But most people watching this for free on youtube are the type who get small gigs and projects from startups, so a 3d scan, metahumans things available for free are much easy and faster way to go about it while still getting somewhat equal quality.

Still, there's a lot of other courses out there that do teach you how to go from zero to a finished character, I definitely recommend getting the paid courses rather than just checking out the youtube videos because the paid courses will explain in better detail and you get feedback from the teacher and other students.

I mean it's possible if u give it a lot of time in that period of time, also remember, nature is absolutely not equal, and they will always be others that are just better "equipped", that is nothing to brag about tho, it's only birth traits gambe, that u generally don't have any control over. The important part is the "user", e.g. as if ur friend had 5GHz processor in his PC system although in the same architecture and u had a 3GHz one, then well ofc u will need to put more work i certain things, but at the end, the user of it, is what makes the difference and how he will use it.
But back to the topic, he mentioned in the video that he was doing a "3D Character modeling" for almost 6 years, so before that he could still do other 3D branches, maybe had some general xp in 3D software or most likely was just a great/experienced 2D artist, maybe even sculptor or/and had education in ART in general, bc of that he prob had some foundation in eg. human anatomy too. Moreover, skills from 2D (drawing and etc), really change a lot when starting a career in 3D, I mean its day and night in sculpting, less in hard surface, technical art tho, but still goes a long way (talking as a game dev 3D artist with +8yrs of exp, now mostly tech artist and programmer, due to my lack of skills, experience and just overall dislike working in 2D stuff, it was really a pain i the as’s in 3D modeling).

You see them still and think, "Yeah, that looks real." Then see the way they blink, or the movements of the jaw and realize that something is off. I think we have a long way to go before anything, Human or ai, is able to completely fool thousands of years of our brains evolution toward recognizing something as, Human.

I'm so impressed I'm scared actually lol. Scared because if this is where tech is at it could mean soon a movie would have a "actor" in it and we wouldn't know

Such a good course! It is a shame I can't afford it rn but it is going to be on my list of things I need to save for. The quality is just too awesome for that price point.

Now redo Tarkin! I was rewatching Rogue One on May the 4th and it stuck out really bad... My son didn't pick up on it, I think, but it looked bad in my eyes...

Stunning, seriously. I thought the character you created was in some storyline and you were using a photo of Jack Black for reference. Your video turned out far more interesting that I expected.
