Realistically he spent $7101 since it was an iterative process, like refining a series of rough drafts. Plus that cost went entirely to paying for resources like cosplayers, studio, props, etc. None of it went to the 3D artist / himself. A quality 3D artist for a month or so worth of work probably cost 8-12k. Plus story-boarding / research. 25k is a pretty good cost estimate, leaving decent headroom for unexpected overages and profit margin.
This comment is too underrated. Perfectly encapsulates the answers to the questions everyone was asking in their own head.
Realistically speaking, he didn't spend $7,000. Here in Brazil, when converted, that amount of money is absurd just to produce a video. Jalex probably just partnered with the studio, cosplayer, and so on.

i work as editor since 2018 when i showed my mom that i got paid $1200 for a 30 seconds ad she started supporting too. any parent would support you if you show them that work that you are doing bring some revenue home and you are not working free for someone or some company.

It felt like the $1 version was purposely bad in some ways, like it required skill to know how to make it look cheap lol. I was blown away by your full effort version though!! Well done!

I think @JalexRosa is very talented. My nephew has signed up to study visual effect in college after watching this video. It is actually quite encouraging for a young high school student graduate to believe that his interest in anime and Final Fantasy has a career path beyond the traditional accounting, engineering or medicine. 😊
