Rare to find wonderful quality videos on e61's on youtube! Love the channel and love the build, I own a e61 myself and you were the one who inspired me to run the same suspension keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Sweet. Keep up with the good work. Lets keep this beautiful cars on the road as long as possible. M bumper really brings out more beauty on this beautiful car. E60 has a timeless design IMO
Thank you so much for making this video. I will be doing thus same bumper upgrade on my 09 528i sedan in the future. Glad to have a reference video for installation and possible problems/challenges during the process. 👍
Excellent video series! Your wagon looks fantastic! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Awesome. I.want to do the same conversion on my 545i. Thx for your honesty! Love n hate relationships with BMW more as they get older.
Very detailed video! great work and amazing look!
Great video. I love seeing what other BMW enthusiasts like yourself are doing to there cars. I had an E60 545 but now I have an E61 550. Thanks for your video!
Wow! 550i version is a rare car!
Thank you for your comment!
You may be able to adjust your hood gap by twisting the attachment points on either side. I just learned of this last year.
Great video, thanks for all information 🙂
Greetings from Sweden 🙂
Used to have one just like this! I miss it.
Very good explained and the car looks fantastic, great job
Thank you! 👍
Man this bumper looks SO good. Have an e60 530i in Oxford green. If I can find a body shop willing to paint one of these in that color, think I need to pull the trigger…
Very informative, thx for this.
I'm going through this conversion now! I got in a wreck on the front end so perfect excuse to switch to the mtech bumper. ECS Tuning has a kit that includes all the needed parts and lets you reuse the pdc sensors. It is an aftermarket replica but i've already received it and it looks/feels great. I'll have it going to paint in the next couple of weeks. Yours came out awesoem! Great video.
That’s awesome that you got that ECS kit! I was thinking about it, but decided to go with OEM thing. The car looks totally different with M style body kit.
Very nice and detailed video, also car looks great!
Thank you
I put a big scuff in my front bumper and wanted to make the same switch to the M style bumper. Lucky I traded the car off with the scratch because I had no idea there were that different. Nice work as usual!
Thank you sir!
Looks very good.
Wery nice work! It's a shame that u have so few views. Keep it up :D
Appreciate your feedback!
👍🏻great vid
Thank you!
Great video and beautiful enhancement! May I ask - what is the brand of your roof cross-bars? They look amazing.
The OEM BMW. I ordered them through a local BMW dealer.
Have you done an FMIC performance upgrade yet? I just found your channel as I'm beginning an e61 build right now. I did remedial maintenance now and ramping up performance mods and cosmetics last. I figured the front bumper off is a great time to do the FMIC though as I know there's some trimming required to get a 7.5" stepped VRSF in there.
Yes, I got a bigger intercooler installed. I went with a generic intercooler, it is also a stepped model. Did light trimming for fitment. I decided against VRSF because their downpipes were such a pain to install:(
The one I got is a little bit cheaper than VRSF.
Great video! Great looking car. Im about to install a new m style bumper on my e61 as well because the last one got ripped off of the car.. Hope it wont be too much of a pain..
Also, the mounts on the right side for the hook thing on the bumper is gone, do you know if its possible to replace that and how hard it would be? 😊
Thank you for your comment.
That tow hook cover bracket is part of the inner insert on OEM M style bumper. I don’t think it’s too hard to fix, depends how it’s broken.
In my case. If I would know how far this conversion goes (money wise) I would go with replica. Too many parts to replace:)
nice work and looks perfect... can you tell me what kind of angel eyes lights you use and whats your vosen wheels size ?
Thank you!
My wheels are 19” with tires 225/35/19 front, and 255/30/19 rear. I use wheel spacers to fit them. If I remember correctly 15mm front and 20mm rear. Otherwise they rub.
Angel eyes I'm using is generic eBay bulbs. www.ebay.com/itm/Mega-White-BMW-H8-LED-Angel-Eyes-Ring-Marker-Light-Bulb-For-1-3-5-X-Series-07-12-/172160419458?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
Great video and great work mate 👍 can you send me a link where i can buy angel eye bulbs (LEDs) they look bright? 🙂
The ones I bought are no longer available. You can search eBay and get them, make sure you get the ones compatible with your headlights.
Great job 👍 how do you get your inner halo headlights so bright is it a special bulbs
Thank you! Yes, these are aftermarket lights. Check the description for the link to eBay, they are very affordable and work great. Also no error messages.
Thanks for making this video! I’m doing the conversion as well on my e61.
