him.
