They really don’t miss! I luuuuuuuv them. Andy smooth like a butterfly on this one! Choreo on point, groove, charm, looks... they got everything! Best thing out right now! And Bruno works great with Anderson. I don’t think that anyone would blend so well with a superstar as Bruno. Anderson is so talented though and he’s journey in the industry is admirable. He has been through some rough times and it’s wonderful what he has going for him with this project. It seems like both of them were destined to be together and I can only be glad to be a part of the generation to witness this amount of talent joining forces. Yessss Lawd!! We want it all!!

I so love this song but all of the songs by Silk Sonic. This is my favorite cd right now.. Silk Sonic is just showing off!!!!! There sound they left it all on the studio floor when they recorded this cd. I can see An Evening With Silk Sonic being the album of the year. I grew up in that 70's, and this song and entire cd reminds me so much of Brass Con Funk Shun, Earth, Wind, and Fire, the Ohio Players, Harold Melvin and the Blue Noles featuring Teddy Pendergrass, Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, The Dells, The Delfonics, The Temptations, The Spinners, The Barkay's, Bobby Womack and more. My Dad would of have love this cd,. I can see him smoking put the window while listening to this cd , but he is no longer with us. So, I dedicate An Evening With Silk Sonic to my Dad...❤

J5 are an influence if you listen to their interviews. Bruno spent years at a revue, straight after school, maybe early teens, performing MJ songs dressing and dancing like him.... so I think they've pulled from all who influenced them. Boy groups, adult groups, I see all of it. Just love these guys are here, and doing what they're doing, takes my heart and soul to the happiest place. Totally agree…we have gotten so skeptical of whether someone or group is lipsynching or being auto tuned on their mic that we are almost in shock when a performance is this great (not perfect, because nothing truly live is perfect) with actual singers and musicians…and they can move on top of that!!!

That’s Bruno’s brother, Eric Hernandez playing the beats APaak actually composed &’layed down on the session. You are absolutely correct about ‘mayor’ vs. ‘main’ or ‘Maine’ or whatever. There are actually vocal & theater coaches who have been reacting to Silk Sonic & pointing out the type of diction that the guys are using in certain words in the lyrics. Sometimes it even has to do with how it’s easier to sing certain notes, but in this case, I think it’s just how it rolled off Paak’s tongue, like how he talks, & it fits easy into his rap phrase, almost like, ‘mayah’.So he ain’t tryin to go Shakespeare on folks like, ‘mayorrrrrrrr’. You right on the money wit that, and with the dance moves too, don’t sweat it. I came through all that. Jackson 5 was EXACTLY manifested the point you make about bringing group style into the modern era. So yeah the Temps would be dressed in the same suits, but initially the Temps,

Here come the J-5 like ‘69 wit the more modern styled bell bottom pants & sometimes almost hippie element to their style: Instant game changer! I would say Sly & Family Stone also, then you start seeing the Pips, Stylistics, etc., pants flaired, of course the horn bands, EW&F, Blood Sweat & Tears, Kool & the Gang, Chicago, KC & Sunshine, AAWB. Of course the fusion musicians were also dressing like that. Hell even in congress, cats like Biden were wearing slight bell bottom suits , tryin to be cool. You on point man, good ear/eye. 👍

As I said in your reaction to Lady Gaga with Tony Bennett, the music of the past hasn't expired, it just doesn't have anyone to sing it anymore, with a few exceptions. Songs like "Amazing Grace" and "Can't Help Falling In Love" will always have covers of them made, some in whatever styles are popular at the time they're made.
