i loved the ending...it was a film about the journey not the destination..which i like that concept like movies dont have to have endings could be a continuation of something to come ,like lets say another movie LOL
Honestly, with zero irony, this song has cured my depression. It makes you feel better, calms you down and makes you feel optimistic. I feel it coming by the Weeknd has a similar effect
Both songs have the feeling that it’s the last song you ever need to hear....makes you remember the past, experience the moment, and exite for the future
Ive been suffering from depression for years. Im glad you find joy in this scene. Keep it going man! Times are tough, but we have to enjoy the good times with our loved ones!!!
No joke - I play this every morning at work. It keeps me loose and care free in a very demanding job. Hands down the best song/dance combo in cinematic history
@@Garcelle1987 when you really think about it though, he wasn't, the young programmer was the villain unknowingly, had he have told him the truth that he was just as much part of the test as the Android woman, then it would've ruined the whole premise of the test.
I laughed so much with this scene, I always want to rewind and play it back again. The way Kyoko becomes a natural dancer. And Nathan "I'm gonna tear up the fckn dance floor, check it out" lmao
+TokyoBlue If I was the one talking about Oscar Isaac: "I have a crush on Oscar Isaac. The man is such a great actor... He can sing, dance... AND HE'S SO FUCKING HOT, I WANT TO CARRY HIS BABYS. **drooling** LOOK AT HIS ABS, DUDE. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG SO HOT **DEAD ON THE FLOOR**"
I think this is an amazing scene and all, and Isaac does a great job. But the first time I saw it, I couldn't take my eyes off the Kyoko (the girl). My god. The way she moves. Its enchanting.
Tom Smith - it's called ectomorphic. having long limbs and long torso and long neck. The way you feel about her through the screen, that's how I feel about tall women in real life. Ever since I was with a tall woman, I never dated short in my life again. 5'9" and up! Tall and slim baby!
Everything about this....when I watched the film this scene stood out just because how different it was from the rest of the film. It was still kind of weird, but was kind of fun. Then I realized just how awesome it was in regards to the dancing. And now I also watch/listen to this every day because the song is also equally as fantastic.
It was a very good non sequitur indeed, it really made me connect with Nathan, at the time i was drinking wine, enjoying every second of the movie, and then bam! this, lol i was also dating an Asian girl back then and i'm kinda similar to Nathan (phisically and the way he thinks) so i became obsesed with the movie for like a week lol, now is just nostalgia and a broken heart, the wine's still here though.
I used to own this as a 12inch vinyl. As a guy who DJ'd occasional discos back in the day - I always thought it sounded tame. Very rarely played it, and never got why it became a hit, years later. Yet this video, looping a great film moment, an actor who has the FUNK... is just sublime. Could watch this for hours.
This was a great movie. It had an original plot that was presented by using a single setting, only four characters(with one of them being silent, so she only acted with facial expressions and body language) and it did not rely like so many movies do on special effects, redundant and exaggerated violence or filler meaningless banter dialogue. The ending was one for the history books. I hope to see all the actors involved in this production in future productions. This dance scene and the lead up to it was well done. Bravo!!!
Love this scene!!! ..and even more - I love this movie! I can't believe how many people I know, haven't heard of it. The few people I was able to convince, loved it. I bought a copy of it on BluRay. The last time I bought a movie on BluRay was Watchmen(another great movie) right after it was released. Shes a great dancer and also very pretty.
With this flawless rare-groove funk track the director absolutely NAILS it. It's an incredible scene--a playful moment with a psychopath that creates life only to abuse and torture it mercilessly. A powerful musical and cinematic moment indeed.
One day robots will rule the world. I just hope they let me keep jamming out to this after a hard day of slave labor. (EDIT: Thanks for the likes, these will please our overlords.)
He is a really good dancer because he's not faking it. Some dance scenes they try to convince us people who can't dance can dance. He pulls off both of these things being cool and good dancing. .
One of my favourite scenes in any film ever! Its so simple but so damn good! The music choice is fantastic for this scene! I didn't think the film was all that great overall but this scene was freaking amazing man!

I have to admit initially I thought the movie was moving kind of slow but then this scene came out of nowhere...and the odd placement of this scene was perfect. The dance, music and the dialog...like an intermission lol. I was actually hoping for another “out of nowhere scene” lol. Having Oscar Isaacs aka “Poe Dameron” was awesome and Sonoya Mizuno aka “Kyoko” is gorgeous.
I'm here just to tell a little a gentle story. It goes like this: I saw this movie randomly on the internet, without any expectations, so at the end of it I realized it was a really great movie... after a few months, when I was watching the "Oscars" and "ex-machina" won for best special effects I screamed like a little girl. I felt "ex machina" growing inside of me, I saw it as a baby, no one knew about it and at the moment they said "AND THE OSCAR GOES TO EX MACHINA" I felt like a proud father watching his son graduating. Cheers !
Two things I looked for after watching this movie, first one was this song that I found really good and the other was Jackson Pallock paintings and I still can't believe how someone that does those kinda "paintings" is considered an artist lol.
Great video, very alluring and addictive. I agree, best dance scene in a Science Fiction Movie, hands down. We have to give Oliver Cheatham more credit for creating a bad ass dance club song. If this doesn't make you get up and want to dance, then you are missing out. It's the song that's hot...the video is cool, not the best dancing, but in context with the movie, it's great. I love when movie directors insert obscure music into a scene which creates this byproduct of interests and obsession. People who may have never heard the song or heard of Oliver Cheatham or been to a club which plays this type of music find themselves enjoying it and even purchasing the song. Is the dog wagging the tail or is the tail wagging the dog? Is Oliver Cheatham the genius or is the movie director the genius? And then someone comes along and edits the original movie clip into this 7:33 minutes music video which is genius in itself. Art creating art creating art....
