I wish that the saxophone, and horns in general, could get used more in rock music. Completely different genre, but look at “Call Me the Breeze” by Lynyrd Skynyrd… love the horns in that song!!!
I remember when Prequelle came out. My friend and I were so excited for it. And this song came as a total suprise for us. We totally weren’t expecting a saxophone solo in a GHOST song and for Papa Emeritus Nihil to be playing it live!!
@@petera.michaelsen4657 It is just for the optics. To be very accurate: The whole sax part can't be played on a single sax. It needs atleast 2 different ones due to the range of notes
@@aidenpowell8124 it has nothing to do with skill to play a range of notes. A sax is not able to play all notes from C2-C5. and the sax is miasma plays a range of notes which are too wide for a single one. You need atleast a second sax in a different key
Excellent job. It’s really cool how the more fingers you have on the buttons, the lower the notes. I knew it works like that on woodwinds and brass from my school days, but it’s just a neat contrast with how strings work. I’m curious if the lack of the raspy, aggressive tone that you hear in the sax solo on the record isn’t replicated here because your sax just isn’t that type (it does sound lower and richer than the sax on the album) or because playing like that is harder than it sounds.
This solo made me search for my moms old saxophone. I want to take lessons to learn this solo. Is the solo difficult? I play guitsr so i have no clue what difficult is or not on sax.
You can find all the altissimo fingerings just by google but it's not so easy, in this range it's all about the embouchure and the proper technique rather than just the fingerings, playing long tones and overtones every day will help get you there. Good luck.
"If i were unwell, Could i do this?"
Of course!

I think the same, that's why i love doing rock covers, great song by the way!!

So i'm glad that you found it, thank you!
Always wondered about how this part would sound live (and not mimicked) during their concerts ❤
Thank you, it's a great solo that deserves to be played live🤘
What do you mean it’s not live? The saxo has a mic and all haha

@bastianbeivers7997 no it doesn't. you just need skills most people don't really learn

Thank you very much! It's sounds different because the original solo is played with a tenor sax, here i play an alto sax.

This solo made me search for my moms old saxophone. I want to take lessons to learn this solo. Is the solo difficult? I play guitsr so i have no clue what difficult is or not on sax.
Well, it's not easy at all for a beginner but since you already have a sax, you can practice a lot and maybe one day you will do it, good luck!
Nice My man!!
Did you write it down by any chance or did you do it by ear?

이런 게 가능하다니
I NEED the notes omg
the saxophone is the instrument made out of hell. adolphe sax went through near death experiences all his life just to invent saxophone
They should hire you to play it live instead of mimicking it
ahah that would be great!
not punchy enough breh
