- The upcoming BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan will focus on its new, independent international payment system.
The group has grown in membership this year, and supporters of the BRICS expansion say it shows a growing dissatisfaction with current international institutions. Dasha Chernyshova reports.

BRICS payment will help the nations to slowly utilize the full potential of world economy.
60 nations have accepted the idea to have an alternate to the western institution, especially the developing economies.
The three points of access are the currency used, bank messaging system, and intermediary banks. Even if an alternative closed system is set up, it might not be immune to interference as any end point bank can be coerced to show its books, fearing being cutoff from the dollar based system. However, with time, dedollarisation will reach a point making this threat negligible.

Blockchain technology is developed enough that it can facilitate direct central bank to central bank communication. Private banks only need to communicate with their own central banks (basically, the central banks become the intermediaries).

The US had the golden goose, there was demand for their money despite how much debt they have because it was the international currency of trade. They decided to use it as a weapon and in their eyes it looked like a useful weapon, but it is a sword made of solid gold. It might look like a weapon (a sword), but gold is soft and does not hold a sharp edge and would be useless as a weapon, which they are finding now. They were hoping Russia would fold and do what they wanted to get back into SWIFT, which shows their lack of understanding about the world around them, which is sick of their white European colonial BS. Now alternatives will be created and the system they controlled will not dominate the world like it used to. Just like all their other sanctions they are making Russia and BRICS stronger and more appealing for those countries who just want to trade without the strongarm blackmail they get from the west.
BRICS partner China have their own parallel SWIFT-like system - the China Inter-bank Payments System (CIPS).

there are already active alternate payment system to swift but limited by country to country or groups of countries. good there will be one using a unit value/reserve currency for global trade. of course paper denominations and coins are still valid for within country transactions and travel for common people
Its frankly amazing that they don't have an alternative already. I mean these contries all had currencies and did international trade. It shows that they were so set on using the dollar for foriegn exchange that they never even considered not using it until now. Now every trade they do will have to pay the price of the instablitiy of their own currencies. This system really only helps russia as all the other contries are better using the dollar. So they will continue to use the dollar for everything excepy russia who gets to use whatever fun money they want frankly.
