I had ordered a 40# in November 2023, and in June contacted them on when it would come in . They were revamping their heavier weight molds, so we agreed on a 32# and it came in weeks later. It was worth the wait, it’s such a fun bow, and performs as advertised. Thanks Armin

Hey Armin, we need your advices and maybe your help please. You promoted this Et-4C bow and numbers of your followers bought it. Now It’s seems that there is a problem with the production. The costumer service of Nika said that the bows above 30lbs have issues reported by costumers, Nika is pretty secretive on these issues. Now they are up to 150 days of delay trying to find a solution.
Would be nice if you can reach them and ask:
    - What are the technical issues?
    - Have any of those 30+lbs bow snapped?
    - what have the costumers reported exactly?
    - Are there any safety issues with those bows?
    - How did they resolve those issues?
And maybe you could do an other review of the 50lbs when it finally comes out.

After having waited for six months, I finallly got this bow. Needed some time to sand down the connecting middle part, but finally, it fits perfect. Oh girls and boys, I love this bow. I own more than 30 bows, somehow addicted to this hobby. This is the best non-laminated bow I own. Outstanding value for the price. Ordered in 35 LBS, no complains yet after 200+ arrows.

@ArminHirmer. I think you may consider updating your review. The bow has now 6months wait and price has also increased to $189. The bow is undergoing redesign due to some flaws, maybe you can find out what these are. Imho the bow was prematurely launched. Im not sure if there is some partnering/sponsorship with Nika, but the Nika webpage has your image so perhaps you may have some inside information to share?

The shape is just stunning. Commented to them about a 34" draw version and they replied that they could do that but would take about 3 months.

Fair warning on heavier draw versions: My order (November 3rd) for a 50Lbs version was just cancelled (1/8/24) by Nika, without my consent. They did, however, offer to notify me when the bow is available and to honor the original price. This is a disappointment, but perhaps for the best. Apparently they are having issues with higher weight versions that will require some unspecified duration to address. I recommended a non-takedown version and their reply indicated they might be considering it. For a Chinese company, their communication is excellent, with the exception of canceling orders without customer consent.

I received my bow! I love it! It shoots much better than I do.
(I no longer live where I can practice on my own property).
If I do everything somewhere near correctly the arrows fly very well and very accurately. I have other bows that are much less forgiving of minor imperfections in technique.
The draw is smooth ,and it is fast.
The siyahs are very narrow at the location of the string grooves, so I anticipate that this is going to be hard on the string loops. I may have to make a string that has super durable string loops servings.
I'm not sure how long the string that came with the bow will hold up. Some bows with very narrow siyahs are thickened at the string grooves.
Overall--it is an utterly amazing bow for the price!

Longevity is really my main concern. Really appreciate the compact form factor and I have used an early model from aliexpress 2019 @~30 pounds, until it broke around the geometric transition, after 2 years and about 2000 shots, on a winter day.
I really want to know how Nika Archery approached this iteration, how/where is the carbon fiber incorporated?(I suppose only at the leverage as is shown?)
Is it made from long strands of fiberglass and carbon or are they basically short shredded fibers that are mixed into the injection molding process, throughout the whole piece?
How is the working limb material compared to plain fiberglass backing material?
I would be interested in the higher draw 48# or 50# but I am not convinced, with the given information, on how the manufacturing of this iteration has been improved on to be significantly more reliable.

    • @archeryelong
      @archeryelong Год назад +5

      Hi, kvnleiai
Hope this helps with your confusion.
ET-4 Mengyuan bow is made of nylon mixed with short fiberglass in the injection molding process.
ET-4C Mengyuan carbon bow is made of a new composite material of continuous carbon fiber+continuous fiberglass in the high pressure, high temperature molding process, ensuring that the bow limbs will not twist and will not be affected by extreme weather conditions. It can be used in minus 30 degrees.

This travel-friendly bow would seem suited for the context of combat-archery sports or archery-tag: where the bows are exposed to various stresses as the players maneuver through the terrain, dodging and overcoming obstacles.

    • @archeryelong
      @archeryelong Год назад +1

      Hi, kvnleiai
We are the first company in the world to make traditional bows with this process, thanks to the efforts of our R&D and production technology team, which has been making breakthroughs in technology.
Laminated bows are made by gluing a glass fibre board to a wood or PU sheet and heating and pressing it into shape; while our ET-4C bows are made by one-piece high-temperature and high-pressure moulding without gluing, not using the injection moulding process of ET-4, not a thermoplastic material like ET-4.
If you are interested, please refer to our NIKA ARCHERY N3 and N3 PRO series bow limbs. It is not affected by the environment and will not explode suddenly.