Only one question. With the 3 wire pdc harness how did you figure out which wire connected to the main harness? Volt meter? Trial and error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I matched the first one by playing around with the wiring, after that it was just connecting everything.
@@EliteBimmers thanks!
I love your work really.. and explanations, thank you..
and I need some help, my car is 2005 LCI e61( with lots of problems) I watching all your videos to repair it, specially rear tailgate things and so on….
My air suspensions not working, ( car stay low down 🤦♂️)
Not opening with remote,
Total milage not showing
Hand brake light keep on
Washer not working for windshield but working for headlights,
Airbags light on
😂 crazy ..
Anyway..
urgently I need to fix urgently rear suspension
And my front bumper is broken I’m thinking of buying a M bumper but I don’t know how the ventilation for the brakes gonna match I was looking at your video that you have some pieces you bought, are they gonna match with mine? On the mudguard? 🤔
Hello, thank you for your comment…
Sorry to hear about your issues.
Usually with this amount of problems you might want to start with a battery test. These cars are super sensitive to weak batteries.
As to the M-style bumper, yes, you need a different air channel and mudguard, channels need to be M-style specific, as to mudguard I trimmed mine and it worked.
@@EliteBimmers thanks for showing up,, thanks for the advice 🙏👍👍
Great vid man ! Where did you purchase this exact one ? I can’t find any with the holes for the censors
I bought this bumper on eBay. I think seller name is “Bumper City”.
Is that White E70 yours too. I’m also looking at E60/E61 to complement my White E70 LCI. Think they would look good together. Tbh I would buy an msport unless I found se will be all the toys . Sounds like too much hassle to buy light and pdc switches as well and then having to cut bumper to fit. I’d probably cock it up knowing my skills.
Yes, it was ours. We sold it a couple of months ago.
Awesome set-up on the bumper and the wheels looks good to. Did u lower the car? What wheel/tire spec u have on?
Thank you for your comment!
My car is on ISC Coilovers. It is lowered, I am not sure now what is the difference between stock and current height, but if I am not careful I can damage lower part of the bumper. My wheels are Vossen CVT, 19” current tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear. For daily driving these tires are a little stiff, I think I will go 225/50 and 255/35 in the future.
@@EliteBimmers Nice, thank you.
Bro great job, I have a question. I have a 2008 528i lci, I bought an aftermarket m tech bumper, turns out I need to change the rebar from lci to pre lci, as well as the 2 bumper brackets as per the BMW parts catalog
I only had to buy several parts for the rear bumper. These ones: Mount, bumper rear left 51127897195
Mount, bumper rear right 51127897196
Guide, Battery Cover 51127896619
EliteBimmers thanks man. What about the front bumper, did you have to do anything with the front rebar?
Hi, did you have to change bumper absorbers? (those foamy things behing the bumper)
I'm going through required items and it is said that I'll need those also. Thank you for your response in advance!
Great series by the way. Keep it up!
Hello! Thank you for your comment! Yes, foam things needed to be trimmed, not sure if the M sport package had different under the bumper parts. But I had to shave mine.
Hello ,
Im from Europe ,Croatia. Can you tell me what part did you needed to shave and how much? Any link? Tnx :)

Have u done any coding to your angel eyes? I can't seem to make both of mine light up like yours. The outer ring just doesn't light up :/
Hello! I didn’t code mine. Switched bulbs and it worked.
@UCOwdg_rdIVOv-_7JUcDL1Ow Is that an OEM BMW bumper or Unmitza? Do you have a rough total for the project? I have an 08 and want to do the front/rear/side skirt to M bumpers like yours.
As of right now, I got:
OEM M tech front bumper $330 (needed a LOT of work and painting)
M5 side skirts (I got them as a package deal, I would say they cost me around $100-120)
The rear bumper I ordered from Umnitza I don't remember the total price out of my head but it was more than $400.
Everything needed to be painted. Prices for that depend on the shop, time, and location. I would say I “invested” around $2k into M look. Please don't tell my wife lol 😆
You did t have to change the bumper carrier? That was a factory bumper cover right. The research that I have done says you have to change the bumper carrier for factory swap but I see you used the same one from the non sport.
Yes, I reused mine. To make a 100% M conversion it requires a lot more parts.
Where did you find the sensors for the m bumper ? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!
Here’s the link to eBay listing: www.ebay.com/itm/282381313231 but they need to be painted. If you use part number you can find several sellers who sell painted ones.
Looks slick, what do you use for polish/wax detailing?
Thank you for your comment! As of now I use Mothers Synthetic Wax. Just because it’s available at almost any store.
