- This week, in the inaugural episode of royal fashion looks of the week, Princess Catherine (aka Kate Middleton) stuns in a vintage Chanel double breasted jacket and while on a state tour of Sweden, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands stuns in the Stuart Tiara.
These are just some of the best royal looks of the week, but who made the worst list? Is it Princess Sofia of Sweden in an ill-conceived sparkly number and or Crown Princess Victoria in a somewhat loud purple print dress and bright green shoes?
In this video, we will check out all of the best and worst royal looks of the week.

Maxima is fabulous didn’t like the deconstructed dress w puffy sleeves. Looks messy. Like something from the eighties. However Victorias purple dress was to die and I don’t mind the 1980s flair on her shoulder. Shows my age. Eighties fashion still makes me happy

When I saw Queen Maxima in the one shoulder number , I literally gasped! Its so gorgeous! The color , the fabric ,the drape fabulous. Its so exciting when one sees a gown with wonderful design. The design gods aligned for this one for certain.

Queen Maxima in the one shoulder drape and tiara. She’s a beautiful woman and this ensemble really made her look so regal, sophisticated but yet soft and feminine. Catherine does look beautiful in the vintage jacket but she always looks so put together.

I actually liked the green dress on Princess Sophia. I just agree it should have been a bit shorter. Carl is even standing on it in the picture. Also think her blue sparkily dress would have been amazing if the arms had been fitted, We NEED more tiara moments!!! Love them and the history behind them.

Congratulations on the successful launch of your new channel! Love seeing glamorous aspirational fashion on royals as opposed to hum drum saggy looks on celebrities and/or Instagram bores! I have always loved clothes and long for the days when people put a little more effort into their fashion choices. Nice to see a channel that doesn’t do sweats and fast fashion.
About the Swedish royal house, they are indeed descending from Maréchal Bernadotte, who was one of Napoléon Bonaparte's maréchaux, and was chosen as King of Sweden by the Swedes themselves. And the name is pronounced Bernadotte, sounding like "dot". Fun fact, Bernadotte married Désirée Clary, who had previously been engaged to Napoléon Bonaparte, before he met Joséphine de Beauharnais. So instead of becoming what would be a temporary Empress of France, she became Queen of Sweden and her descendants are still on the Swedish throne.
I read the fictional book, DESIREE, inspired by these events back 50 years ago.
It was such a good story.
Jean Baptiste Bernadotte. In Norway we have always pronounced it as with the "dot" at the end as you say.

Queen Consort Camilla’s look seems similar to what I wear to bed, to stay warm in the dead of the midwestern winters. It doesn’t look like an outfit that should be out and about.

This channel is awesome, I absolutely love it! 💖 My favorite was Catherine's vintage jacket, and probably the purple, off the shoulder gown (but I would have removed the shoulder flower)! It's wonderful to see these other Royals featured, we don't often get opportunies to see these lovely ladies sporting their stunning tiaras and gorgeous gowns. I agreed with you all down the line, there were some tragic fails there (ooof)! 🤦 I'm a huge fan of resurrecting vintage clothing, for so many reasons! It's a wonderful trend I wish we would see more often. Can you actually walk in those green shoes? I wear heels every day, but I can't do the severely pointed toes, no matter how stylish they look! 😂 Can't wait for more, you're content is outstanding! Love ya Honey! 💖

The crazy thing is that royals across the spectrum wear those heels! They're by far the favorite brand of royals! Agree , Sophies blue dress was see- trough so when se walked you could see her legs also. Maxima,s first dress had way to much going on from the waist down, didn’t flatter her.

Crown Princess Mary always looks so chic. This repeat green suit looks fantatsic on her. A nice classic cut. She looks very professional, put together and appropriate for her events. Plus those green studded shoes add that nice bit of edge.

I love the royal fashion you show! The Royal Correspondent also talks about royalties from non European countries. Would be nice if you featured them as well but thoroughly understand if you're not too informed about them. You have such a great knowledge of European royalty it's amazing and so nice to listen to.