Can you make a video that shows us all the modifications you can put on an asiatic bow?
I.e. how to install arrow nock
    Better grips
    Impact/vibration reduction
Different reinforcement mods to strengthen bows from breaking (for traditional wood bows)
Can you go in the historical methods that archery may also use?
I watched War of the Arrows movie and noticed that korean bowyer wraps cloth at string nock, idk for what purpose specifically, maybe to silence the bow? Then i saw the manchurian bowyers wraps cloth and leather along the rest of the bows too.

I bought and own one of their previous bows of this style... and it is one of the worst bows I've had the displeasure of shooting. It was rated at 25# draw but my digital bow scale shows it as drawing 12.8 lbs at a 30 inch draw. It can't even get an arrow down a 20 yard lane and make it stick in the target. So I'd certainly hope their carbon bow is a better version of their prior "toy" bow that is currently sitting in a corner collecting dust. ; )

Wow, looks very nice. Take-down is great for transportation (as other horsebows do not fit in the trunk of my car). I think I'll get one. I just have to decide about the poundage. Currently I draw around 32" so I have take in acount the increasing stiffness for still being comfortable when drawing (my 53" bow has 26@28").
I saw also there is white version. Looks also very nice but I guess it's simply painted white and assume that the white paint will wear over time.

    Armin,
when you are measuring the speed, starting minute 12, you shoot arrows stating the following weights while displaying the GrainPerPound:
    400 grain - 8.2 gpp -170, 176, 178 fps
    385 grain - 7.9 gpp -177, 179
    340 grain - 6.9 gpp - 185, 184,187 fps
Did you draw to 31-32" because it did not look like it to me.
As a feedback, I would appreciate it if you were more structured on the data of your bow reviews or make them more accessible such as with the Draw Weight:
    38#@28"
    43#@30"
    49#@32"
Thank you for the insightful reviews nonetheless!

yeah I think I still drew just 31 inches... still enough to give you an idea of the bows performance I guess

I have ordered a ton of these off Ali Baba, they are not carbon fiber though, but they look the EXACT same. They are $20 USD and come in about #20 draw weight. I usually cut the ends off and turn it into a #25 bow. haha. I see this one is Carbon Fiber. Any idea what is going on for the manufacturing? Why is there a ton of these bows in a different material being sold mass by tons of distributers but this bow has a mark up of $100ish, looks the exact same but a different material. Did you do a video on its predecessor maybe?

Very nice effort on Elong’s behalf.
IF they would make a true one-piece construction, for a step up version, it could easily be lighter over all, and stronger in the riser section, and a more ovalized grip could also be possible.
The 2-piece take down requires the unfortunate flat surface for indexing the limbs joint. That isn’t a benefit to the archers shooting experience. Beautiful bow though, with consistency in shooting.

    Hi Armin,
I just thought I should let you know my experience with this lovely bow which you may or may not find interesting. I ordered it as 30# draw weight but my bow is much heavier than that.
The labels on the limbs read as follows: 311022 30A bottom limb and 311032 30B top limb.
I have only today been able to measure the draw weight and it reads as follows:
    31.5 # @ 26"
    36.4# @ 28" and
    43.0# @ 30"
This is a substantial difference for me (6.4#) as I am a beginner at archery. My draw length is 30" so 43# at that length is difficult. I have sent an email to Nika about this for their information.

I have been waiting for this, as your picture has allready been on the elong website. How about having the middle part made out of metal? It would put enough weight to it to make it steadier and get rid of vibration.

Armin, I love that bow and have ordered one.
I have a problem, though--I don't know how to get long enough arrows in the US.
I fletch my own cedar arrows and can only get 32" shafts. That is perfect for me for the three finger draw to the corner of my mouth. But it is really limiting my thumb draw which is another three inches.
I am willing to switch to carbon shafts--or even finished carbon arrows, if I have to. But so far I can find nothing. Heavy Manchu arrows would be overkill.
    Any ideas?
Thanks! I've been following you for years now and love your reviews!
Oops--I forgot this bow maxes out at 32" draw!
Ah, well--I guess my long arms doom me to a shorter draw than I would like! I don't mind that much, I guess, but I would like to experience that extra three inches sometime!

or the snake will be more adapted ?