I have E60 m sport LCI the same colour, can't get the shine like yours
Thanks! I use it for couple of years now, the only downside is I’m afraid to use a buffer machine and use my hands. Takes a while :)
ГАРНА!
did you cut the original pdc and fog light harness and soldered the new connectors on?
Yes, that’s correct
@@EliteBimmers Thank you for your response sorry I have a few questions below, I will be doing this too so excited...
Did you need to trim the foam crash structure? I read online is may be required or removed entirely for good fitment or replace with msport one.
did you need to buy msport bumper carriers some people needed to change them? I checked realoem and its the same part number for me (base Pre-lci going to pre-lci msport)
If you got aftermarket fog light holders could your existing bulbs just fit in?
16:52 I think BMW advises drill a new 8mm hole 100mm to the right of the bottom nut for additional support
What is the rim width and J? Do you use spacers?
Yes, with those I used spacers. 12mm front and 20mm rear. The wheels are Vossen CVT, 19” tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear.
Usually Americans have bad taste in car mods but yours looks really nice. ;)
How did u switch the fog light connectors?
Just connected new ones to the old wiring harness.
Hey i have a BMW 2008 535i and im looking for a m5 bumper. Can you provide me a link of the exact order you did please?
Hello! I used this seller on eBay: www.ebay.com/usr/bumpercity?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754
At this time they do not have a M style bumper for 535.
You can check this listing, it is the same style, with PDC sensors bumper:
www.ebay.com/itm/2006-2007-2008-2009-2010-BMW-M5-E60-OEM-Genuine-Front-Bumper-Cover-Black/383621735825?hash=item5951a32591:g:zi4AAOSwBh5fBLYv
I paid a little bit less, but mine had few blemishes.
@@EliteBimmers I’m having such a hard time figuring out if I can purchase one for my 530i and nobody has helped:(
Are you located in the United States?
You skipped the PDC connection not sure what happened there did you have to rewire the harness or they end up being plug and play ? Nice work otherwise
Thank you for your comment!
Yes, it needed to be rewired. Totally different plug on the M sport package.
@@EliteBimmers Mate can u elaborate on how to rewire ? Thanks a lot!
@@fkfakemusic3172 It is not hard... what you have to do is follow the color or number pattern on the connectors. At least that's what I did...
do you have a part number for the pdc sensor holders? are the holders different for the m sport? when i search i cant find them specifically for the m sport bumper.
I could not find PDC holders' part numbers too, I think they come together with the bumper. And, yes, for M sport bumpers they are different, almost twice the size.
I know it's a pain to find those.
@@EliteBimmers yes I’m having a hard time. My bumper came with one missing. I can find the set for the regular bumper but not m sport. I’m going to check bmw.
Are you in the US? I have one, big PDC holder for M bumper, I thought you need all four.
View my photos at: www.lifeofpixel.net/PDC
@@EliteBimmers yes I’m in the US. Only need one
Link for the fog lights? And also would fog lights from fcp work? I have the same lights as u
They need a little bit of adjustment.

But I think they price is worth it :)
@@EliteBimmers I have a 2008 and they are sold out😔
Hmm... looks like no one else has yellow fog lights for M style bumpers. Sorry about that. Never thought it would be sold out.
@@EliteBimmers would fog lights from fcp euro work?
Can you share a link? I’ll look.
What size wheels do you have ?
225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear.
Who painted your bumper
He has a body shop in Kelso, WA. If you need a number I can message you somewhere else, like PM on Instagram or Facebook.
Where did you order everything from
Hello!
The front bumper I got from eBay. The seller name is "Bumper City", I saw they have a lot of bumpers for different cars. Fog lights are also from eBay, search for "M style fog lights for e60", OEM parts are expensive, I went with cheap aftermarket fogs. Parking sensors eBay Germany, for some reason I could not find a US seller. I can share the links to these sellers, I think they still sell them.
Other stuff I got from www.ecstuning.com/
FCP euro has same prices and identical inventory, you can check them as well.
EliteBimmers awesome can you share the links
Is a 19 inch?
Yes, wheels are 19”.
Its a pain in the #@ss if you swap with oem M bumper! Much easier if you go for a M-style bumper!!
:) agree with you 100%
The gap between your new bumper and the hood is too wide compared to my e61 m packaged wagon , sorry to nit pick looks much better than standard bumper
Thank you and I really appreciate your feedback! Will work on adjusting it!
whre did you get this from??
eBay, sometimes they pop up there.
do you need to change the m fenders ?
@@DLOWBIMMERSNo.
