It makes it impossible to click on your start button or minimize your browser. If you have your computer configured to shut down when the power button is pushed your problem is solved. By getting your computer to shut down through normal procedure it will close all programs that are running. Once you restart your computer everything will be reset to normal, unlike doing a hard reboot where everything will pop up as it was before with the hijacked browser blaring away. It must go through the normal shut down in order to reset. I tell all my customers to NEVER call the number they are seeing in the browser and to call me instead. If you want to permanently disable Windows Update instead of having to prolong the pause every month, you can do this: I) In the Windows search bar, type "gpedit.msc" (If you don't find it or it doesn't work, you may need to activate/install it. I'll let you search for that online, it's fairly easy.) II) Inside the window that just opened, go to "Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update" III) After clicking on the "Windows Update" folder, you will see a bunch of group policies that you can activate/deactivate. I turned off: 1. "Automatic update service configuration" 2. "Automatic updates detection frequency" 3. "Activate app notifications" 4. "Allow immediate installation of automatic updates" 5. "Activate automatic recommended updates via the Automatic updates service". Now keep in mind that i had to translate the names of these five rules from French to English, so it most likely will be named differently for you. In short, you won't get any notifications about any new windows update, windows won't ever update without you wanting it, AND most importantly, when an update is available, it lets you choose in the 'turn off/reboot/sleep' menu if you want to simply turn off/reboot your pc OR install the update and turn off/reboot. That way, when you feel like it, you can install the update without having to change these policies back to original.
for the folder previews what you can do is download the latest dev channel of windows 11 as it comes with the folder previews and some other features like drag and drop to taskbar, new task manager with dark mode, etc. For the clock on the second monitor you can download T-Clock from github and it will work great.

It's great if it's not broke don't fix it scenario, but available to change at will if needed.
I highly recommend against doing that. Breaking Windows update is really bad. You will not receive any security updates if you do that. A better way is to just set your Ethernet or WiFi connection as a metered connection. By doing that Windows update will only install important updates to save bandwidth.
@@CyberCPU I agree that stopping WIndows update is bad "IF" you need updates because of something going wrong. However I have in the past turned it off because of updates I didn't need nor want. Example being at times when windows would send updates that patch work arounds for settings we enjoy, or stupid updates that really offered no features or security patches and slowed windows down. As I said if it's not broke, dont fix it. Than if needed turn it back on and download updates if needed. It really lets you have control of when to update and stop windows from rebooting your system for updates that could impact performance, take a feature away you dont want, etc while you are busy. It takes seconds to turn on or off.
@@rmt74358 but as soon as a security update comes out you can't enable Windows update just to download one update and then turn it off again. It will download everything available. A much safer and more efficient way to do that is simply using the metered connection method. I've helped customers who had systems that had the Windows update service disabled that hadn't ran update in years. It's because some technician turned it off years prior and it simply stayed off because the customer had no idea what that even was. These systems were running in early unsupported build of Windows 10 and where wildly out of support. In these cases I wasn't just dealing with an out-of-date system. I was also dealing with a heavily infected system.
@@CyberCPU Because we know any and all updates are inevitable. Turning updates off is an easy way to prevent problems with reboots or updates when you don't want them. It does tend to be a pain. True you can prevent them for so long if you need, but if I'm not using Microsoft apps than why worry. Turn it off or on at your leisure. Makes sense to me.

@6:40 "Always On Top" Anyone know why this is available only in specific applications that have it built in? I would like to be able to tag any window of my choice for being "Always On Top". For example, with a keyboard-mouse combination, or adding "Always On Top" as a menu option for all windows. Also, I would like to be able to click on a window and push it to the back. Normally, if you click on a window, it brings it to the top of whatever windows you have on your screen. I want the option to do the reverse. The closest thing is to minimize the window. But that is not what I am seeking. Also, there are settings that you can change that will allow you to use your mouse's pointer as the determinant of which window has the focus. Have you ever wanted to type something into a window, but did not want to click on that window to bring it to the front? Well, you can do that. There are settings that, once put in place, will allow you to hover your mouse over any part of a window, and then if you type anything, it will go into that window. Once you work that way, you will wonder how you got along without it. Most Linux distributions make it simple use the "hover mouse to focus" option. Whereas, Windows makes it somewhat complicated to set this up, which includes using regedit, where a mistake can make things very bad very quickly. Another great video, by the way. Cheers!

it is actually quite infuriating that always on top isn't the default for task manager in win 10. I remember when I was testing 10 I had a game freeze and wanted to kill it via taskmaster but I couldn't get to it.
All that high performance does is maintain a constant unwanted high voltage to your CPU causing unnecessary heat. Balanced is the way to go, Idle temps and voltage stay low when your taking a break. Basically balanced adjusts the power to the CPU as is required for the task. Never run high performance mode unless you are competing for the best benchmark result. Degrades your processer for no reason. And the heat at idle is ridiculous.

