In my opinion the back of this ride is waaaaaay better than the front.... but if we're talking a bout *any* other ride at Disneyland...you absolutely, positively have to ride in the front row

When I go on Splash Mountain, I like being in the front the most. My family usually puts me in the front. I like being in the front because you get the best view when you ride in the front.

When I was born in 1957 Disneyland was brand new. Since my dad's parents (my grandpa and grandma) lived about 5 miles away we kids were lucky. About once or twice a year we would visit my grandparents and always got to visit Disneyland! When my wife and I married in 1979 I found that her parents took her and her sister to Disneyland about once per year for her entire childhood. When our kids were old enough we took them to Disneyland at least once per year until they finished High School. Now that they are out of College and married they take THEIR kids (my Grandkids!) to Disneyland one per year. This is a very cool family tradition. As I write this comment my daughter and son in-law are AT Disney World/Epcot. Even at my age I still feel like a kid when I enter Disneyland. Thunder Mountain Railroad has been my kids and my favorite ride since it opened. Also, I remember the first time we 'flew' to Disneyland in 1967 and New Orleans Square had just opened. I was 10 years old and remember seeing Harry James playing with his Dixieland Band in the Brand New "New Orleans Square" just outside of Pirates of the Caribbean which was also Brand New. Disneyland has been a part of my Life from Birth to Retirement Age!

randy109 Ive always lived in Southern California so Disneyland has always been apart of my life. I rediscovered my love for the place, with a new appreciation for it as an adult back in 2014. 3 years later, i actually work there (in the Disneyland Hotel). Now I can come everyday before work!

Wow...lucky you :) I'm envious :) Disneyland is truly the best place on earth...And it isn't just for kids....Adults and even seniors can have an incredible time....especially since as you get older the appreciation for the place shifts towards the layout, all the fine details hidden everywhere within the park....There are also a lot of hidden gems throughout every part of the place....And it includes literally hidden gems....for one Walt had a intricately detailed master suite built which gave a birds eye incredible view from the suite overlooking the park...And nobody knows its there....The windows don't look like windows but fixtures on the building plus its high up and to get there the person has to take secret passageways where you don't have actual doors but false fronts and even what appears to just be a wall but it opens and leads to the stairs to get to the suite.... Everything in the suite is tied into the Disneyland themes, including the fact that when activated in the suite a small train comes out and music plays as the train makes its trip around the large suite...It unfortunately wasn't finished yet when Walt died but there was a finished blueprint with all the details he wanted.....And so even though he didn't get to see the finished suite, it was decided that Walt would have wanted it to be completed....And so the suite was finished completely ....The suite was built hidden above the park hidden away ....Walt decided on it because it would allow him to be in the park and admiring everything from a perfect spot, without his presence causing commotion.... It just like everything else about the park is intriquate and detailed to his vision....The hidden upper suite sits still overlooking the park, its fully furnished including drapes, bedding, carpet and everything else. Although it stays closed up other than people who do some housekeeping and maintenance....I was lucky enough to have seen a guided and detailed tour which was made and released some years ago. Disneyland hotel is great too. Somebody has enough things to stay busy for a week without leaving the hotel :) But the monorail was down for maintenance which lead from the hotel to the park last time I was there :) we asked for wake up calls since we had early bird passes and I was surprised because picking up the phone it was a different Disney character on the phone each time :) Disneyland....The greatest place on earth

Here's a fun fact; Big Thunder Mountain Railroad started off as an attraction that was to replace the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland at Disneyland in 1968. It was one of the first attractions proposed after Walt Disney's Death. That version was turned down in 1968 but was reconsidered later that year as an opening day attraction for Walt Disney World. As the start of construction loomed for the attraction at Walt Disney World in 1970 the attraction was postponed to financially accomodate several smaller attractions. The Disneyland version finally started to get built on January 2nd 1977.

This is coming from a person who’s terrified of most rollercoasters, this one was great. First time I was weary but the second time my hands where up the entire time. If your like me and your scouting for rollercoasters to ride before you visit the parks. I highly recommend this one. The stomach drops are extremely low and feel like driving down a hill. And the spirals feel great. Don’t sweat it. This rides great.

I just didn’t expect it to be so intense and fast, I remember it being just a normal ride with hills and turns and drops, but damn it was super intense for me. I guess it’s just because I’m not used to rides anymore.

We went on it 5 times total, because it was years ago when the wait times were always 5 minutes (Plus it was before the mine train was installed.) That day was a blast.

johnny tram The Magic Kingdom at WDW is more or less "inspired" by Disneyland. While it retains the same basic design, the Magic Kingdom is larger and the layouts of some of the lands differs somewhat. Some attractions are at one and not another. However this is a ride that is at both, however I believe the Magic Kingdom's track layout is a mirror image of BTM at Disneyland. There is also a "flooded town" stunt at MK that I don't think DL has.
Walt always envisioned "the Florida project" having the Magic Kingdom. However his plan for Epcot was radically different than what they eventually built. It was going to be a working city where people actually worked and lived where companies would be free to experiment with technological innovations. It would also have replied heavily on the monorail and people mover for transportation. Private cars would be banned on the surface, instead driving on underground roads and parking in underground structures.

Walter Elias Disney called it "The Florida project". He even said himself that Disney world was a replica of Disneyland but bigger and better, than just being 4 parks in one. Disney world is basically Disneyland, but better and bigger and divided into 4, those being: Magic kingdom, Epcot, Animal kingdom, Hollywood studios ( previously called MGM studios ).

I rode big thunder with my cousin and it was GREAT! The ride for me and my cousin pumped for the other coasters. Yet, I wasn’t fond of the shallow drops. I wish they had more deeper drops and not small baby ones. Overall, it was still a pretty good ride.
Can’t see why it’s not number 1 on the best Disney Land Rides in California!

I going to assume your watching this video because your going to Disneyland soon and your scared of rollercoasters and is worried....well, that was me. I was terrified because my mom would force me to ride this, but, I guaranteed you, that this ride is perfect. Now, I like rollercoasters more. Yes, there are sudden drops, but nothing huge like splash mountain. This ride is amazing and don’t be scared to ride it. I loved it so much, that I BEGGED my uncle to make time so we can go. I rode this ride at 11:30 pm😂. It’s so fun. Please just ride it! And this is coming from someone that HATES rollercoasters. Please do all of the big ones including Space Mountain and Matterhorn Bobleds. You’ll love it so much!!!