I'm franco-italian. Bernadotte is pronounced with the "T" in the end, because there's an "E" after it ;-) Also, Casiraghi is pronounced"Ka-zi-ra-ghi" (a Z sound like in "zombie", a strong R and a G like in "gate").

Maxima: Beige dress: I think the fabric is gorgeous and the colour, which also suits her, but there is a lot going on with the design and so much fabric involved. As Mies van de Rohe would say, "Less Is More".

She has address it. She puts it in the title of the video only, because of the algorithm. The video will not do as well. When you are trying to make a new channel you need to put in the search terms or RUclips will not put the video out to anyone and that can make or break all the work she put into the video. That is the culture of the media at large and a new RUclips channel can’t change that.

In this vid commentary, Brittany uses her by proper name [2:56, 10:05]. Hi Brittany- loving this review of the Royal looks of the week- I totally agree with everything you've said! I think sometimes we wear too much material and we're engulfed in fabric. I'm not a big fan of Sophia in general- she also needs to do something with that hair; Princess Katherine never 'misses' in fashion. A little secret I do with all my high heels- I wear a padded insert for the ball of the foot that just gets taped into the shoe- it gives me hours more of standing/walking time😉🤣🤣🤣
I've been meaning to invest in those inserts a bit! I have a lot of heels, but I always have a set of flats to change into, which I probably do more than I should! Thanks for watching!!

It is really comforting during this time when people are enduring floods, droughts, starvation etc. etc. that these people are able to wear expensive clothing and fly around from one occasion to another and not worry about where their next meal is coming from! According to the rules of French pronunciation, the royal house of Bernadotte is properly Berna-dot. We know this because there are two Ts at the end, followed by an e. Berna-dough would have only one T at the end. Hope this helps in the future. I enjoy your videos and commentary.

I really love that when Catherine wears jackets, she always has them fitted at the waist, so they accentuate her great figure. They always fit so well.

Maxima hands down! The tiara was the icing on the cake. In a casual note Crown Princess Mary and Princess Catherine. I have rarely seen either one of them in something I didn't like. I hope we see more of CP Mary. I have been following her and her family for years. If Meghan had wanted to be successful in the royal family she should have looked at Mary. She still wouldn't have been Queen but she could have been very successful.
Completely agree with all of your picks! Especially Maxima's pink dress. She wore it before on a visit to India, and it's long been my favorite dress of hers. Jan made the dress out of material that Maxima purchased on a previous trip to Jaipur in 2007, when she was still a princess. I can't imagine what that material cost, but it was WELL worth it!

I really like what you’re doing with the royal fashions. My favorite was Catherine’s dark blue jacket with the vintage look. I’m in total agreement with you on the least favorites. I would enjoy seeing some of the close up details of the jewelry and/or clothing if that’s possible.
I loved Queen Maxima in the pink dress with the Stuart tiara. I also liked Catherine in the vintage Chanel and black trousers. Queen Camilla really needs to up her game. That horrendous zip up monstrosity looked like something you’d throw on if you’re not feeling great and having a pyjama day. I’m loving the fashion channel Brittany, Thank you for all the hard work you put into your channels. I’m a jewellery and gemstone collector as and when I can afford it. I’ve been known to save up birthday and Christmas money for a few years running just to buy one piece. I can’t think of any place I’d rather be than in tiara heaven. 👸🏻

My favourite look of the week is Catherine's vintage Chanel- love the blue and it is so timeless in style. I think you are so spot on as well with Crown Princess Victoria's hair. I have seen her hair down for her engagement and anniversary photos and she looks stunning- so much younger! I understand the convenience of wearing it pulled back but as she is still young I feel that there is plenty of time to embrace the pulled back look as she ages. Maybe she could adopt what Catherine and Princess Mary do- wear their hair up for evening events with tiaras and jewels but down for daytime.

Maxima's arrival dress was just such an unsuccessful look for her and i wish she would stop wearing those thick leather gloves that look like heavy machine operator gloves. Her pink sari inspired gown with the Stuart tiara was exquisite. Also noticed that Camilla seems to prefer dresses with obvious front zippers. Perhaps she doesn't utilize a dresser.
