I think showing the process on youtube can help BIG! Even if people don't catch on now. They can see a log of your recorded progress from, your earliest posted progress to current status! It's always worth having the videos there and they'll gain traction overall.
Thank you SirAkivar for your kind words! I believe you're 100% right. This video is a documentation of what's been done and it's going to gain value if we proceed with the project!
Yep, and the current player count dropped from 24k day one, to less than 6k right now. At peak playercount yesterday it hit 7.5k So in less than 2 weeks it lost more than 70% of its players. Not looking good unless some serious content gets dropped soon. And there's no 'No Man's Sky redemption arc' for this game, Gower had 2 decades of learning from RS and he's making the same mistakes again. If RS Classic, The Original devious mud dropped today, it would not make it far in todays gaming standard. OSRS was brought back for nostalgia and is kept alive from constant good updates and player input through polls. I don't see how RS classic could survive these days with dragon med helm being BiS and needing to sleep at a bed when you run out of energy as a bot prevention tool.
@@Wibbly-Wobbly dont forget osrs first half year was started the same way and few mod could change that when re-released phat and few other things. Brighter shores still in eaely acces and made fast and good updates (watch j1mmy video from brighter shores). Its def have the chance, but its risky. Runescape was unique when started and there was no meta. Im curious if brighter shores will survive.
@@maxkiss636 I saw J1mmys video and I agreed with most of what he said. They are riding the hype of having the Gower name attached to it, without that, the game wouldn't have had even 5k players on beta release. I played RS all the way from Devious Mud, into RS's evolution into RS Classic and the launch of RS2, all the way to EOC (Quit at EOC like everyone else), then played OSRS when it came out and infernal maxed my character there. I'm quite familiar with every evolution runescape has had throughout my 20 years of playing it. I can't see Brighter Shores having the same effect on people in its current state
@@Wibbly-Wobbly i totally understood that. But i think this game can be a good game, but no chance for beating runescape. Its similar in they own way, but runescape is so much bigger now (anyway it can be played on the side). I really hate that there is classes in the game unlike in runescape. i always loved the idea i made 1 character and its everything the game can offer. There is some other things i'd change, but its not my game. But sadly or not thats true, Gowers name make this game what is it currently.
I've never played RS classic or RS in general but this seems a lot like wanting to make brighter shores 🤔 which ironically is by the same creator as RS
Heh there's definitely similarities. I don't really want to build a new Runescape, but more of an isolated Dueling game in the style of old Runescape :D
@HallofAmeces ah I guess I misunderstood the goal of the video then 😅, still it's great to see people still be so passionate about classics and simpler times!
I had a blast making this video! I hope you love it.
We continue the development journey every workday live on www.twitch.tv/ameces
I will watch your progress with great interest...
Why do I get an ominous feeling out of this? Haha, regardless, I'm happy to hear!

This is awesome! Could you make the game design document publicly available? I would like to see it for help on how to make my own game.
Come say hi on stream/Discord and I'll gladly share it. I don't feel good about posting it here, however!

Next project you should try the luanti engine. It's free and new plus it uses lua as the name would suggest