I think the only new thing for me was the scrollbar, which honestly I don't use. I just use the mouse wheel. But, still, interesting. The rest was something I had already done. Still, very nice tips for less tech-savvy users.
I found that in a fresh Windows 11 install as of today and under "System>Display>Advanced display", there is an option to "Choose a refresh rate"; since I am using 4K HD TV as a monitor, I picked "50 Hz", but I wonder if I should have picked "50 Hz (Interlaced)" instead. Does anyone know? Could someone explain? Thank you for all your videos about Windows OS.
since an update last week my Bluetooth won't connect to a gamepad. It will see it ask to add then turns itself off. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.
thank you. learned something here
Great, but many of the changes are already on my Ten - I have “classic start menu” running - makes Ten look and behave like W Seven!
Can you point me in the right direction?
I have a Ryzen 7 3800x cpu
Asus RoG B500-f mb
I updated the mb bios to the latest,
TPM 2.0 is enabled
Secure boot is enabled,
but I still get the "your machine don't meet the minimum requirements" for W11.
If your system is still used an MBR partition you have to convert it to UEFI. I did a video on it.
ruclips.net/video/F6Gu5Fe_cQE/видео.html
@@CyberCPU It's actually already in GPT. Windows UEFI mode is enabled in Bios, so is TCG_2 under TPM 2.0 UEFI Spec Version. Erase fTPM NV for factory reset is enabled also. I'm not totally sure what that means.
@@ForYeshua1 When you run the PC Health Check what's the exact reason it won't let you upgrade?
i do all these tips on new installs and builds as standard plus many more.
I actually know'd of the bonus tip ! Still a useful video !
Is there a way to do column view like Finder on Mac?
@6:40 "Always On Top"
Anyone know why this is available only in specific applications that have it built in?
Cheers!
Hey! How do you fix the CLR 8000405 error? I’ve tried the .NET framework repair, tried using programs as the admin, uninstalling and reinstalling and the one program still gives me this error.
Hey Rich! This is something unrelated, whenever I play any game in fullscreen like GTA 5, my screen’s brightness goes very low, I hv an HP omen 15. Pls help😅
@CyberCPU Tech, why add the undo/redo buttons when a right click can bring up the undo delete/redo delete function?🤨
It's customizable so you can add or take away anything you want.
@@CyberCPU but that's adding more buttons when you already have the function built into the right click menu. if this was the only way to get the function, it would be a game changer but that's just adding more when less is needed.
@@rodogg88 That's what makes the fact that it's customizable nice. Different people can tailor it to better fit their needs. You can add or remove anything you want from it.
Oi mate, you should check out ReviOS, a custom windows ISO with a windows 10 and 11 version, optimized for gamers/powerusers. i've been using it and it's boot time is madness.
Good tips.
handy tips . i dont play games am i better with game mode off? excellent that scrollbar drives me mad Thanks. waw what a difference i can hit that scrollbar everytime, nice one
I can't believe the scrollbar trick I haven't found until 2024 🤯

it is actually quite infuriating that always on top isn't the default for task manager in win 10. I remember when I was testing 10 I had a game freeze and wanted to kill it via taskmaster but I couldn't get to it.
Thank you
I'm a DJ and I always pause updates before a wedding.
Please make another video on this topic in 2024 for Windows 11
All that high performance does is maintain a constant unwanted high voltage to your CPU causing unnecessary heat.
Balanced is the way to go, Idle temps and voltage stay low when your taking a break. Basically balanced adjusts the power to the CPU as is required for the task. Never run high performance mode unless you are competing for the best benchmark result. Degrades your processer for no reason. And the heat at idle is ridiculous.
The CPU still throttles down in high performance power mode.
@@CyberCPU I noticed that on all my bulids it keeps the CPU at the max frequency (almost forever) as well as high voltage limits. It appears to disable or minimize the speedstep feature on Intel CPUs - I personally never use it. There is no point to it.
@@tomr3319 I only have one modern Intel CPU and it's a Mini PC that's still in the box. I'll have to check it out. I believe it's a 12th gen. On all my Ryzen CPUs, they throttle down just like they're supposed to. Might be an Intel issue.
Some of these have been well known for years for even basic users....
Has anyone fixed the task bar problems yet?
I'm a power user, BTW its more easy on win11 😀
If you have your Android phone connected with the Your Phone App, Windows will show phone notifications there
6:41 wow this always annoyed me thanks man
We need part 3 🙏🏻🙏🏻
That's true. I could do a part 3. I probably will at some point.
@@CyberCPU thanks a lot ❤️❤️
Your thumb nail showing 'two' also flipped off everyone in the UK... hehe
Really? Sorry, I was unaware of that. It's kind of funny though how hand gestures in different cultures mean different things.
Thanks for the 'god mode' and the 'keep scroll bars' - most of the others I had done long ago.
I need to go back to the REGEDIT you did about ending the 'search' always going to the internet, when all I want to search is MY COMPUTER!!! Thanks.
Can you please show us a legit way to stop windows' real time scanning in windows security permanently. After using windows 10 for quite an extensive time i can surely tell it really takes up too much of resources and makes pc slower dramatically.
The only ways I know of would be to disable the Windows defender service or install another antivirus. However, I don't recommend ether. It does use resources but it's no worse then other AV programs and in most cases it's far better then most.
@@CyberCPU thanks for the help mate...i have seen some vids tweaking with the registry but never have been really fond of altering core system settings. Guess rather updating the hardware should over come the problem with the speed.
Dude! You can turn off 99% of notifications by going to System Settings/Focus Assist and select Alarms Only. I can't believe you didn't know that. LOL :P
Best advice for any win 11 bad situation:::::::::::: simply stick with win 10
how can i download movies in windows 10 please
get a netflix subscription, then download the movie you want.
ctrl+z is undo, ctrl+shift+z is redo. I'm a key board junkie!
Why are you showing all these running Windows 10 when its for Windows 11?
delayed optional/feutures updates for 365 days trough regedit ;p
Give us something new gaming setting
Who uses a mouse without a scroll wheel? I never use scroll bars
Guys, please don't listen to this guy. Keep Game Mode On. In the past, this setting used to hurt your performance, but now, this setting enhances your performance, So keep it ON.
He clearly said to leave Game Mode ON if your system needs "all the help it can get". In other words it depends on what you want from your PC and what spec it is.
The ironic part is that's the only setting that I actually told people not to listen to me about. I told people to test it and see which setting works best for their system. I even linked to a video on how to test it. 🤷♂️
Rich, the tags you point to aren't there.
Thanks. I'll fix it in a little bit.
