I wanted this one for longer arrows and see how it works. Have to say, it works just fine!

I def. would do the horseback archery course, I say go for it, it'll be an awesome experience for sure ;) Would be cool to have a video about that too.
I think- though I'm not certain, and I'm far from an expert - that mounted archers often attached their bow cases and quivers to their saddles below the saddle horn (so just ahead of the rider's legs when he/she was mounted). The depictions I've seen of Polish Husaria definitely show the bow carried this way. The sword (or the szabla, since the Polish hussars carried two...and a bow...and a heavy lance...and a brace of wheellock pistols if they could get them) was worn on the rider's belt. It makes sense (to me, at least). They were using the bow primarily from horseback, if they ran into a situation where they needed to shoot dismounted, it was unlikely to be something immediate, so taking the quiver off the saddle and the bow out of it's case wasn't going to be using time they didn't have (after all, if it's that urgent, why dismount at all?).
But on foot, whether by intent or dumb luck (horse gone down, rider still able to fight) the sword was the most immediately vital weapon. If it so happened that nobody was in sword range, or likely to be there in the next few minutes, then the bow and quiver could be recovered from the horse. But in a close combat situation, having a quiver strapped to one's belt right where one's sword would/should be is probably a liability. Sword first, then bow...assuming you're still standing. And after you've given your sword a quick wipe.
While you are right, please realize that this quiver is not intended to be historical, but is designed for the modern sport of horse archery under competition conditions and regulations (which stipulate that a quiver must be worn by the rider, and cannot be attached to the saddle - at least for most of the common competition disciplines)
I have made one myself a couple of years ago that works both as a backquiver and as a hipquiver, with arrow clips out of stiff beltleather.

Not the quiver for me, but I do like my Living Arrow bow. My favorite quiver is a Polish-Tartar quiver made by Zack Djurica of Nomadic Arts Archery in Canada.
Thanks for the video! This quiver seems sturdy and made with good quality leather. I noticed it makes the arrows stay a bit in the way of a normal/comfortable shooting position. Perhaps that can be adjusted. I wonder if the weight of it also might be a factor for long shooting sessions. The price is salty as well. 🙂

If you took the laces that separate the arrows out of the lowered retaining pouch, it could be used for 2 bevel hunting broadheads. But, I personally prefer a quiver on the right with rear facing arrows, such as a Manchu quiver.
I'd be afraid of poking nocks into my face (eyes!!), especially on parcour range - if your shoe slips on wet root or anything, you hunch a bit automatically.
I am struggling with a quiver, where to put it and what type, it is not an easy task, when you have longer arrows, but this one gives me Yayks!

That’s a very nice looking quiver, I have a quick question for, looking for a higher in quality bow, that is easy to shoot, with thumb release, about that stands out in your mind, good quality for the money?

Armin is the Godfather to knowing all bows. And has shot to many to count, But i can give u my very very limited experience, with more expensive bows.
I have found out that AF sells amazing bows. So does Alibow and if you want a real high end bow lukasz nawalny makes a phenomenal bow. (Those are the ones I personally own and company’s I have dealt with) I have had tons of friends recommend paragon as well.
Looks like the strap fits through the leather loop then underneath the arrow holder.
Did I hear you right 850€ wow sounds a bit out of my league.grozer has some very nice bows for that kind of cash .

What type of thumb ring are you using
Hallo Armin, ich habe gerade ein Problem mit meinem Bogen. Es war geliefert von AF und Lakierung war Mat, obwohl es soll nicht sein. Ich habe es ignoriert, aber jetzt nach einem Monat des Nutzung ich sehe Risse in Bereich des Begung des Wurfarmen. Von AF ahbe ich kein Meldung gekriegt. Kannst du mir bitte sagen, welcher Lack muss ich lieber für Lakierung nehmen?

I believe this is what Mihai calls a sword side quiver....there is another type, the one Mihai sensei made for me is on the sword side of the body but is oriented so that the arrows are nearly horizontal, the nock end only slightly higher....there are no faster quivers than living arrow quivers. ......use electrical tape on the front and back of the fletching to save your fletching if you shoot alot or you can make a flat spot or knob at the nock to assist in grasping the arrow and it's orientation.....and Armin buddy..there's only two horizontal straps to deal with on the flying quiver
