Just watched the movie today and had two boomers on my left talking the whole time, and 30 minutes into the movie some black girl walks in with her baby and it starts crying for like 10 minutes, loud throughout the whole film. And of course: Gary Glitter, the man behind this song, is accused of having molested and raped several kids. The choice of this song, while badass in the first moment, indicates further of how deranged Arthur is. On surface this song seems like a cool tune to show his transformation into the Joker, but in reality, it creates a very creepy atmosphere, if you think about the details.

Not that I believe the film is as Oscar-worthy as everyone is trying to insist that it is, but it is much more of an actual cinematic achievement than any of the movies in the MCU or the DC continuum for that matter. Not counting the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy. Though it's probably better than The Dark Knight Rises.

When this song came on we saw Arthur transform into the Joker. The swagger, the confidence, and the bravado was just a beauty to watch unfold. And he’s finally going down the stairs instead of constantly having an uphill battle going up. He spirals down those stairs into the Joker... The Joker is no longer weak and frail like Arthur was. Joker walks with his head up and he looks stronger as opposed to Arthur who walked with his head down looking like a piece of prey, he’s the hunter now. He’s owned his situation and who he is and he’s not here to kiss ass anymore but here to take ass just to kick ass. Arthur was shy but when he becomes Joker he becomes charismatic. Even though he will embody evil it’s kind of liberating to see him actually be free but it will come at his demise. Yet I’m here for It and curious to watch it unfold. This is how you officially pass the torch. Heath Ledgers Joker can rest now. Joaquin Phoenix brought justice that was long over due but worth the wait

Just watched the movie today and had two boomers on my left talking the whole time, and 30 minutes into the movie some black girl walks in with her baby and it starts crying for like 10 minutes, loud throughout the whole film. She walked in around the part from the trailer where Arthur says “all I have are bad thoughts.”

So can we talk about the fact, that this movie draws inspirations from real criminals? The comedy club is Pogos, a reference to the serial Killer John Wayne Gacy, whos Clown alias was Pogo. And of course: Gary Glitter, the man behind this song, is accused of having molested and raped several kids. The choice of this song, while badass in the first moment, indicates further of how deranged Arthur is. On surface this song seems like a cool tune to show his transformation into the Joker, but in reality, it creates a very creepy atmosphere, if you think about the details.
