Ahhh, the old Marauder starting woes. That takes me back. I must have spent more time repairing, adjusting and attempting to start mine than I did driving it.
Loving this one thank's for sharing very important information giving blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work this brings back memories of the early days of RC cars 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Brilliant had one remember fitting the wheels from my tamiya lunch box turning it into a off road was gutted when someone stole it from the boot of my dad's car.
Great Vid of a brilliant little nitro car from my childhood! takes me right back to long summer (and winter! ha) days fiddling in the bedroom them driving it in the local streets andf parks and inevitably breaking something on it and fiddling again for a couple hours with it! Great memories! Loved that exhaust note it produced. I can almost smell the nitro fumes still! I might aquire one again for a trip down memory lane!
thanks man, same memories as me!i loved it, and still love it. and indeed that sound is soo good. and it still works and starts great! if you have the right startmotor turning the right direction haha🙈 and not freezing my fingers off😜
Oh me too! I fly Helicopters at the mo but i last owned nitro cars 5 years ago. They were a Thunder Tiger EB4 S3, a HPI Trophy Truggy 4.6, a Hobao Hyper 8 Pro, Thunder Tiger Pheonix BX2, and a Protech Phaser 4RS! I got into Heli's for a challenge as a long time friend was into them for years and told me i'd never be able to fly them! haha needless to say i did learn to fly but spent £100's in crash repairs along the way! haha Keep up the great work man!
@@wesleydonnelly2141 allright haha same here, but spend more on crashes i am afraid🙈 a lot more! but thats part of the job flying helis. thats why i kept some nitro cars and planes, to have some fun without shaking hands all the time with my heli tricks haha
Oh cool man! and i can totally relate to you saying about "Shaking Hands" when flying Heli's!! haha My goodness i'm a nervous wreck most of the time!! haha definately gonna get myself some nitro cvars soon, as i miss them.
@@wesleydonnelly2141 haha ,at night i want to fly,... in the morning i start to get nervous,... fly 4 lipos,.. and happy to return home with everything in one piece🤗 and the bigger the heli, the bigger the shaking. with my 600 i start even shaking without flying haha
I think todays nitros are high pitched because their engines spin extraordinarily fast! (38000, 40000 rpm). They have to compete not only against other modern nitros but also against those wicked electrics! In the past those electrics were not really fast, so nitros could easily outperform them.
Thanks, yes that sound is great. This is the original exaust. Hard to find, good i didnt destroy it when i was a kid😃 next video will be a classic nitro 3d plane.
that's a wild pipe :) love the sound and smell of nitro. Unfortunately the neighbours don't. Planes are nice in electro, but cars need to smell and make a lot of noise :)
i remember driving my brothers into a wall i bent the chassis i stripped it down hammered the chassis back to shape and away it went do you remember the mardave meteor 1/10 scale electric buggy
+robert parkes yes same here 😃 and the electric one, yes i remember. But i had the tamiya sand sorcher. Also very nice, but flipped over any corner i made. And batteries were not like the lipos nowadays😂 so back then i preferred nitro. Even though it took me longer to start than the actual driving haha
I won a mardave marauder on eBay for £47.00 free postage it wasn't meant too be free postage but that was the sellers fault they forgot too list it with the postage it's in excellent clean condition it also came with a tecniplus transmitter since having it i have cleaned off the rough fluorescent yellow paint spray job that was done on the body shell i have also swapped the futaba receiver over with another futaba receiver that was in my nitro condor buggy that i bought about two years ago as the receiver that was in the mardave wasn't working for some reason i have also bought a new air filter sponge as the old air filter sponge was falling apart i also bought some wire mesh on eBay for the windows on the mardave i cut it out & stuck it too the inside of the windows the engine in it is a nitro irvine engine with the blue head.
Neil great man😀 thats a good deal. Did it come with the original exaust? Because the sound is so nice💪 unfortunately the exaust is gone most of the time. It makes a dark lout sound. I think that was the reason people put other exausts on it. Just like me when i was young. Thats why there is a cut in the body as you can see to make room for a huge one. The neighbourhood hated the sound of that car back then. And still haha. But i put the old exaust back again fortunately
RC TricksTipsFun Yes it has the original twin barrel exhaust i also have two other nitro engines with that twin barrel exhaust one is on a veco 19 nitro engine the other is on a irvine 19 nitro engine & also i have one more of the twin exhausts that i won on eBay that is not mounted onto a engine if you have whatsapp send me a message through RUclips & i will send you photos of all of my rc buggies & engines etc
RC TricksTipsFun mine was missing it's original back spoiler it has the original battery/receiver/servo box i have taken the receiver switch out of my nitro condor buggy & put it in the mardave as the receiver on/off switch had a 4x AA sealed battery pack that was not holding charge as i found out there was this three pin receiver plug coming from the on/off switch i couldn't figure out how was i meant too charge the battery pack ? i sent a message too the seller i bought it from on eBay he didn't even know he said he would have too ask the guy he bought it from the reason he was selling all his rc stuff was because he had become ill or something i figured it out after doing searches on eBay i had too buy a battery pack charger that also charges the transmitter batteries & also the batteries inside the car i know transmitters have a charging socket on some of them as i have one on another one of my transmitters.
Well it doesnt haha. Must have been the cold that made me say weird things😝! The only thing is that it was sometimes hard to start and run, accelerate perfectly right away. During the session it needs a lot of adjustments, more then recent cars with more needles with low speed needles and high speed.
@@rctrickstipsfun6504 ah that's interesting, but I've always wondered why modern nitro rc cars have multiple carburetor needles when a lifesized 2 stroke engine has only one... must be what you've stated about your car.
@@dauntlesschicken9756 i wondered too toby. But i think it has got to do with power in the right rpmlevel. This old engine runs smooth. But even though its 3.5cc, its very slow and does not have to power that 3.5cc engines have nowadays! For instance my nitro heli engine is only very powerfull above a certain rpm. Because helis never go from 0 to a million😝 during flight. With cars its different. Low to high is all about acceleration. And i dont know how that is with modern 2 stroke dirtbikes, how the needles work,.... since i have a 4 stroke😁
@@dauntlesschicken9756 very true indeed! this sound is great. But also the pipe helps. That pipe is very difficult to find, many people changed that pipe in the 80's, so did i, but i always kept the original one, and i love that sound! I had to change it when i was young, because the neigbours complained all day,.. that dark sound travels far! But the sound was just as loud haha

Ah the memories of driving this car up and down the street ....the fun I used to have ,and I've still got mine 😉
+spektrum33 ha yes, me too. Never sell this one! the smell, the sound of our youth :) The hours spending starting!
Sounds better than a modern car !! Thx for posting

Thanks for this video its awesome to see a classic brought back to life by the original owner!
+Ryan Burman i did it with pleasure 😃
congrats on getting her started man! must've been such a good feeling to tear it down the street again. hoping to get my dad's old RC started someday!
aaron71 oh man yes, it felt great. And that in freezing cold weather. This old mean machine always delivers🤩
My childhood - i had the Mardave Stockmaster.
that runs really well
I'm 12 and have the Tamiya grasshopper 1984!!!!!
Bless you young man! You got my very first proper RC car from the 80's! Hope it brings you as much joy as it did me...
i had it too 87 & a super champ back then Tamiya are the most popular rc..
She runs good for an old girl.
Awesome videos I gotta build one for my channel 🙏
it sounds like a 80's f1 car
Cool vintage car!
haha man my 15 is hard to start team associated but when its hot just rips so many hours on that nitro but is still a bad ass

Surely! But they are fun! the noise and everything. But I like electrics too.
