- Hell yeah, so we're back (again). But, this time, it's not another RHCP cover. Couldn't resist to do this one. Born in pain, yet, we've done it. Check it out!
Recorded using:
-Fender '51 Reissue PBass into EHX Bass Big Muff into Mark Bass Big Bang into Guitar Rig 5 (cab simulation)
-Fender Highway One Stratocaster into Whammy IV into Fulldrive 2 Mosfet into Fuzz Factory diy clone into Guitar Rig 5 (amp, cab and whacky ringmod simulation).
-Both instruments into Focusrite Pro 26 I/O with Pro Tools 10 as a DAW.

Triton Seibert Honestly, I think that Fuzz Factory used on that part does most of the work, because of the very very high gain that it's known for. And we all know, how well the high gain of the booster/amp stage can enhance poor tapping skills :D I didn't play it very well - to be honest, I didn't practice tapping a lot within my life, as a guitar player, but somehow I made it... By the way, it was not a purpose to mask the lack of a skill by using an effect, I used it since I guess that Matt is using it too on the recording, but it's only a guess... :)
JanuszWezuwiusz3000 this was the first song I've done tapping on too. I finally got it down when I remembered the song assassin that also has a part that stretches 3 to 7 and position my hand the same way and it's so much easier :)
JanuszWezuwiusz3000 I guess an easier way of saying that is practice it on the low string that's what helped me
+JanuszWezuwiusz3000 Totally second what you say, the tapping sounds awful when used with certain distortion / effects / amps, but becomes completely effortless, way easier and sounds way slicker with high gain. It took me owning a modelling amp (Mustang IV) to understand this, and how much better the tapping sounded when using certain amps compared to others. So a note to others, if you think your tapping sucks, it might just be your rig!
The bass face is strong with this one.

Wow. Was not expecting this. Nicely done! Especially the artistic additions. I suggest posting a version that is paired with a drum cover (instead of the actual Reapers song) so that the guitar and bass can be more clearly heard. I think an instrumental would sound great, but if vocals are really desired then I'm sure there's a good vocal cover out there as well.
That intro tho, difficult af, but you guys nailed it.

+LittleBigMusic Hi man! Here it is: bit.ly/1OoflFT . I apologize for the delay, but I don't check all of the new comments very often. As for a preset - note, that I used Full Drive for some boost before the preamp, so it won't sound exactly the same unless you have this box or some of its hardware/software clones. I also did some automation here and there - clean channel in Gratifier is used for the tapping parts, because then there is a hardware Fuzz Factory engaged before the interface preamp. Then for basically the rest of the song it's Raw channel, and for the final RATM-sque part I use Modern channel. Knob settings remain unchanged :) And of course, ring-mod and filter are used just for a wee bit of a song, first note of a solo. Hope it will be useful :) Cheers!

The execution of the song was great but you really need to mix the song a but better. Too much high end and not enough body from the low end .

Turn up the bass man, it makes up so much of the song, also the slides before the vocals are just for bass, Matt has his own little thing he plays... Other than that sounds pretty good

Interesting interpretation bassist, the opening riff is usually played on the bottom two strings.
